20.01.2022 Grief; it affects us all differently. If you’re struggling, know that it’s natural. You’re not alone, and it’s okay to ask for help if you feel your overwhelmed. #griefawarenessday #afda

15.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads and father figures in our lives. Thanks for all of the love, care, support and guidance you’ve shared with us. For some, particularly those who have farewelled their Dad recently, this will be a very different Father’s Day. Although no longer with us, they are still very much loved and cherished.

13.01.2022 COVID-19 At Ivan Butler Funerals, we are committed to serving the community, with professional and caring funeral service. We are privileged to care for the deceased, and their loved ones, in their time of need. The current situation that we are all facing is unprecedented on a local, national, and global scale, in the modern era.... Along with the dignified care of the deceased, we are committed to the health, safety, and well-being of our client families, members of the public, and our staff. We are taking precautions within our funeral home to ensure that we minimise the risk of transmission of the virus. The Australian Funeral Directors Association has been in close, regular contact with the Federal Government, seeking advice and counsel regarding how the funeral industry needs to react in the coming days, weeks and months. In light of this morning’s announcement by the Prime Minister relating to limits on the size of indoor public gatherings, we are considering all available options in order to continue to serve the public in their time of need. We will discuss and work through these options with each family, to ensure that we establish the most appropriate for them. It is important to remember that you should never feel rushed during a time of grief. I’m sure we are all concerned about, and committed to, mitigating the spread of this virus, and want to help to ‘flatten the curve’. With this in mind, it may be that if you have an enquiry regarding funeral service, particularly if it is pre-need, you may prefer to contact us via phone; (08) 8261 8211; email; [email protected]; or our website; www.ivanbutlerfunerals.com.au. Our website contains a great deal of information, including opportunity to provide the relevant personal details we require for either an at-need or pre-need arrangement. When visiting our funeral home, or if you’re out in public for other reasons, it is prudent to follow the advice from health experts to minimise physical contact, and respect the wishes for others to maintain a safer social distance, without judgement. When offering your condolences to someone, rather than a handshake or a hug, consider placing your hand over your heart. It is these small gestures, that not only show that you care, but will go a long way to reducing the risk of further spreading the virus. We are all in this together, so let’s continue to support each other to the best of our abilities. www.health.gov.au @healthgovau www.sahealth.sa.gov.au #covid19

10.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE It goes without saying that things are developing each day, and our way of life will be very different for the foreseeable future. This, as we know, has had an enormous impact on the way we interact in social and public gatherings, including funerals.... The Prime Minister announced last night that the restrictions now in place for the number of people permitted to be in attendance at a funeral service has been reduced to 10; this includes the celebrant/minister and funeral staff, and applies for both indoor and outdoor services, regardless of the location. No matter what, the care of the deceased is of paramount importance. We will continue to carry out this vital role in the community with dignity, empathy and professionalism. As always, we will also continue to support you in your time of need to the best of our abilities. The importance of our loved ones, and the ways in which we remember them has not and will not change, but perhaps the way that we celebrate their lives during this crisis will. #weareinthistogether

08.01.2022 In 2020, ANZAC Day presents a unique opportunity to pay your respects to those who have served before us, and continue to serve for us. Whether you normally attend a Dawn Service or not, this year, because the social restrictions in place mean we can't gather together as per usual, the suggestion is that we stand at the end of our driveway, on our porch, or on our balcony from 5:55am and light a candle. Together, let's continue to honour the ANZAC spirit, and #LightUpTheDawn http://rslsa.org.au/light-up-the-dawn/ https://www.rslqld.org/ANZACspirit

08.01.2022 You have the power to improve the lives of those around you. No matter how small, every act of kindness and compassion makes a difference. #internationaldayofcharity #AFDA

06.01.2022 And off it goes. The next time we see this faithful VF Calais, one of the last Aussie built Holdens, it will have been transformed to a beautiful new hearse. We can’t wait!

05.01.2022 We, like all who work in the funeral industry, not just funeral directors, will continue to care for the deceased, in these very challenging times. http://theconversation.com/small-funerals-online-memorials-
