21.01.2022 No international student should be left behind or forgotten! Students are needing help perhaps more than ever during the challenging time. International students aren't eligible for Centrelink benefits and have been largely excluded from the recent govt subsidies/allowances. Many students may find themselves in vulnerable situations and need someone to listen to their concerns. So, I am offering an international student care line for those who wish to be heard. I'm going to try my best to support these students as much as I can!

15.01.2022 International students in Australia are still subject to wage theft and physical/sexual harassment. More than three in four international students in Australia are earning less than the minimum casual wage, says a new survey of 5000 international students. One in four reported receiving less than half the minimum wage in their lowest paid job. Students experienced other issues at work, including sexual harassment, accidents and injuries, being required to work very long hours..., and termination of employment if they complained to their employer. "People suffer in silence often because of visa concerns or fear of job loss" - Prof. Berg from UTS Law Exploitation is common which warrants the need to address the gap in labour law for vulnerable temporary visa holders. So raise your concerns and let others advocate for you! Complete the Temporary Migrant COVID IMPACT Survey (open until 20 July 2020 to anyone who was in Australia on a temporary visa on 1 March) https://www.mwji.org/covidsurvey See more

09.01.2022 Chinese New Year is the time when family and friends spend time together and enjoy a big feast. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to spend time with my family back home (Taiwan) this year. I was on the call with them earlier this week and my dad told me that he was visiting the countryside and eating at a local restaurant in Yilan. I've been there and I know how good the food is. So, I decided to make dumplings! If you're still in a festive mood, why not try these at hom...e? Dumplings are always great when made fresh!!!! Don't buy the packaged ones from Coles/Woolies. They're really not as good and texture isn't great. Recipe: *Chicken thigh x2, minced (I bought them from a local butcher and brought my own containers - eco-friendly pro tip! haha) *1 raw egg *Spring onion, thinly sliced about 1/2 cup *sweet corn, fresh please *Chinese cabbage, diced into small pieces (optional) *Pinch of salt *Dash of mirin (optional) *Dash of soy sauce (I bought mine from Fuji Mart in Subiaco) *Dash of Chinese Xiaoxing wine *Pinch of ground white pepper *Sesame oil, 1/3 TB #chinesenewyear #perthlife #studentslife #studyaustralia #internationalstudentaustralia

03.01.2022 The 5-day lockdown in Perth is a perfect timing for me to focus on creating quality content for students. I will be releasing different tips to help students build awareness around employability and entrepreneurial skills. I'm not sure if my followers spend a lot of their time in front of their computers/laptops. If you do, please don't forget to allocate time to do stretches or yoga in split intervals! Muscles tighten up if we remain in the same posture for a long time and c...hronic muscular problems can develop. Thank you for following me :) and feel free to send through any question you may have. #internationalstudentaustralia #internationalstudentsofaus #careerdevelopment #australiainternationalstudents #overseasstudentsaustralia #studentvisaaustralia #studentlifeinaustralia #studentsinaustralia
