This is the Jindabyne Cat Trap with the treadle plate on the floor that activates the trap door behind it when the animal steps on this plate. Open a small tin of sardines or cat food and drip the oil scent out a meter or two in front of the trap entry. Slide the rear door up to tie th...e tin of food to the floor so that it does not slide under the plate. Or dig a small hole and put the cat food in it and place the sheet metal end of the trap over the food. Slide up the locking bar to open the front door parallel to the ground and set the trap with the rod over the handle. Anchor the trap to the ground with a tent peg in each corner so a large trapped feral cat cannot roll the cage upside down and escape. Trapped feral cats want to kill you. They are seriously aggressive and dangerous. Decide what you are going to do with the trapped animal before you start trapping.
