International Women’s Week 2020 WINDO is proud to be a part of Lorissa’s exhibition ‘Passage - into the Heart of Resilience’ and the Q&A session, T...hursday 12th March, 10.30am, Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre This event is FREE What a great response we are receiving for the ‘Behind the Art-Behind the Fence’ Q&A with artist Lorissa Manners and Jandamarra Cadd. An informed and highly contemporary conversation from women who have experienced ‘displacement’ by the women themselves and the artists that represent their stories. WINDO is proud to present ‘FORCE MAJEURE’ the greater force of women in the arts - a Q&A session to be presented at the Gympie Regional Gallery Wednesday 11th March 2020 6.30pm. www.facebook.com/events/550171498903161/ An evening of lively discussion with guest panelists. Liz Burcham is a highly applauded Arts manager and producer. She was the CEO of Metro Arts and led its formative evolution into a contemporary arts incubator. Formally the Cultural Director for the City of Newcastle Liz was responsible for creating a strategy to see culture play a pivotal role in the city’s urban renewal. Author Dr Janet Lee won the Emerging Queensland Writer category in the 2017 Queensland Literary Awards for her Manuscript ‘The Killing of Louisa’. ‘The Killing of Louisa’ was published by University of Queensland Press in 2018, shortlisted for the 2019 Davitt Awards in two categories, and has now also been published as an audio book. Janet is currently working on an historical novel.
