24.01.2022 It has been a while since my last update, but Izabella is doing really well. We have isolated ourselves during the worst part of the Covid-19 pandemic and thankfully we have all been healthy and safe Since my last post, our beautiful girl has turned 6!! She loves having her birthday and we were fortunate to be able to have a few friends over to celebrate with us Last week we had her 6-monthly appointment with Orthopeadics. Izabella has been out of brace for the past 6 mo...nths and thankfully there has been no change or progression, so she will be brace-free for another 6 months Although her thoracic area is naturally fused, the lumbar area is showing a slight curve and she will need surgery to support that area. With everything considered she is still balanced and her surgeon is happy to wait with surgery until it is really necessary. With everything going on currently with the Covid-19 pandemic, we have been reminded to treasure family time, count our blessings and enjoy life! Stay safe everyone xx #izabellasjourney #chdwarrior #myheartkid #scoliosisstrong #blessed #GodIsGoodAllTime

16.01.2022 SHARE!!! June is Scoliosis Awareness Month. Let’s make this get shared around the world so everyone knows the signs of scoliosis!!!

08.01.2022 Leading up to winter I find myself feeling anxious sometimes. Winter comes with some unwelcome friends like flu, bronchitis and pneumonia. The Covid-19 pandemic has kick-started my anxiety and fears for Izabella's well being. Although there is no proof that children with heart conditions are a higher risk, it doesn't mean that we shouldn't be cautious! It has been 5 weeks since we have all been home and only going out for the odd doctor's appointment or grocery run. Izabella ...has had a Cardiology appointment at the end of March and Dr Ramsey was satisfied with the results of her Echo. There has been no changes since her previous Echo, which is really good. She has been struggling to get rid of an ear ache and after 3 rounds of Antibiotics we have finally managed to get that cleared. The Antibiotics and steroids did have an effect on her INR levels which has been fluctuating a lot, but her levels are back to her normal range. She also had her yearly check-up with her ENT specialist and she passed her hearing test with flying colours :-) She doesn't require any grommets at this stage and he has confirmed that her ear infections have all cleared. It can be challenging to stay at home and keep ourselves busy, but we have enjoyed our time together as family playing board games, baking, painting and even camping out in the back yard. We have been taking it for granted sometimes and the positive side of the Covid-19 pandemic is the quality family time everyone has together. We hope that you and your family are also enjoying this unprecedented time together and that you are all safe and well. We pray that we will all slowly get back to our normal routine pre-pandemic, but that we will cherish time with our family and friends x
