Posting this definition of an Assistance Animal: Section 9.2 of the Australian [Commonwealth] Disability Discrimination Act, 1992 (the DDA) provides a very clear legal definition of an Assistance Animal and its role: (2) For the purposes of this Act, an Assistance Animal is a dog or other animal: (a) accredited under a law of a State or Territory that provides for the accreditation of animals trained to assist a person with a disability to a...lleviate the effect of the disability; or (b) accredited by an animal training organisation prescribed by the regulations for the purposes of this paragraph; or (c) trained: (i) to assist a person with a disability to alleviate the effect of the disability; and (ii) to meet standards of hygiene and behaviour that are appropriate for an animal in a public place. 18.01.2022 Some more about us... We breed; raise; train and place ANKC Registered pedigreed, health-tested Standard Poodles to work as Assistance Dogs for people with disabilities, severe allergies or other medical conditions. Some of our Poodles are placed as Specialised Working Dogs. We are near Goulburn in NSW Australia. We occasionally also have pet companion dogs to place. We chose IUVO as our Breeder Prefix and for part of our company name as in Latin IUVO means " help, aid, assi...st". We have a panel of highly experienced Assistance Dog [AD] Team Trainers [& PAT Assessors] that train our IUVO puppies and our IUVO more mature dogs. Each trainer is an independent contractor to us and has their own dog training business. Those Trainers also train IUVO’s Specialised Working Dogs. All training is done with our IUVO Trainer Panel Trainers. The training is all documented; sometimes photographed; sometimes video recorded, but is usually recorded live into our training software which is encrypted and securely stored off-site with our software via secure individual log-ins. We don’t place any IUVO Assistance Dogs in training with people who want to select their own trainer or people who want to train their dog by themselves. On a case by case basis we will consider an experienced Assistance Dog Trainer joining IUVO’s AD Handler Team Trainer Panel or a registered Assistance Dog Organisation applying for one of our Assistance Dogs in Training. All our pups & dogs are de-sexed before placement. We welcome your initial enquiry via this facebook IUVO company page, however, we ask that any specific discussions, personal information or sensitive information be by email, telephone and mail to ensure your privacy. We raise, train and place our IUVO dogs based on nurtured training from a very young age for their professionally assessed best skill-set, so we may Wait-List successful applicants if we don’t have an IUVO dog at the time with the skill-set appropriate for that successful applicant. To read our Privacy Policy please ask us for it by sending us a message. When our web site is launched, we will add the link to our Privacy Policy on our web site. IUVO’s Dogs NSW ANKC Registered Breeder Membership is under Linda Fraser, our Director, Member No: 2100063199 and our Breeder Prefix is IUVO [S L Fraser always called Linda]. "Assistance Dog" is an "Assistance Animal" which is the Australian Government name. Assistance Dog is equal rank here to "Service Dog" in the USA.

01.01.2022 Thank you Randwick City Council! Post says: "We received this beautiful picture and note from Carmela, Zac's mum (who is shown here). She said: "Thank you so much for providing accessibility for all especially our little boy Zac who has a spinal cord injury. He had the best day walking independently to the shore at Malabar beach." Thank you so much for contacting us - we are so proud to be able to help Zac walk to the shore all by himself. Go Zac!"
