16.01.2022 Project : Removal of existing paved area and replace with new washed aggravated concrete. Client : Stockland Site : Somerton Park A nice little job we completed last week for a regular client .... Existing pavers were broken and therefore created issues with trip hazards so we removed them and replaced the entertaining area with a nice washed aggregate concrete. We acid washed the concrete today and saw cut the joints for final completion. I will always continue to thank the J&M Boys, without their continued hard work, our company would not survive!!!! WHAT A CREW!!!!

11.01.2022 Job Progression !! Project : Removal of existing asphalt and replace with new pavers. Client : DPTI Site : Bellevue Heights Primary School... As with most things, in most cases, the customer only ever sees the end result. However sometimes it’s the preparation, or, what’s underneath that counts. Here at J&M, we view the base prep just as important as the final result. This job has definitely been a test for everyone concerned. Due to unforeseen circumstances and in consultation with DPTI and the school, we have significantly modified the size of this job so as to maintain a level of cost that would fit within the budgetary guidelines. Once the changes were approved, we were back on track with the associated base preparation. Pavers are now being placed, job completion estimated to be this week.

06.01.2022 WE ARE BACK!!! This week we came back to some local work, marking the end of Stage 1 of our work out of town under strict security protocol! Stage 2 to begin soon! Job Progression !!... Project : Removal of existing lawn/tree area and providing a concrete slab and artificial lawn area Client : Spotless (DPTI) Site : Woodville High School Woodville High School approached us with their vision and we were more than happy to help them out. They required a concrete pad to which they will affix an industrial strength Table Tennis Table to, and some surrounding artificial lawn for the students to utilise. The area will become part of an overall project to bring life back into the school yard. Doing what we do best, the J&M crew quickly and efficiently worked from the provided plans and got the job DONE!! While we were at the school we also spent some time fixing some unsafe areas of paving by lifting and relaying and removing the trip hazards. As always, a Big thanks to the J&M Boys, they continually work hard to deliver a great pruduct!

05.01.2022 TBT to a job we completed last year for Mykra Constructions on behalf of Spotless for Gawler & District College B-12. Diversity is the Key!

04.01.2022 Important; J&M Saracino will be off the grid for approximately 3/4 weeks! This week we commenced a job that, due to strict security protocol, will not allow us to reveal its location and/or post any photos pertaining to the works undertaken. However a brief description of the works is as follows;... - Demolition of a 1.8m high concrete sleeper retaining wall, - Excavation/Bench cut of 36lnm hillside, relocation of spoil on site - Erection of new 0.4/0.6m high concrete sleeper retaining wall using existing sleepers, running the entire length of the bench cut - Excavation/site cut of existing sub par base, relocation of spoil on site - Provide compacted rubble base for new concrete slab/place form work/reinforcement - Prepare/Form/Pour/finish concrete spoon drain running in font of the retaining wall - Pour/Finish concrete slab appropriate for heavy vehicles - Size of concrete slab may vary due to budgets, however it will be a minimum of 170m2 Once again, the J&M boys will be up to the challenge and kicking goals the whole way !!!!

04.01.2022 It has been an interesting & at times challenging few weeks at J&M Saracino. Project : Removal of spoil, base preparation and concrete placement within a pre erected shed and surrounding area. Client : DPTI Site : Seacliff Primary School... With access limited, this job was definitely a challenge for us, but the end result is exactly what the school was looking for. The previous space was unusable however now they have an undercover and whether proof storage space and a useable area adjacent the shed. Project : Removal of existing asphalt and placement of new concrete pathways. Client : DPTI Site : Yankallila Area School This job has definitely been a challenge for us at J&M. We generally advise our customers to include a compacted rubble base for all new jobs. However budget constraints can often dictate weather this is always achievable or not. In the case of Yankallila Area School, because there were strict budgets in place which did not allow for any variations, the idea was to re screed and re compact the existing rubble base under the asphalt. We then found the existing base was actually bull rubble or ballast which essentially is just large rock, and to remove this and replace it with a proper rubble base would have blown the schools budget. So once again, in consultation with the school we decided the best course of action to achieve an optimal result, given the paths were for foot traffic only, was to adjust the levels of the pathways which allowed us to increase the depth of concrete that would normally suffice to compensate for the lack of compacted rubble sub base. A big thank you has to go out to several people; The J&M boys James Hellmanns of Hellmanns Tiling Ryan Saracino of Lynch Saracino Constructions Without the help of these guys, these kinds of jobs are not possible!
