20.01.2022 Life as a student visa holder is not easy in any way. You are constantly juggling expensive studies, minimum wage employment and life in general. The constant stress of where the future will lead and whether your study is worthwhile in bettering your life back home can be too much at times. If a sudden and life changing event occurs whilst all this is happening, it can break even the best of us, and as such is the case for one of the students we assisted. Our client Aman cam...e to us broken and without hope, told that he had no chance to continue studying in Australia and he should pack his bags and go home. His student visa had been cancelled and the depressive impact of this, combined with what happened in his personal life, crushed him. He came to me with a bleak hope of success and after hearing what happened to him, our team worked tirelessly preparing his case (which had over 22 annexures) and I personally represented him at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal hearing. After a gruelling 4 hour interview we awaited the result for many months. With the blessings of God, I received an email one day which contained his ‘Golden Ticket’. We had successfully won his case at the tribunal and he could now set out to complete his education dream in Australia! Throughout this experience, I gained a deeper insight into the daily struggles of student visa holders and this made me appreciate their resilience and effort. It eliminated the client/agent border as Aman had become like a younger brother to me, who I wished to assist at any expense. The lesson from this is that life will throw you down continuously and there will be people telling you to stay down because there is no hope. You must overcome these obstacles and flush these people and thoughts out of your life. Resilience builds character and without overcoming these challenges we remain the same and cannot grow. To all the students and migrants out there questioning what the future holds, do NOT give up on yourselves and keep striving for a better future every day!
