15.01.2022 Barry & Ailsa organised a very nice day to celebrate IVVVC 's 46th birthday. Our car run took us out through Wulkuraka and Karrabin then through to the Tom Fountain Overpass to the Brisbane Valley Highway where we turned off at Wivenhoe - Somerset Rd. After taking Northbrook Parkway we arrived at our destination at Red Cedar Park. We enjoyed the company of 62 members for morning tea and lunch. Plenty of talking, laughter and appreciating being out and about together again

11.01.2022 Since our September newsletter was sent to the printer, developments on the COVID-19 front have impacted the club in several ways as outlined below. CANCELLATI...ON Of DDVVMC 50th Anniversary Rally (Incorp. 2020 QHMC Southern Qld Rally) On Sunday 30 August, a joint meeting of the 50th Anniversary Committee and the Management Committee was held to consider the future of our 50th Anniversary celebrations in light of emerging COVID-19 risks in SE Queensland, related restrictions and ongoing uncertainty. Central to the joint Committee consideration of the future of the rally was the health, safety and wellbeing of rally participants and the community at large as well as the reputation of DDVVMC. It is with regret that the joint committee meeting made the decision to cancel the DDVVMC 50th Anniversary Rally (incorporating the 2020 QHMC Southern Queensland Rally). The joint committee meeting felt that this was the only responsible course of action that could be taken despite it being an outcome that none of us ever wanted to see happen. All rally entrants will be given a full refund of fees paid net of the cost of purchased shirts and caps which they will receive. All rally entrants will also receive the rally bag and contents that would have been given to them had the rally proceeded. Thanks must be given to all on the 50th Anniversary Committee who have worked tirelessly to plan the event. OTHER IMPACTS OF COVID -19 RESTRICTIONS FROM 31 AUGUST 2020 COVID-19 restrictions effective from 31 August 2020 limit gatherings on our DDVVMC club premises to a maximum of 10 people. This restriction impacts the club in the following ways 1. Annual General Meeting The AGM scheduled to be held on Thursday 10 September 2020 has been deferred until further notice. Nominations for Committee positions will stand. 2. General Meetings Monthly general meetings are cancelled until further notice. 3. Management Committee Meetings The next Management Committee will be held on Monday 14 September 2020 via teleconference unless restrictions are eased before then. 4. Club Rallies Monthly club rallies are unable to be held until further notice. At the time of writing, members can still engage in Impromptu Runs with up to 10 people involved. 5. Club Workshop Members wishing to use the workshop need to make arrangements to do so by contacting our Workshop Supervisor, Jim Robertson. Wednesday afternoon gatherings are cancelled until further notice. Jim Beh, President 30 August 2020

03.01.2022 Our members turned out in force for today's mid-week run and what a beautiful warm sunny day it was. We were all mindful of social distancing as 42 cars departed Cameron Park travelling through Pine Mountain to the Brisbane Valley Highway for the morning tea stop on the banks of Wivenhoe Dam at the Logan's Inlet Day Use Area. From here we travelled through Coominya, Mt Tarampa and on to Lowood where we stopped for a picnic lunch in the park in town handy to shops where some of us visited the take-away shops.
