Our mass choir song at Sing Out Sydney 2019 celebrated the UN Year of Indigenous Languages with Christine Anu’s incredible Kulba Yada...y in the Kalaw Kawaw Ya language from the North Western Island of the Torres Strait. Join 560 choristers from 21 choirs around NSW in singing along.

Nonstop will feature Kyla Matsuura-Miller, presenting Max Ri...chter's Vivaldi Recomposed alongside some of the country’s most exciting emerging artists. Bang on a Can’s Ken Thomson leads Louis Andriessen’s virtuosic dance-party Hoketus, following a set of his own works with the Black Square Quartet. Composer-pianist Erik Griswold and filmmaker Louise Curham will also alter and expand the old technologies of the traditional grand piano and super 8 film in Yokohoma Flowers Held at Newstead Brewing Co. 17.01.2022 The UQ School of Music would like to congratulate Amy Hosking, Shing Him Chan, Rory Smith, and Celine Chong for being awarded the 4MBS Musica Viva Sid Page Memo...rial Prize in Chamber Music in 2019! A congratulations should also to Benjamin Anderson for winning the Burnett William Wendorff Memorial Prize for Classical Piano. Well done to all our students who competed in our 2019 competitions and best of luck with your efforts in 2020!

14.01.2022 The UQ Chamber Singers are delighted to announce Dominic Retschlag as our incoming director for 2020. Dominic has been a member of the ensemble since its creati...on. An experienced rehearsal accompanist and choral singer, Dominic holds a dual degree in music and arts from the University of Queensland and is presently completing postgraduate studies in musicology. We are proud to have one of our own singers stepping forward and are immensely excited to see where Dom leads the ensemble in 2020. A very hearty welcome to our new director! See more

09.01.2022 The UQ School of Music of Music had the privilege of presenting, 'Eumeralla, a war requiem at peace' at QPAC in October this year. Composer Deborah Cheetham AO ...created this work to amplify the importance of our nation’s shared history. This was a choral and symphonic music on a grand scale. In this video our Head of School Professor Liam Viney and Deborah Cheetham AO reflect on the importance of all Australians to contemplate our history and the role music has in the reconciliation process.
