12.01.2022 Ankle Mobility... Calf flexibility or ankle mobility is super important for most lower body compound movements and exercises. Why? If you don’t have a good ankle mobility via a knee-to-wall tear result (see pic), then your squat, lunge and deadlift will be limited and you will most likely bend forward and compromise your lower back.... Try this test out for yourself: - knee touches wall + heel on the ground - wriggle that same foot back As far as you can before the heel comes off the ground - measure the distance from the wall to your big toe. 10cm is average Less than 5cm is poor What is your range? This could be due to weak mid back & scapular muscles and your ability to control them whilst pulling, pushing, lifting and carrying....
