25.01.2022 Easter Activities We had so much fun at participating in the Easter egg hunting both indoor and outdoor. The children covered their eyes and did not peek as we hid the Easter eggs. The eggs were hidden around in the indoor area and once they have collected all the eggs, we counted them together. They even shared their eggs with their friends! Great job everyone Futhermore, we went outdoors together and they all waited so patiently as the eggs were placed nearby the o...utdoor toys on the grass area. All of them did a fantastic job at listening & locating every single one of the eggs. We identified the colours, shapes, number of eggs, patterns as part of the learning journey. The children also decorated their fluffy bunnies. They were expressing their creativity through play based learning. Additionally, they were developing their fine motor skills, colour recognition, social skills throughout the activity. The children enjoyed listening and reading the Easter books Hope you all have a lovely and safe Easter!

Some came when they were only 7 months old ... As your teacher, I’m proud to say that you have all become confident little individuals, but wait, not so lil anymore because you’re all going to Kindy school! I’ve heard all of you are having a fantastic time at kindy, which makes me feel delighted to hear! I’m sure you will all enjoy your time at big school and make lots of new friends too. Children, remember to always strive to be the BEST that you can be!

17.01.2022 Animal Farm Fair ... We were fortunate to be able to participate in the educational program and benefit many learning from various activities throughout the excursion. The children learnt to make truffle that day which consists of banana , cake , peach , strawberry , apricot and yoghurt. Furthermore, they were excited to be able to gently pat on some of the farm animals such as the sheeps, cow, chicken, llama and others too. The sheep is so soft G said as she patted on the sheep gently. Yes, soft A replied and gave the sheep a gentle pat as well. Moo! The girls said loudly and a few seconds later, the cow Moo’d back at them Off they went hopping on the dinosaur’s back and couldn’t contain their excitement as they saw the huge egg RAWWRRRR! 13.01.2022 Skittles Rainbow Science Experiment Skittles are particularly good for experiment because they are colourful and dissolve even faster than other candies. When placed in a shallow pan of water, the dye quickly dissolves and starts to absorb into the water, making a colorful rainbow. The children learned a bit more about dissolving, absorption, and how colours mix.... During the activity, the children were amazed and said: Wow, it’s a rainbow Look, I can see a rainbow Amazing!

12.01.2022 Hand washing experiment In the midst of these times, we’ve been maintaining our hygiene more than before. The children washes their hands once they join us, the usual before and after meal times, after going to the toilet, before home time. They were also reminded to cover their mouth if they needed to cough or sneeze. We have also read Handy the Octopus Saves The Day to support this learning. We did an experiment with the children to demonstrate the importance of... washing their hands with soap. Throughout the experiment, we discussed the process of it and to enlighten the children’s understanding. The children have washed their hands prior to commence the experiment. I poured out a bowl of water and added pepper, the children then dipped in their fingers having washed their hands with just water and the pepper remained in the same place. Afterwards, they then added soap to their fingers and tried again, this time the pepper (which represents the germs) moved away immediately. Such a simple but effective demonstration of how hand washing with soap helps to get rid of germs!

04.01.2022 Another year has passed & I want to express my gratitude for the evaluation from the City of Melville. Children's health and hygiene is my day care's number one priority. By doing so, I keep my day care clean by regular disinfecting and daily cleaning. More importantly the kitchen side of it and how the food (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea) is prepared & served fresh.

02.01.2022 St Patrick’s Day & Harmony Day The children had fun learning about the two worldwide events that had occurred. They have showed enthusiasm towards the activities and great listening skills. Saint Patrick's Day is a big party for everything to do with the country, Ireland - it's people, art, religion and all the things Irish people like to do. According to St. Patrick's Day lore, St. Patrick used the leaves of a shamrock as a metaphor for the holy trinity. We decorated... our St Patrick’s hat and practice their cutting skills by cutting it out. Then the children put it on their head. Harmony Day is a day to celebrate our culturally diverse society. The children have traced over their hands on their individual art work to demonstate that we all belong. Afterwards, the children painted their hand prints with puffy paint. We also read books regarding Harmony Day to support this learning opportunity. All the children participated in the local library’s Harmony Day poster competition. We are still waiting to hear back from them once they are running again regarding the participation certificate and gift for every child that has submitted their beautiful artwork!

We listened to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in Noongar Language ‘Djinda Djinda Kanangoor’.
