13.01.2022 ELIMINATOR PREVIEW Match 6 Sixers Cricket Club vs Randwick Raiders Venue Analysis... Playford Park is as good as it gets when it comes to drainage. Expect a fast outfield and runs on offer. Generally the pitch doesn't offer much pace or bounce and its a dream for batsman and fielders. Team Analysis Wow! A match worthy of a Grand Final - A repeat of the All Star Semi Final. Nearly 400 runs were scored between the sides in that encounter and they face each other for the second time. Sixers have been dominant throughout the competition except for the few occasions they have experimented they have looked generally very solid. Easily they are also the best fielding side in the competition. Randwick Raiders have been hot and cold throughout - scoring 200 plus one day, losing to lower ranked opponents the next and then coming back to finish games off within the first powerplay! Its hard to say which RR will take the field on Sunday but if they are on song they have too many talented cricketers which can easily dominate games. Players to Watch Sohag's batting has been exceptional simply said he has been among the best when it comes to T20 power hitting. The worry for Sixers has been the form of MS who despite being in good form off the pitch in his administrative roles, has not had the same impact in the middle with the bat which he is capable of. RR's Naimul, Shariful, Probal, Jamil and Tanzeelur can all turn it around with the bat and be counted. With the ball Rifat is expected to wreck havoc however the form of Nasa has been a slight concern, and with wet conditions expected Sixers might be able to dominate any spin bowlers easily. Prediction For RR this is a straight knockout game regardless of what happens in other games. Fully expect the real RR to stand up while the rest of the community will be cheering on for Sixers and praying for an early RR exit. The youngsters in the Sixers rank will come up like fire for this clash and have the talent and capability as well. Playford has been one of the top venues this season, a fast outfield, good batting track and excellent drainage should provide both teams a wonderful platform to perform. Team Analysis Undefeated SBT have been clinical in their performances in a deadly Group C, whereas the Assassins have diligently qualified from Group B. SBT performed very well against the tougher teams in their group whereas Assassins main defeats came at the hands of the 3 tougher teams in their group. It will be interesting to see how the Assassins cope in a big pressure game. As for SBT having come ranked 2nd gives them the upperhand to once play a second round match in their career without the pressure of being knocked out. Players to Watch Well its hard to go past someone who has been man of the match in 4 games in a row! The stunning form of Sam from SBT makes him the most in-form player among all players in the competition. While he is the one to watch out for, SBT have plenty of other players that can also steal the show. As for Assassins the stage is set for their batting order to shine in a ground and against an opponent they know very well. If Majid and Rony get going a win for the Assassins could well be on the cards as they would feel their bowlers have it in them to defend any target. The key to unlocking opposition batting was only shown by Power Source against Saints, expect a high scoring game with free flowing runs. Team Analysis An efficient Strikers face a determined Burners. This game is a Group A rematch with Strikers just edging Burners during their group stage clash. Both teams know each other really well having played against each other numerous times in the past. Burners have a very strong bowling line up which has started to click in the vital moment, however their middle order batting has been slow and they will be disappointed at not having dominated with the bat in the past weeks. Strikers on the other hand could not be any more happier coming out on top in Group A. Players to Watch Minhaj has the ability to turn the ball both ways and has been the X factor for Strikers while with the bat they have effective batsman who can squeeze out the game even lower down the order. It will be a revist to the Kendall Reserve for Friends XI after having lifted a trophy there not too long ago. The wicket is known to help spinners and often if its windy and overcast it can be a difficult place to bat. Team Analysis On form and on a winning run, the Friends XI team have been playing some fantastic cricket. A very strong bowling side, they have also put any doubts on their batting behind having scored big in their last couple of games.
