23.01.2022 A PROTOCOL TO HELP YOUR PULLED HAMMIE . Today were talking about pulled hammies and how we can help them out. The hamstring needs length and strength, and impo...rtantly strength at length, meaning we need to be strong and able to tolerate stress in positions where the hamstring is on or near stretch. . Enter the Askling L-Protocol. This protocol comes from a BJSM article on hamstring strains by Carl Askling et al. Its a free PDF so Ill put the article name at the bottom for ya. Overall, athletes who did this protocol returned to sport in 1 to 2 months, which is awesome. . Heres how it goes. Extender: Twice a day - 3 sets of 12 Diver: Every other day - 3 sets of 6 Glider: Every third day - 3 sets of 4 . I like to start clients with this protocol to get some basic safe load into the hammie and then progress to high load strengthening work like Romanian deadlifts, GHRs, or Nordic ham curls once weve built up a bit. . 22.01.2022 Plantar fasciitis is a load and tissue sensitivity problem. The PF is INCREDIBLY STRONG. So strong it takes over 1000 lbs/square inch to deform it even 1% in le...ngth! Moral of the story? You arent stretching it out with a bumpy ball, ice roller, or your hands! It needs to be desensitized and loaded to decrease pain and improve its activity tolerance. @drjarodhalldpt & @physionetwork See more
