25.01.2022 A breath to open up space in your body and bring ease. When youre stressed you may feel your chest cavity tighten. This hinders the flow of your breath and your breath can become shallow which causes more stress and anxiety.... Practicing Canon Breath whilst gripping the pinkies opens the chest cavity, expands the lungs and create space for the breath to flow bringing an ease to your body and energy. Try it and let me know how you go. If you are interested in online yoga classes I am teaching classes at www.sydneyyogacollective.com If you would like to work one on one with me please email me at [email protected] for a chat. 20.01.2022 One of my mantras for life is nothing stays the same good or bad, this too shall pass. I remind myself of this when things are shit and Im aware of this when things are going great. This year in particularly has been very uncertain but heres the thing, nothing is ever certain its just more prevalent at the moment because with COVID-19 we can see it playing out. Im reading @aliciakeys book More Myself and this paragraph really stood out to me.... Nothing but uncertainty is certain. Circumstances come together only to fall apart moments or months later. And then, in a flash we must rise up and regain our footing. In the rear view mirror, I now see it so clearly what escaped me then: its not that the ground beneath me was suddenly shifting; its that its never still. Thats part of the work of my journey-getting comfortable with lifes groundlessness. Man did that hit home! The ground is never still and its not, so how do you stay grounded when in reality the path is groundless? Think of your nervous system as your foundation upon which to stand. The stronger and more balanced this system the steadier you will feel through the ever shifting chaos of life. Thats what I love about Kundalini Yoga, it works strongly on your nervous system. Through breath, posture, meditation and mantra each Kriya is designed to increase your capacity for what life brings you, good or bad. It lays the energetic platform for your foundation so like a house you stand steady and dont topple when the winds of change move through. Triangle pose or downward facing dog is a great posture to strengthen and balance the nervous system. It works every muscle and cell. You might find your body shakes in the posture. Let it, its your nervous system readjusting itself. I do this posture for 5 minutes as part of my practice. Try it for 1 minute and build up to 5. Stay present and be aware of how your body and energy feel. I find it incredibly powerful and rejuvenating. Let me know how you go. My classes this week @sydneyyogacollective Tuesday 6.30pm Thursday 9.30am Saturday 9.30am See you on the mat.

19.01.2022 Being in isolation or working from home your body doesnt get to move as much as when you are actively out and about. So today for my yoga tip I would like to share 3 postures to help ease any achey, tight feelings you may be experiencing in your body particularly in the back and neck area. spinal twist... side bends neck turns Try for 3 minutes each and let me know how you go. If you are interested in doing some yoga at home I am teaching online for Sydney Yoga Collective. Please go to www.sydneyyogacollective.com for more information. Stay well and see you on the mat.

19.01.2022 Sat Nam, Hows everyone doing? Happy Full Moon eclipse! I could feel the buzz of energy in this one so strongly! With all the planetary action going on and the continued uncertainty in the world as our normal dramatically changes day by day its a really important time to stay grounded whilst staying connected. So how do you do that?... When I was in lockdown I would walk every day past this amazing fig tree (Pictured). You know the ones whos roots span a large circumference of the ground and whose branches seems to reach into the heavens. I would stop and place my hands on it, feel its sturdy energy and take it in to help me feel grounded even though the ground felt like it was being pulled out from underneath me. It got me thinking that in order to live a centred life on this planet I need to be like the tree, roots firmly grounded into the earth whilst my branches connect into all that there is. Your nervous system is your roots, like the roots of the tree. Its your foundation that holds you up through the ups and down of life. Your higher centres of energy connect you into everything like the branches, but if your nervous system isnt strong it doesnt matter how far your branches reach out you will topple over. Working on the naval is one of the best ways to strengthen your foundation, it physically strengthens your core and energetically builds up your power. Your nervous system has to be able to support your input and output otherwise you will crash. So heres an exercise for you. Stand straight, eyes closed, with your arms by your side palms facing forward and think of yourself as the tree. Feel into your equilibrium. Are your roots firmly grounded? Do your branches connect into the universal energy? If you feel wobbly, unsteady on your feet, do some naval work and keep testing your centre with this exercise. The more grounded you feel the stronger your foundation. Let me know how you go. My classes this week @sydneyyogacollective Tuesday 6.30pm Thursday 9.30am Saturday 9.30am See you on the mat.

19.01.2022 Sat Nam, Hows everyone doing? Its been a bit of a precarious time with so much information coming in and sifting though whats what. So with so much info coming in from government, media, social media, friends, family and a lot of it contradicting, how do you know whats the truth and what to believe?... This is how I look at it. Theres the stories my head creates and theres the truth that comes from my heart. How do I know the difference? The stories from my mind are usually loud and either come from a place of fear or are full of bravado. The stories from my heart are quietly shared from a place of peace and grace. In Kundalini Yoga we have three minds, the negative mind, the positive mind and the neutral mind, each crucial for your well being. I like to think of the negative mind like a risk assessor, it scans a situation and weighs up all possible risk, and stays in a state of high alert continually warning of possible danger. This mind if out of control will become very fearful and paranoid and find it hard to hear the truth. The positive mind is your cheerleader, weighing up every possibility of what could go right and cheering you on. If out of control it will become arrogant and reckless putting you in situations that could cause harm. And lastly the neutral mind - your truth. Think of it like Switzerland. It has no bias or judgement and just weighs up the negative and positive from a neutral space giving you the truth of a situation. Its your instinct, wisdom, gut feel and Its connected to the heart. Being able to hear the neutral mind can be hard when its voice is being drowned out by the loud opinions of the negative and positive minds. In yoga its knows as your Shuniya Point, your zero point and this is what we endeavour to get to to hear our truth. Meditation is housekeeping for the minds. Try meditating for 11 minutes for 40 days and see how well you start to feel your truth. Id love to hear. My classes this week at Sydney Yoga Tuesday 6.30pm Thursday 9.30am See you on the mat.

18.01.2022 Sat Nam, Hows everyone doing? Theres so much noise at the moment from the news, social media, friends, family, hearing snippets of conversation from strangers as they pass by about whats happening in the world it can get quite overwhelming and the effect on your body can be stressful.... What you digest whether it be food, information or emotions must have an output otherwise it can pile up in your body causing resistance, stress and ultimately unwellness. Think of water, if it remains still it becomes stagnant and toxic. The flow of water in a river or stream is what cleans it and its the same with your energy. In order for your body to maintain a healthy input and output your energy must flow. I like to think of Kundalini Yoga as housekeeping for my body and energy. In Kundalini Yoga we use movement, breath, meditation and mantra to clear through stuck energy to create flow. Everything must flow in order for you to stay healthy. Housekeeping for the body is a lifetime work. It must be kept up in order for you to keep up. Like dust in a house if not cleaned it will build up and so to with heavy emotions, food and information that hasnt been released. After the heaviness of this year so far I have decided that a good Spring clean is in order. Im holding a Spring Rejuvination Workshop from 2.00pm - 4.30pm on Saturday 12 September at Sydney Yoga Collective. You will practice some strong releasing exercises to clear the runway and make way for taking off toward what you want to create as you nurture the seeds that have lay dormant through winter to blossom in the Spring. Bookings are essential as numbers are limited due to Covid, so get in quick. Bookings can be made via my website, http://www.itsallgoodkundalini.com.au/workshops/ link also in bio. Cost: $60 Tea, journals, worksheets and chocolate provided. My classes this week @sydneyyogacollective : 6.30pm Tuesday 9.30am Thursday See you in the mat.

18.01.2022 Still I am happy to wait for the moon, patience is a virtue and tonight will be soon. Graham Poh Instructions for the Kirtan Kriya Meditation that I talk about in this video. Im practicing this for 40 days to help me with patience. ... Sit cross legged in easy pose. (If this is difficult you can sit in a chair) Hands are on your knees palms facing up. Whilst touching each finger with your thumb in time with the mantra chant Sa Ta Na Ma Out loud for 2 minutes Whisper for 2 minutes Silently for 4 minutes Whisper for 2 minutes Out lout for 2 minutes. Nirinjan Kaur does a great version of this meditation that you can download on iTunes. If you would like more info please message me. Stay well and see you on the mat.

18.01.2022 I’ve been thinking a lot this week about community. One of the things I love about Kundalini Yoga apart from the amazing yoga itself is the community it creates. I have been practicing this yoga for nearly ten years and the people I’ve met and have become friends with are welcoming, kind and so supportive.... When I started this yoga I was riddled with anxiety and very lonely. I remember going to KM Yoga and complete strangers hugging me in reception. I was very closed back then and it took me a while to open to hugs but over the years I’ve come to embrace them. It was the yoga but also the beautiful community spirit that opened me up. It’s an attitude that’s all about the Aquarian Age ethos of community, giving back, paying it forward, how can we help and support each other, compassion, kindness and love. Some of my darkest days have been softened with the love my amazing community have wrapped around me. One of my dreams is to spread Kundalini Yoga far and wide and grow this amazing community. It’s not only helped me but I’ve watched students and friends of mine open and embrace the true spirit of yoga. I would like as many people as possible to experience not only the amazing yoga but the beautiful community spirit that comes with it. . Bridget @kundaliniinspired and I are excited to be sharing our beginners yoga class and workshop at @myasana.yoga . 18.01.2022 Happy New Year! Although as expected none of the issues we face due to the pandemic magically stopped at the stroke of midnight, we can still make plans as individuals for the year we would like to mould. For the past few years I have started each year with a word for the year. Last year’s word was action. ... At the beginning of 2020 when the pandemic hit us here in Australia I thought this word would become redundant as my plans to get out more and travel were quashed by restriction after restriction. Boy was I wrong! My year was action packed with new ventures, workshops, retreats, partnerships, friendships, and I even managed some trips to the Blue Mountains and Central Coast, exploring areas I’d never been to before. My word for this year is ready. I’m ready. I’m ready to make the dreams I’ve had for so many years a reality and live my destiny. I’m ready. So watch this space! What is your word for the year? Comment below, I’d love to hear. To start the year @kundaliniinspired and I will have some great workshops coming up, more details to come.. We also have our beautiful Radiant Body Retreat from 12-14 March on a magnificent property in Matcham on the Central Coast. This is an awesome way to get your desires for this new year moving. This is not just a yoga retreat, this is an opportunity to nurture and treat yourself as you take the time to define how you would like your year to look. This property boasts 5 acres of beautiful grounds for you to explore and just be. We will have a cooking class with Lorrae our amazing chef for the weekend who’s passion for nourishing delicious food is infectious! Of course there will be amazing Kundalini Yoga, meditation and yummy long gong that is sure to rejuvenate and radiate your being. For more info go to https://itsallgoodkundalini.com.au/retreats/ I’ll be back teaching on my 6.30pm class on Tuesday, 19 January at @sydneyyogacollective See you on the mat.

17.01.2022 Happy Spring Equinox! Spring Equinox is a beautiful time of creation as everything starts to blossom into reality including your dreams. I was chatting to my friend who is great at bringing her dreams into reality. She was saying that shes never really drawn up a map of where she wants to go, shes just thought to herself thats what I want and it happens.... Ive practiced a lot of manifesting techniques in my time from vision boards and lists to plain begging the universe to grant me my request! Hint that one never works! Lol! What Ive realised is the things that I have brought into reality that are part of what Im born to be doing here on this earth werent on a vision board or a list, they just evolved from me following a deep pull guiding me from within. For example never in my wildest manifestation rituals did I visualise or ask to be a yoga teacher. Upon hearing about Kundalini Teacher Training an invisible force just pulled me towards signing up and although I was really scared I went with it and here I am today a teacher, living what Im meant to be doing. I feel that true creation is an organic process from within and cant be forced through constant attention. Its something that requires space for the universe to work its magic as you follow the breadcrumbs it lays before you. Its the daydreams that you get lost in when youre not thinking about much, or the sudden idea that came out of the blue, or the suggestion from a friend that gives you goosebumps. Its a knowing deep within you that if you listen will guide you to where you are meant to go. @glennondoyle who wrote Untamed (I highly recommend!) says Perhaps imagination isnt where we go to escape reality but where we go to remember it. I love that! Having a clear flow in your energy will help you hear your souls calling. Thats one of the things I love about Kundalini Yoga, it clears the channels so you can allow your imagination to run wild with possibility as you become clearly aware of what it is you want. So what do you imagine for yourself this Spring Equinox? My classes this week @sydneyyogacollective 6.30pm Tuesday 9.30am Thursday See you on the mat.

16.01.2022 Hows everyone dealing with iso? What Ive noticed is that sense of urgency I have to be somewhere now has nowhere to go. My friends have also commented how they have this need to be somewhere or get something done and then they realise the urgency has gone and theyre not sure what to do with themselves.... As humans we spend so much time doing and keeping busy that we have forgotten how to be and what Ive noticed for a lot of people Ive spoken to is that theyre finding just being hard. Being is stopping, allowing yourself to relax, finding peace in the stillness and that can be hard especially if your someone who used keeping busy to avoid being with yourself. The reality is not much in life is really urgent. It just isnt. I feel we tend to create a false sense of urgency in order to feel were in control and for some letting go of the control is hard because it means trusting and going with the flow and that can be scary. I also feel keeping busy gives us a sense of purpose, that when were busy we belong and its also a way to avoid just being with ourselves. The reality is your being is your purpose and you already belong just by being. Ive found that when I feel like this, sitting on my mat and practicing yoga brings me back into the moment and to myself. Working my body so I can get some of that need to doout of my system, practicing finding my stillness between the pose, meditating and allowing myself the time away from all distraction so I can be with me, helps me find peace in my being when Im off my mat. Take note if and when you have a sense of urgency, that need to be busy. Do you react to it by cleaning, cooking, doing? Or can you sit with that feeling in the knowledge that you have all the time in the world and this time in isolation is a gift to just be. The space between the pose is one of the most important parts of yoga as Its in the stillness that we get to know ourselves, integrate what we have learned in our doing, heal and grow. My classes this week on demand at www.sydneyyogacollective.com Stay well and see you on the mat.

15.01.2022 Sat Nam, Hows everyone going with iso? Im actually enjoying this slower paced energy that has descended on my world and kind of wish theyd lock us down every year for a couple of weeks to allow us and the planet to have a reset.... Which brings me to my topic today, freedom. I stand by freedom fiercely because I lost it for so long when I had an anxiety and panic attack disorder. Ive seen a lot of discussion on how this isolation gig is a loss of our rights, a way for the government to control us, not fair and a loss of our freedom. I get the frustration, I love going to the beach, going places and travelling, but for me freedom is so much more than how far I can roam. For me freedom is an inside job. Having lost it for 12 years at a time when I could physically go anywhere, I know what losing my freedom really feels like. I couldnt get on a bus, train, plane, attend a meeting, go through customs, go to the theatre without having a panic attack. It was so frightening. I constantly walked around in fear with floating anxiety, waiting for the next panic attack to take hold. I remember being awake one night in London and looking out at the eerie yellow lights that lit up the street there and feeling so disconnected. I thought to myself this is hell. I was so scared I would do something to myself because I couldnt live with that empty feeling anymore and I woke my boyfriend to help me. I was trapped in my own mind and I couldnt see I way out. I had no freedom. Finally I found Kundalini Yoga and this amazing technology had the tools I needed to set myself free. Isolation to me is not overly challenging because I lived in isolation for 12 years. The difference is back then I lived in perpetual fear where now I live in acceptance and am enjoying experiencing this down time. I do get bored and feel stir crazy and when I do I go back to my yoga. I stand for freedom and I may be in isolation, but I am free because I am free within. We have moved to an on demand model and new content is posted every Sunday. Youll find my classes at www.sydneyyogacollective.com any time you would like to get on your mat. Stay well and see you on the mat.

13.01.2022 Sat Nam, How is everyone doing? I was away in the Blue Mountains last weekend for with some of my longest friends. Theres something really special about being with the familiarity of 30+ years of friendship and the energy of the mountains was so rejuvenating especially with whats going on.... These times were in at the moment are unprecedented. I remember watching a video in Teacher training that was 20 years old where they talked about the Aquarian Age and how it would bring a period of great change and unrest. They spoke about how important it was to keep up the practice of Kundalini Yoga as this yoga will keep you balanced throughout the turmoil. I remember thinking that was good to know but not really understanding what it meant. Now that we are going through this world crisis Im so grateful for my practice. Its what keeps me grounded when I want to fly of the handle, its what brings me back to myself when I feel lost, its what keeps my body strong to hold me up and its what keeps me mentally healthy when I feel like Im drowning in fear. Yoga is called a practice because you are practicing for dealing with what life throws at you. Yoga provides challenging postures to bring up your crap. The stuff that comes up on the mat, the emotions, the self talk, the resistance, is the same stuff that will come up in your life when youre met with a challenge. If what comes up isnt working for you, your mat is your opportunity to practice changing that so you can integrate it as your norm. Its like rehearsing for a play, you rehearse so if something doesnt go to plan on opening night you are ready to respond in the best possible way as youve practiced and practiced. Yoga is your practice for life so when the shit hits the fan youre in good stead to deal with it. Now more than ever it is so important that you keep up with your practice so youre kept up in life. My classes this with @sydneyyogacollective 6.30pm Tuesday 9.30am Thursday 6.30pm Thursday (covering for Maya) 8.00pm Thursday (covering for Maya) See you on the mat.

13.01.2022 Happy Spring! And how goods the warmer weather giving us a nice preview of whats to come! I love Spring! I was thinking it must be called Spring because everything seems to Spring up including me! Lol! Thats what Im seeing. beautiful flowers, new births, warm weather and a renewed spring in my step!... Winter is a time of reflection, hibernation and nourishing the deep seeds within us. Spring is a time of renewal and growth. Its a time of creation to take those deep seeded ideas and sow them to life. It seems because of lockdown winter went forever this year as the country was forced inside way earlier and we have had way more time to reflect on what it is we want. Mary Oliver has this quote, Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? and thats what winter was for me,reflecting on what it is I want to do with my gift of life. Now that Spring has arrived its time to get the the ball rolling and I have some great ideas that I will be sowing moving forward so watch this space! So tell me what is it you want to do? To kick off the the season my Spring Rejuvenation Workshop next Saturday will be a great opportunity for you to take the ideas you have been nourishing through winter and bring them to life. We will be, meditating, journaling and workshopping our ideas into reality! The studio spots are sold out but I am live streaming the workshop on Zoom for those who would still like to attend. The workshop is next Saturday 12 September at 2.00pm and the cost to Zoom in is $30. Message me if youre interested and Ill send you the details to sign up. My classes this week @sydneyyogacollective : 6.30pm Tuesday 9.30am Thursday See you on the mat!

11.01.2022 I’m working with a client at the moment who is having the most extraordinary experience with the 40 day meditation I set for her and she’s given me permission to share this with you. On our first call I identified that her sacral chakra was out of balance. Now this lady doesn’t know much about chakras and but after I explained that it is creative energy she agreed she has an abundance of creativity that she’s locked down as she was ridiculed as a child for being too flamboya...nt and too much. The first few days of the meditation she felt relaxed and then on about day 5 she had a visualisation of a concrete city and a child all of which was in black and white except for the child’s school uniform which was burnt orange and brown. The child was distressed feeling lost and abandoned. I hadn’t shared with her that this chakra was orange, she had exactly described where she was at, lost in a black and white world with creativity bursting to be seen. What was also interesting was the child was the age of the child she was when she stopped being flamboyant to please others. She continued with the meditation and each day more colour entered the picture until she was wearing a beautiful gold dress with pearl flowers walking though a field of colourful wildflowers as the child held her hand and was so happy. This is just a snippet of what she saw to give you an idea of her experience. It blows me away how poignant these visualisations are describing exactly what was happening for her and showing her where she is headed. The universe is speaking to her through symbols and it is powerful! It is said 40 day meditations break a habit and they certainly take you on a journey of discovery about you. The power of these meditations are not only in the meditation you practice, but also in the act of committing to the meditation and yourself as you navigate through the process which can be difficult and painful at times as you allow what comes up to come up and guide you along. Give it a go with an 11 minute meditation for 40 days, journal your experience and see what comes up. I’d love to hear how you’re going. My class this week at Sydney Yoga Collective: Tuesday 6.30pm Not long now until I’ll be sharing more details on mine and Bridget’s; Summer Activation workshop on Sunday 6 December at 2.00pm and Our Radiant Body Retreat from 12-14 March 2021 located on a seriously magnificent property on the beautiful Central Coast. We’re planning some awesome activities for you to experience in both of these, so save the dates! I’m also offering private Kundalini Yoga Classes and one on one consulting using the transformative techniques of Kundalini Yoga. If you are interested please message me and I’ll send you more information. See you on the mat.

11.01.2022 Sat Nam, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! Wow what a year hey!... I started this year with the dream to secure a stable job, travel more and be more social, well as the saying goes want to make God laugh, tell him your plans! What I did achieve this year was not what I planned but so much greater than I could have expected as I was forced to push myself to create new dreams that I am so proud of and love. Covid has brought with it so much trauma, sadness, fear and grief. But what I have also witnessed across our planet is the resilience that we have as a collective. Through the toughest times we stood back up from our initial fall of shock and fear of our predicament and we pivoted from plans that became redundant to make new plans. We connected to each other globally, we opened our hearts with compassion and understanding and we stepped over restrictions to find new ways to be there for each other. As we bring in the new year although with it will come many of the same issues we are now facing as a planet, it’s also an opportunity to make positive changes as an individual. If each and every one of us made a positive change no matter how small, as a collective it will make a big impact on this planet. If this pandemic has taught me one thing it’s how powerful we are as a human race to create positive change quickly if each individual chips in. So for next year my focus is on how as an individual I can contribute to the well being of this world and I’ll start by how I can contribute in my own back yard. I’ll continue teaching the yoga I love, running workshops and retreats, coaching, taking photos of our beautiful world, staying committed to my own practice, being aware of how my actions affect myself, others and our planet and to be the best person I can be. I will also be starting an It’s All Good Kundalini podcast so watch this space! Each and every one of us have a responsibility for the well being of our planet, so what will you as an individual contribute to the well being of our world? Wishing you all a happy, healthy and abundant new year and may 2021 bring you love, joy and lots of growth after all who wants to remain stagnate! See you on the mat in 2021!

10.01.2022 Sat Nam, Hows everyone doing? Ive noticed even more so since the Corona Virus theres been a lot of opinions. facts, theories including conspiracy and judgement being voiced through social media and in conversations.... Some are political, some are medical, some are general and some are voiced in the name of being awake or spiritual. My mind has been boggled over all the differing views and at times I would start to feel confused and fearful about my future. So how do we know what is true and whats not true? How do we know what to believe? In Kundalini Yoga we always tune in with the mantra Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo. I bow to my teacher within, I bow to my wisdom within. I love this! Your truth is within you. For me how I know its my truth is theres no fear attached, its not complicated, theres no judgement of others if they dont agree, its not resistant, I have no need to convince or push my opinion on others, its not loud and aggressive, my truth doesnt hate, My truth is simple, it just is, It doesnt matter who agrees with me, My truth doesnt judge, My truth is quiet and calm My truth vibrates love, My truth brings peace. I remember a time when I was asked why I believe in God. This person who asked didnt believe in God and loved to get into philosophical arguments. I said I believe in God because it gives me peace. I didnt argue my reasons, I didnt judge, I just answered simply with my truth. What was interesting is he didnt argue the point with me, he accepted it even though it differed from his own views. 10.01.2022 Hows everyone feeling? Its certainly been a bumpy ride on this groundless path! Ive been talking to my friends this week about hope. Hope is the beacon of light at the end of the proverbial tunnel we are going through at the moment. This particular tunnel has lots of ups and downs and twists and turns so sometimes that light either dims or disappears but its always there. Yesterday in class we meditated to Ra Ma Da Sa the healing. The collective voices of the class ...chanting this healing mantra was like a soothing balm washing over me and immediately gave me a feeling of hope and peace. Mantra is a great way to connect back into your soul where hope and peace lie, it calms the mind and opens the heart. I think of it as the language of my soul. So if your are finding it hard to navigate this groundless path try playing some mantra to connect back in. I recommend Ra Ma Da Sa by @snatamkaurkhalsa Theres something about her version that connects me back in immediately. Try it and let me know how you feel. Its my birthday on Thursday and Im going to the mountains with friends to celebrate and cleanse in the beautiful mountain air. I wont be teaching my Thursday and Saturday classes. Thank you @yogi.maya and Lisa for covering. My classes this week @sydneyyogacollective Tuesday 6.30pm Thursday 9.30am (Yogi Maya) 9.30am Saturday (Lisa) On demand classes will still be available with new content each week if you cant attend. 09.01.2022 Lets talk about courage.. I consider myself a courageous person. Some wouldnt because Im also a very fearful person at times but heres how I see courage. When I was at the height of my panic attack disorder I couldnt get on a bus. The thought of it would terrify me. Even standing at a bus stop terrified me but through the years I kept attempting to get on a bus. Sometimes I gave up at the bus stop, sometimes I went a few stops before I had to get off and eventually I... made it all the way to my destination. It took so much courage to do something that most people thought nothing of. Now I sit on a bus with amazement that something so simple could terrify me so much and Im so proud and in awe of myself at how much courage I had to face my fear. Thats what courage is to me, facing my fear. Whether that fear is doing something or feeling something that scares me, facing it and moving through it. It doesnt take courage to do something you find easy. It takes courage to do the things you find hard. Right now we are in a time of such uncertainty and sometimes it takes courage to just get out of bed in the morning and face the day. Every day when I feel fear I say to myself be brave. Thats my mantra, be brave. Maya Angelous says courage is the most important of all virtues because without courage you cant practice the others consistently. Bren Brown says that vulnerability is the foundation of all connection and you must have courage to be vulnerable. Paulo Coehlo says the secret of life is to fall down 7 times and get back up 8. It takes courage to get back up. So each time you feel fearful and face your fear even if to you its seems to be such a small thing, dont judge yourself as being a coward because you were scared we all get scared, we just have different things that scare us. Pat yourself on the back for being brave because you are. Im missing seeing you in class but until then (which hopefully will be soon!) join me in class online at www.sydneyyogacollective.com. All info is on the website. Im also running one on one online sessions. If youre interested message me for a chat. Stay well and see you on the mat.

08.01.2022 Happy Winter Solstice! Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year and it is also one of the most powerful for manifestation. Its also a new moon in Cancer so a very nourishing time for creating. I always think of the verse in the song the Rose when I think of winter solstice; Just remember in the winter... far beneath the bitter snow lies the seed that with the suns love in the spring becomes the rose. Its a time for planting seeds and as the days grow longer tending to then with loving care as you head towards summers solstice and your seeds blossom into the roses of your creation. So take some time today to ritualise the planting of your seeds of desire. Do some yoga, meditate, light a candle, and ignite the beginning of the next chapter of your life. @yogi.maya is holding a solstice workshop this evening at 6.30pm that you can watch live online at www.sydneyyogacollective.com. This would be an amazing way to bring in solstice and her solstice workshops are beautiful. My classes this week @sydneyyogacollective ; Tuesday 6.30pm Thursday 9.30am Saturday 9.30am Please note we have a maximum of 10 students and no drop ins so please book ahead. On demand classes will still be available with new content each week if you cant attend. See you on the mat!

08.01.2022 What Nourishes you? And Summer Activation Workshop! Happy Full Moon in Taurus! I was listening to an interview with Brandon Stanton the founder of Humans of New York. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s an awesome collection of photos and stories from everyday people. ... Brandon was asked how he founded it and he said he just wanted a job he could photograph all day, make enough money to pay the rent and be nourished by what he did. I’ve worked in recruitment for years and I’ve heard people use the phrase I want a job I love but never I want a job that nourishes me and as soon as I heard it I thought OMG yes!! That’s exactly the word for what your souls calling does, it nourishes you! I thought about all the different roles I’ve held so far in my life and so many have depleted me and I’ve felt drained after a day’s work. I realised that when I teach yoga or coach a client I walk away feeling nourished from the experience no matter how tired or difficult a day I’ve had. Finding what nourishes you is a gift and every single one of you have the answer to that inside of you. It’s what you research, what lights you up when you talk about it, what captures your attention and what you want to share with others. On December 6 from 12.30pm - 3.00pm Bridget and are holding a Summer Activation Workshop at Sydney Yoga Collective and in this workshop we will be exploring what desires you have that nourish you and how to activate them into your everyday life. There will be Kundalini Yoga, meditation, workshopping and delicious long gong. Summer is a time of doing and this workshop is all about taking action. To book go to https://itsallgoodkundalini.com.au/workshops/ (link also in bio.) My class this week @sydneyyogacollective 6.30pm Tuesday I’m also offering private Kundalini Yoga Classes and one on one consulting using the transformative techniques of Kundalini Yoga. If you are interested please message me and I’ll send you more information. See you on the mat.

This week we are working on the fourth body, and the third of our mental minds, The Neutral Mind. 08.01.2022 Keep up and you’ll be kept up. For the last few weeks I haven’t been keeping up. I’ve been so busy with work and other things in my life my plate is overflowing! As I’ve been taking more and more in, the thing I’ve been forgoing is my usual practice of Kundalini Yoga and I could feel it! ... I wasn’t sleeping well, I was tired, I was feeling overwhelmed on the verge of a panic attack and my energetic foundation that holds me up was becoming wobbly. Kundalini Yoga is my antidepressant. When I don’t take my medicine I feel it. So I committed this week to get my butt back to class and OMG the change that was so quick is amazing and it reminded me how powerful this yoga is! As I was in some challenging postures I could feel my body tremble on every exhale as my nervous system readjusted itself. The results, I slept through the night, I am feeling way less overwhelmed and I feel energised! This yoga is powerful and I love it! I practice it and teach it because I have first hand experience of it’s amazing affects. I’ve watched my students and clients transform and I want everyone to benefit from it! Have you tried it yet? Are you keeping up? My class this week @sydneyyogacollective Tuesday 6.30pm Don’t forget to save the dates for @bridget_hoskins and my: Summer Activation workshop on Sunday 6 December at 2.00pm and Our Radiant Body Retreat from 12-14 March 2021 located on a seriously magnificent property on the beautiful Central Coast. 03.01.2022 How Selfish are you? I was speaking to a client this week about being selfish. She is this amazing powerhouse of creativity and strength yet all her energy is focussed on caring about other people’s needs. I shared with her about Elizabeth Gilbert’s workshop I attended where she announced that she has given up caring for all and sundry and is only caring for those around her she chooses.... Now this doesn’t mean she won’t continue to love and passionately advocate for who and what she believes in. It just means she’s stopped putting her energy into every person that crosses her path, because quite frankly it’s exhausting! I’ve been practicing this not caring gig since that workshop and let me tell you it’s liberating! And what’s interesting is all the amazing opportunities that have started to flow into my life when I stopped spreading my energy into areas and people that were not serving my wellbeing. When you focus your energy on caring about how everyone else feels and their needs you lose site of caring about how you feel and your needs and everything must start with you. To sustain being compassionate for others you must be compassionate with yourself first, after all you can’t pour from an empty cup. We are taught that it’s selfish to focus on our own needs before others but that exactly what you should be, selfish to your needs. There’s a difference between being selfish from the heart and selfish from the ego. From the heart will always be nourishing, from the ego will always become depleting. Now that I’m more focussed on putting energy into my dreams doors are opening where I hadn’t expected and I’ve realised that before there was no space in my vortex for opportunities for me because I was filling my vortex with other people’s dreams and needs leaving no space for my own. So how selfish are you, how much of your vortex is filled with other peoples dreams and needs and how much space is left for you? My class this week at Sydney Yoga Collective: Tuesday 6.30pm Don’t forget to save the dates for Bridget and my: Summer Activation workshop on Sunday 6 December at 2.00pm and Our Radiant Body Retreat from 12-14 March 2021 located on a seriously magnificent property on the beautiful Central Coast. I’m also offering private Kundalini Yoga Classes and one on one consulting using the transformative techniques of Kundalini Yoga. Thank you Kaja for being my muse for my yoga photos. You radiate light!

03.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day! How nice is the weather and with restrictions starting to lift theres a feeling of hope in the air! At the start of this year I decided I was going to get myself out there, get myself a job, travel and start being more socially active.... Well you know what they say about telling God your plans... Although I have used this time to slow down and do things I wouldnt normally do like knit, garden and colour which has been great, in the last week or so, so much time on my hands and little human contact is really starting to get to me. Ive been feeling highly frustrated and anxious with the uncertainty of my future, my patience has been low and my stress levels high. What Ive noticed is the more I do to try and make things happen, the more resistance comes up, ultimately not much eventuates and Im left feeling more frustrated and anxious. So this weekend Ive decided to surrender to my situation, and do nothing. Its not easy as Im someone that by nature is a fixer, but yesterday I put all my problems aside, surrendered to my situation and spent the afternoon repotting my plants and the evening singing eighties songs with my neighbours. It was exactly the respite I needed! Sometimes when the pressure is on and youre trying to make things happen or resolve a problem and youre getting nowhere, to just stop and take a breather is the best medicine. It gives you space to get out of your own way, and it gives the Universe space to do its thing. And you know what I learned from repotting my plants. Theyd outgrown their pots, they were stuck staying small and there new bigger pots will give them the space to spread out and naturally create more of themselves. Resistance takes up space, blocks your path and keeps you stuck. Space brings new ideas, and opportunities that have room to eventuate. So thats what Im doing to make things happen - nothing. Im taking a breather, repotting myself and giving myself space to grow. Its very freeing. Im missing seeing you in class but until then (which hopefully will be soon!) join me in class online at www.sydneyyogacollective.com. Stay well and see you on the mat.

03.01.2022 The Aura. This week we are working on the 7th Body the Aura. Last week was about the 6th body the Arc Line which I like to think of as a force field that protects me from negative energy. It’s the energy field that keeps out what you don’t want coming into your space from far and wide. The Aura protects you from negative energy that’s more close range and it also projects your truth.... What you’re projecting to the world shines through your Aura and energetically communicates where you’re at to others. Your greatness and your weaknesses will both show up in your Aura and people will pick up on this even before meeting you. When you meet someone you already have an idea about each other’s vibe as your both energetically assess each other through your Auras. Your Aura is also known as the 8th chakra if strong it will project up to around 9 feet from your body and it reflects the energy and colours of all your chakras like a rainbow. When all chakras are strong the Aura is strong and will radiate to protect you and project your truth. Kundalini Yoga is like housekeeping for your energy as is energetically cleans and clears your chakras so you radiate strongly. Notice what you attract into your life and what you project out, it will tell you a lot about how your Aura is working for you. I am so excited for our beautiful radiant body retreat from 12-14 March on a magnificent property in Matcham on the Central Coast. This is not just a yoga retreat, this is an opportunity to nurture and treat yourself. This property boasts 5 acres of beautiful grounds to just be. We will have a cooking class with Lorrae our amazing chef for the weekend who’s passion for nourishing delicious food is infectious! Of course there will be amazing Kundalini Yoga, meditation and yummy long gong that is sure to rejuvenate and radiate your being. My class this week @sydneyyogacollective Tuesday 6.30pm I’m also offering private Kundalini Yoga Classes and one on one consulting using the transformative techniques of Kundalini Yoga. 02.01.2022 2020 has been a massive year so far in the world with Bushfires, Corona Virus, Black Lives Matter, the Economy, Isolation and its only half way! The huge uprising for Black Lives Matter worldwide including here in Australia for our indigenous people is so important and a long time coming! The oppression and persecution of black people has gone on far to long and change needs to happen and can only happen if we stand together, listen to each other, speak out and create chang...e. This year has brought the perfect storm for change. Its shaken the ground we stand on to its core, its brought uncertainty, its changed the status quo of what we were used to whether weve liked it or not and its forced us to find our courage, find our voices, listen, speak out, stand up and make change. Change takes courage because change is scary, but staying stuck is more scary. When Rosa Parkes refused to give up her seat to a white person on the bus I bet she was scared, she was risking her life. But her courage to stand up for her right to be equal and free was bigger than her fear and that small step although it had consequences initially, ultimately created a huge step towards change. We are now experiencing many people standing up for their right to be equal, to be free, to be heard and seen and this courage to stand up is what will bring change. My mantra this year and all years to follow is be brave. Be brave to live the life I want, be brave to love, be brave to take a chance, be brave to take that chance, be brave to be vulnerable, be brave to step into uncertainty, be brave to be seen, be brave to be heard, be brave to share my story, be brave to say yes, be brave to say no, be brave to have the hard conversations, be brave to speak my truth, be brave to listen, be brave to see, be brave to stand up for what I believe in, be brave to help create change for a better world. Be brave.

02.01.2022 Last week I listened to @brenebrown podcast with @glennondoyle where she talks about her book Untamed and it got me at my core. She shared a story about a Cheetah called Tabitha that she had watched at the zoo doing a cheetah run. They had tamed this cheetah by having her grow up with a Labrador called Minnie. They taught her to chase a Jeep with a pink bunny tied to it. She never actually caught the bunny and was rewarded with a steak at the finish line. Afterwards in he...r enclosure she was pacing the periphery and Glennon imagines having a conversation with Tabitha asking her what shes feeling. Tabitha says shes imagining a better life for herself with Savannahs, running in open spaces, being wild and free. Then she imagined Tabitha who had only known captivity thinking herself crazy to long for something she has never known and to be grateful for the good life she has. And Glennon says to her youre not crazy, youre a goddamn cheetah! Well in that moment I cried. I cried for the cage I know I have been pacing. I cried for all the yearnings inside of me that Ive pushed down. I cried for allowing myself to settle for less than my worth. I cried because I am that cheetah. All my life I had this voice in my head say theres got to be more than this. Ive told myself that I have a good life, I should be grateful and I am but that whisper has never left me. I have an idea of what I want, I can feel it, taste it but it hasnt come into full form yet. Suffice to say Ive started reading the book. Im also using this time to clean out my real and energetic cupboards to make space for the new. Ive stopped trying to make the things I thought I needed to happen and Im allowing for things to evolve into that place my imagination already knows exists. Im untaming myself. After note: the photo is one I took whilst in an enclosure with a cheetah on a photo shoot. I think I knew then what the cheetah was thinking but it wasnt until Glennon put it into words that I really understood. We all yearn for something that is imagined. We are all that cheetah. What are you yearning for? See you on the mat.

02.01.2022 Sat Nam, Hows everyone doing? Its a cold one here in Sydney this weekend, but the good news is Spring is just around the corner!... At Winter Solstice I quoted a line from the song The Rose. Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snow lies the seed that with the suns love in the spring becomes the rose. Well Spring is nearly here so its time to blossom that seed into your rose! This year has been seriously heavy and that collective heavy energy can be hard to shake. As much as the Covid situation may be here for a while you can still lighten your energetic load and get busy creating what you want to achieve over the next few months. To help you do this, Im holding a Spring Rejuvenation Workshop on Saturday 12 September from 2.00pm-4.30pm at Sydney Yoga Collective Level 2, 51-53 Spring Street Bondi Junction. cost: $60 Think of it as a Spring Clean to wash away the heaviness of this year so you can create space to manifest your dreams! 01.01.2022 The mind loves to tell stories and when the mind is in check and under your control these stories can be wonderful creations of your imagination. With everything that is going right now and the high level of uncertainty, if the mind is left to its own devises to race off on tangents those stories can become frightening and lead to more fear and uncertainty. This is why its so important to be the master of your mind and not your mind mastering you. ... Todays meditation helps you to slow the thoughts and take control of where you want your mind to go. Give it a go and see how you feel. Sydney Yoga Collective is offering live streamed yoga classes. We have 32 classes a week including: Vinyasa Yin Kundalini Restorative Mums and Bubs Prenatal and Naam Its $10/week, but if you are currently out of work we are offering you this for FREE for a month to help support you. Just go to http://www.sydneyyogacollective.com/livestream or message me for more info. Stay well and see you on the mat.
