22.01.2022 Hello Everyone! I want to play a little game! The intrinsic muscles are a group of muscles along the arch of your foot that help curl your toes and support your arch. A lot of people loose their ability to use them and sometimes this can cause some problems. Toe scrunch exercises are a good way to get your natural arch strength better. This can be as simple as trying to scrunch up some newspaper with your toes. How strong do you think your arch muscles are? Whats the strangest thing you can pick up with your toe flexors?

20.01.2022 And here we have a "winging" scapule presentation. This means that the muscles in the back of the shoulder blade have become weak and are unable to support it properly. This can often result in the front of the shoulders appearing to lurch forwards. If you chronically suffer from tension in the neck and shoulders, have a look if you are also winging down here. Locking this area down may provide better long term relief than massage.

19.01.2022 What really happens to our muscles as we age if we are chronically active? These are MRI cross sections of leg muscles.

16.01.2022 Going to work barefoot! As some people out there may know, I have been experimenting with the highs and lows of barefoot shoes for the past 3 years. Its taken me this long to polish up my running patterns in barefoot runners.but will the same patterns work in formal footwear?! I have always preferred running on off-road surfaces. My feet are accustomed to soft and uneven ground. Now I'm wearing barefoot shoes at work! Which involves walking (not running) on a hard flat surfa...ce. The rules have changed! These vivobarefoot mens leather shoes are a lot heavier than the evo pure shoes I have been running in. They have thicker soles and a much looser fit due to the small amount of lacing. The sole of the shoe is about 4mm thick which isn't much! This means that I cant rely on my shoes to absorb the ground force reactions as I step. Rather, I have to re configure the way I walk so that I don't land too hard on my heel each time (which has been an ongoing struggle). I've been asked before if I think barefoot shoes would help some people fix foot related problems. My answer to this is No. Barefoot shoes are not inherently corrective, rather they point out every single flaw you have in your walking patterns! They wont fix you! You are the one who has to pay attention to your own body and fix yourself! The attached picture demonstrates how even a flat foot like mine can develop good arch control with the right exercises. In my time working at Casey Allied Health I have met some people with such messed up feet that they would never even consider walking barefoot. These people will likely spend the rest of their life dependant upon orthotics because they never had the chance to develop their foots natural strength. How good do you think your foots own natural strength is? Do you think you could go for a short walk/ run in bare feet without hurting yourself? Do you think you could go to work for a full day with no shoes? How strong do you think you feet really are? For more information on barefoot running check out this site: http://brewstersrunning.com/ For more information on strengthening your foots own strength stay tuned to this facebook page and/ or book in for an assessment at Casey Allied Health: http://www.caseyalliedhealth.com.au//musculo-skeletal-the/

15.01.2022 Body composition analysis (BCA) is now available at the clinic! Using mild electrical currents we can tell you details about yourself such as your body fat content, lean muscle mass in different limbs, hydration levels and more!

10.01.2022 Guillain-Barre is an autoimmune disease that can mimic the symptoms of multiple sclerosis. I'm rather familiar with it because i had the more mild version of it when i was in highschool. What you are seeing here is the advanced form of it.....But i was smiling all the way through the end of the video :D
