25.01.2022 Last Saturday I got to head back to Gabbinbar Homestead for my final wedding of the year with Tabitha and Beau, and what a bloody ripper to close out 2018 with! Two absolute stunners with a bunch of super fun guests partying like its their wedding day. Although Im the only one without a drink, I almost definitely polished off a Hahn SuperDry seconds before the photo was taken. Congrats ya mega babes!!
25.01.2022 When your parents have 300 acres of beautiful country land youd be mad not to get married there, luckily Ed isnt mad. On Saturday arvo I headed South West to marry Ed and Liz with a hundred or so of their closest mates. They live in Sydney and I dont, so I only got to meet these legends in person a few days before it all went down. Fortunately, that was all we needed. By Saturday it was just like hanging out with a couple of friends for a few hours while they dropped s...ome killer vows, said I do, and I pinched a few glasses of champers. After waiting a responsible amount of time before getting behind the wheel I started cruising down the bumpy kilometere long driveway as the sun was setting in front of me, and an epic party was kicking off in my rear view mirror. Reminiscing on what a smashing ceremony Id just experienced I threw a little fist pump out the window in celebration of this magic arvo - picture Judd Nelson at the end of The Breakfast Club. Congrats Mr and Mrs Higgins!! See more
24.01.2022 On Saturday arvo I got to marry fun people surrounded by lots of other fun people for the first time in a very long time and it was a bloody hoot! When Lachlan and Wendy first met he took her out to a beer tasting at his favourite watering hole The Scratch. I use quotation marks because I’m pretty sure it was just an excuse for a few cheeky drinks. Lachlan was right into his craft ales, Wendy not such a huge fan, however she thought she might be able to swing him over to ...the Corona side of the fence (the beer, not the virus). She couldn’t, but it didn’t matter because everything else was bloody perfect. A few years and a pandemic later and they married at the Valley’s best place to marry, High Church Brisbane. I loved hanging out with these guys, so much that my right hand wanted to seal our friendship forever with a spit handshake, but that isn’t COVID safe. That’s why my left hand is holding him in place. It was so damn great to get out and do some marrying again, I just had to celebrate afterwards. Craft beer gives me a rash, literally, so I recognized the occasion with a few Hahn 3.5’s instead. God’s nectar.
23.01.2022 Hey guys, what are we talking about? I like to talk too. Rachel and Mitch, minus Rachel, plus me boning in on the conversations at The Gardens Club. by Tim Harris Photography.
23.01.2022 This weekend Ive been hosting the Kitchen and Lifestyle stage at the Moreton Bay Food and Wine Festival. Bloody top event, if youre looking for something to do on this spectacular Sunday, give this a shot. I tried half of the food stalls yesterday and plan on giving the rest a good nudge today. Im here till 3. Wear stretchy pants. Heres my new friends Dexter and Carly from Taste of Oak, lovely folk, come say hey! #moretonbayfoodandwinefestival
22.01.2022 Alright party people, if youre a big fan of the the legally recognised union of two people as partners in a personal relationship, put your flippin hands in the air and let me hear you say HEYOOOOO!! Stories by Ash caught this beauty at Gina and Marks wedding back in June last year at Canvas. Great couple, great photographer, great venue, bloody weird lookin Celebrant.
21.01.2022 Yesterday afternoon was spent marrying and laughing with Courtney + Andrew at Branell Homestead. Super fun ceremony, with plenty of zesty banter between Mr and Mrs. May I please have more weddings at Branell? Such a good venue and its like half an hour from my house...which is great for the ol fuel budget. E.L Simpson Photography shot the day and the legends from The Chevy Bar were in town pouring schooies of my mate Hahn Super Dry. Andrew and Courtney, I hope you both had the most splendid evening! Cheers lovers!! #PurseWedding
21.01.2022 Brisbane got a little silly with the weather today, but we had a roof over our heads and big bloody smiles on our faces as Ashleigh + Luke got married, with their son Louis watching on making sure everything was legit. Ash + Luke are two of the most easy going legends youll come across, everything about today was super chill and awesome. Louis had two requests - he wanted brown cake (chocolate) and balloons. Im pretty sure theyve got the cake sorted but didnt know if ...there would be balloons here, so I made a quick detour to 7-11 on the way in to make sure the little man could throw around sacks of human air all night. He seemed happy enough with the gift, so every new booking now comes with a free wish granted to the value of $3.90 or less. Today all went down at Brisbane Sailing Squadron with Made To Match Events nailing the styling and Shae Estella Photo on photo duties. #ShreddingAtTheAltar
21.01.2022 Sharing a green room with Humphrey B. Bear? Put a fork in me, Im done. #CareerHighlight #LevelUp
21.01.2022 Absolute bloody treat of an afternoon with Simon and Kristy turning them into husband and wife (photo proof to come). Now its time for a swing with this little champion (photo proof attached).

20.01.2022 Celebrant Lady Love, E.L Simpson Photography and Pineapple Images Wedding Photography + Film are running a monster comp called #hitchedafnz where you can get a crazy good elopement sorted for freeeee. Yep, a whole package INCLUDING a helicopter flight! Amazing. If you win and mention my name instead of saying I now pronounce you blah blah blah Annie will yell Quick! Get to the chopper! Maybe. I havent actually asked her, but Im sure shed be up for it. Its closing soon, so jump over to any of the ladies pages for deets and get on board!
18.01.2022 Normally when Im marrying people I make a hasty exit 30 mins or so post ceremony before I make too much of a goose of myself. On the odd occasion where Ive known the bride and/or groom for a while (nearly a decade in this case) I sometimes get to stick around for all the evening shenanigans. Theres really only one rule to putting together a cracking wedding - look after your guests...if theyre having a great time you will too. Krystel and Jacob really nailed that! Yes...terday they put together a mammoth celebration at Stamford Plaza Brisbane that lined up quite well with a little river fireworks display to kick the evening off. The ceremony had Angel Strings playing them down the aisle, Ally + Sarah sending them out as husband and wife, Event Letters lighting things up, and me spinning a few words in between. These guys are two of the hardest working, giving, lovable and fun legends around and I was bloody honored to be a part of it all. Definitely one of the most epic weddings Ive been to. Huge congrats Mr and Mrs Wilson!! #KrystelWinsTheJakepot
18.01.2022 Photo proof as promised: Mr and Mrs Weier! It was an absolute delight to spend Saturday arvo with Kristy and Simon at the very beautiful Preston Peak Functions. Side note if you want to get married in T-ba check this place out. Matt is a great operator and runs a super tight ship, plus the view is epic. And I got to hang with the lovely ladies from Lucy Sheedy Photographer and Fable House Films - another bonus. Congrats again champions! Enjoy saying were the Weiers until it stops being fun...which will probably be never!
18.01.2022 On Saturday arvo/evening I married Tamsyn + Valdis as Brissies Latvian Hall in Woolloongabba. Bloody great weather for a September wedding - 5pm kick off meant less sweat and more fun! It takes some pretty deep vows to make me tear up, and Tamsyn surprising Valdis with hers in Latvian nearly did the trick. Side note - Eilish Ellen on the G-tar and vocals...absolutely smashed it! Check her out if youre on the hunt for some smooth tunes
17.01.2022 Sometimes when I laugh really hard my right arm uncontrollably flails above my head...not a very appropriate move to pull at a wedding, but I cant help it. Heres my left arm keeping the right arm in place. Thatll do left arm, thatll do. Kristy and Jordan in the beautiful yard of Kristys parents place. by Coffee and Hops
17.01.2022 I took a wee trip out West to Dalby yesterday to marry Toni and Blake at the Showgrounds and had a bloody top arvo! Super fun group of family and friends and brilliant weather to get the party started. I always get nervous when couples want me to hang onto the rings, luckily their little lad Dawson was in charge of theirs. Decked out with a security badge and locked briefcase he powered down the aisle and delivered the goods safely when required. Excellent work Congrats champions!
17.01.2022 A mammoth day getting out to Narrabri to marry the super fun Tim and Renee at Tims parents property. Today was the first time wed actually met in the flesh, everything up until now was over FaceTime but instantly it was just like hanging out with a few mates. Ceremony was a friggin hoot, we got their three year old nephew Clive involved for a midway Q+A and he bloody smashed it. Tim and Renee were guests at a wedding I did a few years back for Danni and Jono, so I got to ...catch up with them which was a nice little bonus. Make Ones Way Weddings were on duties and Morelife Films shooting the - both up from Newcastle for the day and my favorite type of professionals that make weddings run so smoothly. FYI Monty King Celebrations, Jade had many lovely things to say about you and your marrying skills Tomorrow I trek from Warwick to Strathpine for some hosting duties at the Moreton Kids Festival. But first: #TheMeadToBeAMurray
16.01.2022 Michael + Grace: Married at the very photogenic BRISBANE POWERHOUSE a few weeks back. Heaps of people rock up here for their post-wedding pics re: all the cool spots for photos. Save yourself the hassle moving around and just get married upstairs on the deck like these guys did. M+ Gs day had a lot of things that I think make the best weddings. - Great looking couple - Winter wedding (it is QLD after all) - Chilled vibe - Live music... - Fun guests - Awesome Celebrant (questionable) Big congrats guys!!
16.01.2022 Definitely one of the wildest Sundays Ive had in a while! Today Im hosting Oktoberfest at the Munich Brauhaus. Yelling German things into a microphone until about 8pm, come grab a beer or eleven
15.01.2022 This is the cute face I make when Im trying not to laugh at one of my well crafted, impeccably timed, and brilliantly delivered jokes. Bec and Byrenn couldnt contain theirs. Shot by Lucy Sheedy Photographer at my favourite venue Gabbinbar Homestead way back in 2018 when we could still hug and kiss and spit in our hands and shake them.
15.01.2022 I havent posted for a while. Life got a bit crazy and Ive prioritized spending more time manicuring my lawn rather than posting gold on the socials. Peak Dad life. Since my last post the world has basically flipped on its head and gone fully bonkers. Crazy times. I had a few really fun looking weddings lined up for this year, and overnight theyve just disappeared. For now at least. Once we get through 2020s version of Fyre Fest well pick up where we left off and ...party harder than ever. Until then, my weekends are looking pretty free for the foreseeable future, and according to my fiancé mowing the lawn both morning and afternoon is apparently overkill . So Im going to make an effort to post some of the happy snaps from previous weddings that have been sitting unused in my inbox until I can start posting new ones again. Maybe some of the people Ive married will see them and smile, maybe people whose weddings have been put on hold will see them and smile. Maybe my social media reach is so low it will have literally no impact whatsoever. Who knows. At the very least Ill smile while Im going through them all and reminiscing about the bloody marvellous parties from years gone by. For now, heres a photo of me working from home/multitasking like a boss. Totally candid shot, didnt set this up in anyway. See more
14.01.2022 A few years ago I spent my Friday and Saturday nights working behind a bar. Shit work, but the staff there were hella fun. This year Im lucky enough to be marrying two of the babes I used to work with, and yesterday it was Paulas turn. Paula and Chris met at a UFC gig, the same way most romantic stories start. They both love gym, the Broncos, pizza, spicy Doritos and each other. Good match. Plus theyre solid 10 hotties! We partied at Sol Gardens (awesome venue on th...e GC) with tunes from the legend The Guy In The Bow Tie - Jake Meywes (awesome fella on the ) Jasmine manages things at Sol, Ive worked with her before and she really knows how to run a mean wedding! Jake is talented AF. When he was sound checking I thought it was a recording. Nahhh just his sexy voice. Heart and Colour did the and Grace Wriggles Film & Images did the . Super fun crew to hang with. Congrats you mega babes!! #MrAndMrsDavidson See more
14.01.2022 Absolutely cracking afternoon yesterday for Marlies and Josh to tie the knot at Brockhurst Farm. I met these two legends through my good mate Erin Woodhall Celebrant, but Marlies and Josh met each other when Marlies ripped out the all time classic pickup move, The Pash and Dash while on a night out about a decade ago. Im bloody glad Erin introduced us all, Mr and Mrs Wickes are two of the funnest people Ive been lucky enough to marry, and can hang shit on each other in the most loving way like Ive never seen before. Their family and friends were a hoot as well too. Congrats again guys, I hope you had as much fun as I did!
14.01.2022 Todays wedding was all a bit hush hush, so no pics of Mr and Mrs. Instead, heres a shot of a fucking giant bottle of Campari that was sitting on the bar at Canvas. It was either that or one of my 40 odd bathroom selfies where the light was really making my outfit pop.
13.01.2022 Today was my last wedding for the year and it was an absolute belter to cap off an amazing 2019! Ben and Eleanor are easily my favourite Far North Queenslander/English duo Ive ever married, so much that I accidentally followed them to Cairns on a trip earlier this year. Accidentally. Surprisingly, theyre also the best rap duo since Outkast, undisputed. Beautiful arvo at Ecostudio Fellini with Ben and Elles family providing music for the ceremony along with the greates...t original readings Ive ever heard, and the legends from Rawn and Pallow Photography were in town capturing the magic in photo form. Thats me done on the wedding front for a few months. Ill probably slide into your newsfeed with a few MC gigs here and there. Theres room for about four or five more couples in 2020, then Ill be sending any other enquiries to my favourite other celebrants...so if you dont want to get that kind of email hit me up soon! #ElleAboardTheColeTrain
13.01.2022 After a few months out of the game I finally got some wedding on and popped out to Walkabout Creek Events last Saturday to marry the delightful Alasdair and Emily. One of those ceremonies thats such a breeze to do because Mr and Mrs Cameron made everything so damn easy. I also bumped into Felix from Redtie Entertainment who was in charge of tunes for the day and ripped out some bloody tight covers. Super fun arvo, congrats champions! #Cameron19
13.01.2022 Todays a bit wet, but yesterday was perfect celebrating with my pals Daley + Neal. Classic boys meets girl, boys takes girl on terrifying night snorkeling experience, boy and girl get married story. You know the drill. Great excuse to get back to my favourite, Preston Peak Functions to hang with Matt for a while. Ive said it before and Ill bloody say it again Preston Peak has got to be one of the best venues around with the most efficient team of staff youll find. A...lso spent a good half hour yarning with Kait Photography. Check out her pics, theyre nuts! I had a big old grin on my face for most of the drive home from T-ba from, A. Listening to new Greta Van Fleet B. Smashing a pair of cheeseburgers, and C. Thinking about how friggin delightful the arvo was! Congrats again Deal!
13.01.2022 Like all great love stories, Lisa + Michaels started in prison. After meeting at work, kissing at the work Christmas party, and then falling in love surrounded by bad dudes in jumpsuits, they finally locked it down on Saturday arvo at Coolibah Downs Private Estate. Huge congrats to my new favourite prison guards, and please look after me if I ever do hard time!
13.01.2022 It’s been a little while since I’ve MC’d an event re: COVID, but things are slowly getting more normal and I’m back at it today encouraging kids to play a fun social distancing game, wash their hands, and refrain from sneezing in peoples faces at the Moreton Kids Festival. I’m also learning heaps of environmental and animal facts like recycling is cool and drop bears are real. #SundayFunday #RecycleYourMess #LookUpAndLive
10.01.2022 Last Saturday I got to pop down to Sirromet Wines for a few hours and marry a couple of my favourite people, Tom and Emily. I first met Tom about three years ago while I was hosting a trivia gig at the Aussie Nash. Toms team initially stood out to me, as they turned up every week with a fantastically relevant and hilarious team name. As a trivia host, when you regularly get the O-Trivia Newton John or Quiz on My Face team name gag week in/week out, this was very refreshing. Turned out Tom was just a good bloke too, so thats nice. Then, through Tom I got to meet Emily, who is equally as delightful and fun as Tom and she became #HackettsBestGal. Beautiful venue, cracking weather, and the babes from Yellowbull Weddings were lurking around with their cameras, capturing some pretty top stuff. Congrats guys, bloody fun arvo!
09.01.2022 HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT! Im not normally the kind of guy that does the whole announcement thing on the socials. Usually when a Celebrant is announcing something its pretty lameitll be along the lines of a new logo, a witty blog post, or sometimes theyre announcing that an announcement is coming soon. This is none of those things. With a significant social media presence building it wont come as a surprise to you that I would leverage this and partner with a serious brand ...and/or company in a mutually beneficial promotion. The time for that promotion has come. Sam OSullivan is officially working side by side with none other than Hamish & Andy! Weve joined forces to offer a 10% discount to all new couples that present their Hamish and Andy Loyalty card when booking. You get 10% off, then I get 5% back as a rebate. Its a win for everyone! You get a little, I get a little, the economy gets a little. With COVID really messing with everyones shit, what better way to get things stimulated again! Make sure you sign up at www.hamishandandy.com/loyalty/ if you want to be part of this very special offer. P.S. The photo is from 2011. Were waiting on some updated promo shots...
09.01.2022 This is the awkward pose I make when I’m taking a COVID safe photo. I ripped this one out a week ago at Jo and Andrew’s wedding at Bakehouse Steakhouse. They had to change their plans about a hundred times and made the absolute best of a shit situation. Super great arvo at a wicked venue, but hopefully this is all over soon so I can stop standing like a doofus...
09.01.2022 An Engineer and a Scientist walk into a comedy gig, yada yada yada...wedding! Gemma + Austen: a relationship built on pretty solid foundations - a one-on-one dessert making challenge Married yesterday at Obi Obi & Kidaman Creek Community Hall, on Obi Obi Road, in Obi Obi. Never heard of Obi Obi? I hadnt either, until they invited me up for the day and what a bloody great spot to get hitched and party! Middle of nowhere and its got everything you need to celebrate with your best people. Pics by Savvy Creative, marriage by me, pretty much everything else DIY
07.01.2022 Back to work today MCing Australia Day at Bribie Island. How would I describe it in one word? Thanks for asking. HOT! The weather, not me. Although, you could do worse if Im honest. The safety device behind me is of no use for this kind of heat so excuse me while I put my head in an esky before I need to go say more words at people.
04.01.2022 After my last wedding for 2018 in November I planned on ditching the socials for a few weeks, blinked, and now its nearly the end of January. Whoops. I promise my marriage creation game is much better than my social content creation game. So to quickly sum up the last few months in dot points (not in order of importance)... - Sonny got a trampoline and it does funny things to his hair. - Sunscreen gives me a rash now. - Were having another baby pretty soon. - I got a big... old blister from building the aforementioned trampoline and next to no sympathy from anyone. Re: the second baby. I still love marrying people and marrying people I still will. But I definitely want to be able to spend more weekends with the fiancé, the little man and his sister who will join us soon. So youll still see me pop up on here from time to time, marrying people and then begging them for a photo. But maybe a little less than last year and definitely less than the year before.
03.01.2022 LEGO Masters > Game of Thrones. Change my mind.
03.01.2022 I’m really bad at updating the socials, it can be hard to find great content when there’s so few weddings happening. I’ve been reading a marketing book for some tips and this expert reckons one of the best ways to promote yourself on social media is by prominently displaying your awards and achievements so prospective customers will recognise you as a legitimate and authentic person, rather than an online stranger. Well, I found this very prestigious award while cleaning out some old school stuff the other day. If you’d like to have the Karalee State School 1999 Year 7 Speech Champion as your Celebrant and/or MC in 2021, you should probably book soon before someone else does. Consider yourself marketed to!
02.01.2022 I dont remember what I was saying here, but whatever it was, it was really important that Courtney was on board with it. Courtney and Andrew at Branell Homestead. Pic by the legendary E.L Simpson Photography.
02.01.2022 Bloody marvellous afternoon yesterday with the super delightful Rachel + Mitch. Theres nothing better than marrying genuinely good people, and these guys stink of good. Mitch loves sport, Rachel loves dogs, and I love them. Didnt hurt that the rain disappeared and we got to hang at the beautiful The Gardens Club with Nathan Merriweather dropping sultry tunes in the background. All the best guys, and youll just have to deal with receiving the occasional pupper meme from me for the rest of your lives...part of the package! #ItsSamOSullivan #MarriedBySamOSullivan #Marriage #Celebrant #Brisbane #Wedding #BrisbaneWedding #BrisbaneCelebrant
01.01.2022 Yesterday I finally got to make a marriage at Gabbinbar Homestead with Bec + Byrenn and holy shit what a venue! Theres two places in T-ba Id highly recommend getting hitched at, and this is one of them. If you want to have a great wedding, a huge part of that is making your guests comfortable. Gabbinbar looks after your peeps really, really well, which meant Bec + Byrenns VIPs had just as much fun as I did. After meeting on the interwebs and then soon after in real lif...e, they kind of just never stopped hanging out together and then yada yada yada theyre married! Im a big fan of these two, and hearing their vows to each other was pretty bloody special. A big part of enjoyable weddingS (for me) are the ones with a great/nice/decent human photographer or videographer and yesterday I was blessed with two crackers. Got to hang with my pal Lucy Sheedy Photographer again and Joe from Perception Productions was a bloody delight to work with. Congrats again guys, glad the rain held off! And Gabbinbar Ill see you again in November! #ItsSamOSullivan #MarriedBySamOSullivan #Marriage #Celebrant #Toowoomba #Wedding #ToowoombaWedding #ToowoombaCelebrant
01.01.2022 Im a bit slow on the socials these days, but on Saturday arvo I got to marry Susan and Brad in the middle of the rainforest at O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat. A ceremony filled with all the important stuff love, laughter, fun, and the odd fart joke, in a super cool and intimate location. Venue hunting? Oreillys is a very solid choice for your ceremony, and if youre going to pick somewhere like that youll need some good shots of it grab the lovely ladies from Brides Best Friend Photography like Mr and Mrs Funnell did. Congrats again you guys!!
