12.01.2022 50% of all Australians at the age of 17 years should be able to tread water for 5 minutes, swim continuously for 400 metres, rescue an unconscious person in dee...p water, and perform a survival sequence wearing heavy clothing. This is the third national benchmark set out in the National Swimming and Water Safety Framework, published this week. Find out more at https://bit.ly/2DPdRH1

11.01.2022 Swimming lessons for infants is partly about educating parents and carers as well. One key element is about teaching them about the safest way for their child t...o enter the pool and how they should help them. This is also a good time to remind parents and carers about the importance of supervising their child at all times in, on and around the water. For more information about the Royal Life Saving Swim and Survive swimming and water safety education program, visit https://bit.ly/2SXWVDN

11.01.2022 Can your 10-year-old swim 50 metres freestyle and tread water for 2 minutes? If not, it is time to speak with your local swim school about enrolling your child ...in swimming lessons. Visit https://bit.ly/NSWSFramework to find out more about the three key swimming benchmarks that children should be able to achieve at age 6, 12 and 17 years, as set out in the new National Swimming and Water Safety Framework published earlier this month.

10.01.2022 This might be fun and informative

10.01.2022 Back floating - From a front position in the water children learn to roll over onto their back to clear their airways and ensure they are facing the right way t...o get air. Back floating should be encouraged but never forced. Slowly build this skill be teaching children to relax and lay with their head on the parent’s shoulder. Gradually extend this skill by gently supporting the child under the shoulders. Shallow water is also great for teaching timid beginners to back float. See more

06.01.2022 Royal Life Saving data shows that 75% of children stop swimming lessons before the age of 9 years and that 40% of 12-year-olds are not achieving national benchm...arks for swimming. The aim of the National Swimming and Water Safety Framework launched earlier this month is to ensure that children learn the essential skills they need to keep safe in water. The Framework looks to inform Government, policy makers and swim schools, but it is also an important resource for parents to understand the lifelong benefits that learning to swim provides. 04.01.2022 I hope everyone is well. It is with a heavy heart that I have decided not to start lessons this year. The government is not giving a definite date for indoor facilities to reopen and the covid situation is too unstable. I didn't want to start and have to stop again.
