07.01.2022 The Flinders Wellbeing Team had a blast running the ‘Stay Strong in the City’ camp with the Iwiri community. This is part of a prevention and early intervention program for Anangu mothers, grandmothers, their children and grandchildren who are living in Adelaide. This is an amazing social and emotional wellbeing initiative with an Anangu twist, incorporating Tjukurpa and the elements of Walytja (family), Ngura (Country), Wangka (Language) and Inma (song/dance) to strengthen f...amilies in Adelaide. There were 42 Anangu campers last weekend for what turned out to be a very special time. We would like to acknowledge Anangu consultants Melissa Thompson and Dominic Barry who worked hard on the content and the Anangu workers were Rhoda Tjitayi and David Osborne supporting Bekh Osborne to run the Forums. The new Project name is Tjungungku Kunpu Kanyintjaku. Iwiri supported this project from the application through to delivery. Thank you to the team at Flinders Wellbeing Centre for your passion and dedication to the mental health and wellbeing of our people. See more
