23.01.2022 ANZAC DAY 2020 // My mum lives on Anzac Square here in Brisbane. Weve marked many a dawn service together as a family and with friends in her apartment overlooking the always moving ceremony in the park below. To see the square empty of people and school children, dignatories and servicemen and women is truly unbelievable. Yet solidarity remains as individuals come together in profoundly different ways this year to pay respect and remember the fallen. Here mum has lit a candle on her balcony overlooking the eternal flame. In the second photo the Sofitel strategically placed and lit table lamps at windows to emblazon a heart across the square. 19.01.2022 There are a lot of great #gallerywalls out there and this was the largest and most meaningful one weve ever created and installed. Layered with meaningful treasures new and old we hung the cluster piece by piece with our eyes but through our hearts, each item finding its natural fit beside the next. Devastatingly, cyclone Harold ripped through the renovated @aoreislandresort resort in April - yes amidst the Covid crisis nonetheless!! - and tore this beloved wall apart not ...to mention the damage sustained over the entire property. The owners, staff and people are so resilient and are rebuilding as we speak. No doubt Aore will rise again with more stories to add to its long and colourful history of which weve been a tiny part. So grateful to have these beautiful images for posterity. Amidst this crazy world of Corona virus was cyclone Harold which has affected the beautiful island paradise of Aore in Vanuatu.
