23.01.2022 SPONTANEOUS EXPERIENECE - PLAYING WITH FLOUR Sticky playdough is the worst, so we decided to add some flour to the mix. This turned into the children choosing to just play with the flour. They loved it!!! They made mountains and drew in the flour with their finger. They patted it on their face and arms too.... Yep, it was messy BUT it was fun! See more

22.01.2022 LEGO PAINTING This week the children are painting using Lego Duplo blocks. I love how creative the kids get with this activity. Some creatrive ideas included stamping different colours on top of each other, swriling the blocks aroung and folding the paper in half after painting to create a mirror image.

22.01.2022 Take a moment to watch this video. It could just save someone's life!

I want to take this time to say thank you to everyone for their ongoing support with Itsy Bitsy Bowerbirds. Thank you to Belinda Dahl from Dahling Creations Photography for doing such an amazing job on the maternity shoot and providing me with the fabulous sneak peek (It was tough to choose from so many great photos). https://www.facebook.com/DahlingCreationsPhotography/ A special thanks to all of the families who supported me throughout my pregnancy. You have all been amazing and I truly feel I am so lucky to have been able to work with such great people. My daughter and I will miss you and your wonderful children who have become our second family. I hope we will be able to catch up in the not too distant future. We hope you enjoy this final week with us xx

16.01.2022 This week we can enjoy some strawberries and watermelon with our morning tea while afternoon tea is a different treat each afternoon, including raisin toast, saladas, muffins and our mixed paltter.

16.01.2022 INSECT / BUG COLLAGE Last week the children enjoyed putting together an insect/bug collage. They each selected a coloured piece of paper to work on and used some paste to glue coloured straw, patty cases, shredded green materials and foam insects onto their masterpiece. Many children took their time to ensure theeir work was perfect and it showed in the final product :)

16.01.2022 M IS FOR MUSHROOM Last week the children tried out painting with mushrooms. This made some cool mushroom shapes on their paper but also got their hands very messy, so naturally the mushroom painting turned into finger painting and where there's finger painting there is lots of fun to be had by all!

15.01.2022 HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY!!!! A big happy birthday to one of our children who turned 5 over the weekend. Just a couple of snaps of the special afternoon tea we had on Friday to help celebrate. We hope you had an amazing birthday!

11.01.2022 L IS FOR LION This week we have been making paper plate lion faces. Children enjoyed painting their lion's face using yellowm, brown and orange paints. Once they dried they took a pair of scissors and snipped the edges around the plate. Two googly eyes later and we had our lion.

09.01.2022 I've swapped Strawberries for banana and oranges for mandarins this week. For afternoon tea the children can enjoy some wholemeal crumpets as something a little different this week

08.01.2022 PATTY PAN LADY BUGS Last week the children got involved with making some lady bugs out of patty cases and black paint. They each selected a colour paper to glue the lady bug to and painted the legs and spots onto their lady bug. To complete it they glued a piece of precut black material for the head and two googly eyes.

07.01.2022 SILVER FOIL KEYS Last week the children enjoyed covering a printed key with some foil. This was a great activity for all ages here. One of the younger children had loads of fun placing his hands into the bowl to explore and play with the foil. It was nice to watch the keys come to life as they glued each piece on.

06.01.2022 L IS FOR LOVE - WATERRCOLOUR PAINTING Last week the kids loved painting a LOVE colouring in sheet. Every child had a turn (even the littlies) to paint their own page and select from a variety of colours. I loved watching them bring their paper to life. Some created new interesting colour mixes.

06.01.2022 MIRROR PAINTING This week the children explored painting using small square mirrors. Some children chose to use their reflection to create their work of art, others preffered to cover the mirror in paint. Either way they had a ball doing it. We used a clean sheet of paper to press onto their mirror images allowing them to keep their creation. The children were keen to do this themselves and also clean the mirror afterwards so they could create a new masterpiece.
