15.01.2022 It is saddening that some are scared and bulk buying due to their fears of not having enough. Understand that but we need to think of those that cannot afford to buy in bulk and have a small amount of money that they can spend each week to survive. We are all a little scared and living with things that we are not used to but we can make sure that we look after ourselves and others by buying what we need, knowing that the supermarkets are open the next day, if we need extra ...support the government have put additional supports in place and we need to look at the websites that will give us information on how to access those supports. Healthgov and QldHealthgov have supports. Type these into google or internet explorer and find out what is available. We are all facing new things and challenges that are scary but all of us are feeling the same way. We have people out there working double and triple shifts, we have services trying to change how they work to ensure that vulnerable people are cared for and we don't have everything perfect but we are all doing the best that we can. Very happy for anyone to private message KYC and we will do our best to answer questions and link people in with the supports they need. Stay safe, reach out and be part of the all of us together facing Covid 19. See more
13.01.2022 We saw Eli Creek Dingo. We got these photos and our guide was saddened by how poor she looked as he would see her weekly and can’t believe how much she has go...ne down with the long term affects of the collar. There was no other dingoes in site, only a car parked over at the coffee rock, where a creek emerged from the bank, they may have been fishing and she seemed to be laying on the beach hoping they might give her something to eat. They were not interested in her. After we stopped and took the photo from the car, she staggered down on the beach as if tired. My friend said he’s seen her trying to swim across Eli Creek with the collar on or should I say 2 collars on! It’s not one collar but 2. She is really suffering. It’s just so inhumane to see this has been done by those that are meant to be caring for the dingoes in this World Heritage area. If you look at photo 2 you can see the utter despair in her face as if she’s given up the battle with the collar. I do not believe that they can effectively hunt with such a cumbersome thing around their neck! So, what are we to do? How can we help to stop this utter cruelty to our wonderful native dingoes? We also know that the Lake McKenzie Dingo has had a collar put on her and our guide will be going there tomorrow so he is going to look out for her and see if he sees her and get some photos. We saw her in March when we were there before the closure, with the collar same as the one below. She also looked so despondent about having to live with such a cumbersome thing around her neck! What can we do to help?posted by Ian Wheeler

10.01.2022 At this time of uncertainty and ever changing news, I am concerned about our loved pets. People that have lost their jobs may feel that they need to surrender ...them due to feeding and vet costs. Others that have fears that Covid 19 started from animals may have a fear about their pets being a cause and surrender them. The news that a tiger has contracted Covid 19 from a zoo worker may see people fear that they will have vet bills on top of living costs in our current scary climate. I say to all, please think about the joy and unconditional love that your pets give you. They do not know that this virus is here and will not change their devotion. To date I have not heard any government support for pets that have been affected by human fear and I hope that this message sees people understand the reality of what this may mean for thousands of innocent pets that simply love their families.
