21.01.2022 There's been such a great response to the results announced last week. We'll continue to share the articles as they come in. Thanks FotoCult!

18.01.2022 Congrats to Virginia & Evan of @virginiaandevan who took out the Top spot in the EPIC LOCATION category on the 2020 Awards! From Virginia about this entry -"When it came to their wedding, Mirna and Jamie wanted it to be as relaxed and as fun as possible. It was their priority to spend time away from the hustle of the city and escape to the rugged rocky mountains as they are avid hikers and explorers. They have hiked trails and gone to places that push the limits. It was impo...rtant to showcase this very important part of their lives when it was time to tie the knot. They wanted to be among nature, and truly spend time together in one of the most beautiful places in Canada. We took a helicopter to the location and spent the entire weekend hiking together before finding the perfect spot. In sharing vows and making lifelong commitments to one another, everything came together beautifully in this intimate setting with two incredibly kind souls." 16.01.2022 We are SO SO PUMPED to announce the results of the 4th International Wedding Photographer of the Year Awards. We congratulate every entrant, all 150 finalists, the category winners and the WINNER of the coveted title of International Wedding Photographer of the Year. JAMES SIMMONS @jamessimmonsphotography hails from Western Australia, was a judge for the Inaugural IWPOTY Awards back in 2017 and is a previous category winner, but now he's got the BIG one! Well deserved Jame...s James' entry took out the Black & White Category and won overall by just .286 of a point. The $22,000 prize pool would not exist without the support of many of the weddings industries most trusted and best suppliers that make our lives as wedding photographers so great and help us deliver the very best to our clients. From me personally a huge thanks to you all. Go give them a follow and check out their great products - @queensberrynz @rawdigitallab @atkins.pro.lab @holdfastgear @smartalbums @smartslides @narrativeapp @pictime_us @canonaustralia @studioninjacrm MASSIVE thanks to our judges. Without these guys we would not have been able to deliver this awards program. From me to you 6 legends, I owe you beers when we can all link up at some stage. @nisharavji @briarsatlas @pablo_laguia @baylymoore @emiliewhitephotography @theapartmentphoto

14.01.2022 Another great write up, this time with Metro Uk. Check it!

13.01.2022 Winner of the SINGLE CAPTURE category in the 2020 Awards, Keegan Cronin @keegancronin From Keegan about this entry - The couple were keen on getting some portraits down at the beach so I went for a walk with them. I noticed everyone sun baking on the steps and I was worried about taking photos of the public. When I saw the couple walking in I just composed the shot and waited for them to get closer to the middle of the frame. I didn't think much of it at the time. It wasn'...t until I got home that I realised everyone on the steps looked like they were in their own little world. They hadn't noticed me or even the couple for that matter. The couple were in a perfect position and the groom was holding the brides dress which also made the shot interesting Keegan scored himself about $750USD in cash and prizes from @atkins.pro.lab @holdfastgear @smartalbums @smartslides and also from us here at @iwpotyawards Thanks for getting involved Keegan and we look forward to seeing more of your beautiful work in 2021! 10.01.2022 Brittany from @beetwosweet not only won the DANCE FLOOR category with this great documentary moment but she also came 2nd, 3rd and 4th in this category from more than 180 entries..Solid effort indeed. From Brittany about this capture - "When I met Ryan and Eric, I was struck by two things: how supportive they were of each other, and how their first order of wedding planning was to create an unforgettable experience for their guests. Upon meeting Miss Leilani Lopez, I knew he...r drag queen performance would be a spectacular highlight of their day! She was absolutely fabulous: from her entrance during dinner to "Poor Unfortunate Souls" from The Little Mermaid (a nod to Ryan's work with Walt Disney), to bursting onto the dance floor to perform ABBA's "Mama Mia," which culminated with the finale "lap dance" for Eric's parents, the biggest surprise of all (and the subject of my photo)! I wanted to capture all of the emotion in the room, a snapshot in time showing every guest engaged and enthralled ... with a resounding message about celebrating love and making your own rules, and following your heart always. Ryan and Eric's wedding will always be one of my favourites" Prizes on their way to Brittany from category sponsors @atkins.pro.lab @queensberrynz @holdfastgear and @iwpotyawards

Congrats Shari and Mike, we love seeing your unique perspective and creativity each year in the Awards. Something about this unique image from Shari and Mike - ... "Jess + Jon are all about a good party! We had been lucky enough to shoot a few weddings where they were guests and we knew that the party was a big priority for them. While shooting we are always looking for a different perspective. When I saw a mezzanine above where the "shot ski" was going to be happening i knew i had to get this image! It was a unique perspective of their guests having an awesome time. Perfect!" Thanks to the sponsors of this category @queensberrynz @holdfastgear and @smartalbums @smartslides, and us @iwpotyawards :-)

02.01.2022 Winner of the SOLO PORTRAIT category in the 2020 Awards, captured by Midhat Muladbic aka Benedetto Lee @benedettolee is a wedding photographer from Croatia...In his words - "he's not an Italian child of Bruce Lee, he's more like a Kung fu panda who loves taking photos, meeting new people, and traveling to new adventures. Whether it’s a big or intimate wedding, elopement or engagement session, he approaches every single couple as unique experience and story to photograph"..lov...e it Midhat, a great Bio! From Benedetto about this beautiful moment - I always push myself to photograph standard things and wedding events in a different way. When it comes to shoes or other detail shots, they can become ordinary and static. So I try harder to show them them in real life situations by adding a human factor. Thanks goes out especially to @pictime_us @atkins.pro.lab and @holdfastgear for their contributions to this award, oh and us for chipping in with the $150USD beer money. Enjoy Benedetto. Well deserved. See more
