25.01.2022 So proud of Rae this morning. She was quite apprehensive of doing pullups because she was scared of holding up her weight. After a few nervous shakes she managed to string 3 sets of 10 reps together. It is absolutely amazing to see people overcoming fears and smashing goals



24.01.2022 HOW IMPORTANT IS STRETCHING AND MOBILITY? When you purchase a car, do you drive your car and never get it serviced? No. You keep it regularly serviced to prevent paying big repair bills. The same goes for your body. If you put it through all of this hell during the day (even if you do not exercise) you must take care of it to prevent injuries. Stretching and mobility is the best way to do this. It is as simple as finding 20-30min in a day and you can even do this while watchi...ng your favourite show on Netflix. Oh, and this 10sec each side thing is not how to fully reap the benefits, 1-2min each side will do. 22.01.2022 ONE OF THE WORST WAYS TO LOSE FAT Juice Cleanse Most people have probably heard miraculous stories from people going on a juice cleanse. For those that dont know what this is, it is basically a period of time where someone will just make and drink juices to lose weight. Sounds yum, right? ... I can tell you now that a juice cleanse may make you feel light and clean but the problem is, juice has almost zero protein. So if you have lost weight after this cleanse it is most likely water weight and muscle mass that you have lost. Another effect of undertaking a juice cleanse is that it can cause your skin to dry out and make you look more aged. When eating a low-calorie diet which is exactly what a juice cleanse is, the water stored in your muscles with glycogen gets used up which causes your skin to feel dry. Juices are also a terrible way to get in your vitamins and minerals. When food is processed through the juicer you will get all of the disgusting looking scraps come out of the back which most people throw out or compost. This is actually the majority of the fibre and vitamins in your fruit that is being disposed. What are you left with? A sugary drink with little fibre and vitamins. Advice: Stay away from these FAD diets and attractive looking cleanses. A well balanced whole-food diet with a regular exercise regime will do the trick.

You may love your body but it sure doesnt love you with the way you treat it. Some people need to wake up and take responsibility and some ownership for not taking care of their body. Do not forget that you have the power to do whatever you want! Anything in your life is within your control. There are no good enough excuses for pushing your health to the side.

12.01.2022 Too often we follow other people. We have so many people singing different things in different ears. This makes it almost impossible to make a decision. When it comes down to it we are the ones facing the results of our actions not these other people. So even if it is the wrong decision (which isnt bad) we can take responsibility and learn from our actions. Stop being pushed around by others! Chase what is yours!

11.01.2022 ARE YOU EXPERIENCING LOWER BACK PAIN? Lower back pain is becoming a more frequent occurrence today. Obviously there are various reasons that can cause this frustrating pain. I understand a lot of people feel the need to stop physical activity all together to fix the pain. However, if you include this exercise in your daily routine, it is sure to take time off your recovery. BEST EXERCISE TO RELIEVE LOWER BACK PAIN... Leg Raises Obviously everyone is experiencing different levels of lower back pain so there are different modifications you can make. 1. 7/10 Pain - still able to function normally but struggles, feels pain constantly As displayed in the first picture, lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Breathe in and as you breathe out bring one knee in towards your chest and as you breathe in return the foot to the floor. Repeat this exercise six to eight times on each leg. If your lower back starts to hurt, do NOT continue. 2. 5/10 Pain - functions sufficiently but can still feel an irritating pain As displayed in the second picture, lie on your back with your right leg straight and left leg bent so your foot is flat on the ground. Now, lift your right leg to the top of the left knee, keeping the right leg straight. Complete 6-8 repetitions each leg. If your lower back starts to hurt, complete the previous exercise and if it still hurts do NOT continue. 3. 3/10 Pain - dont really notice the pain unless sharply moving Lay flat with your arms at your sides and legs stretched out next to each other, then raise those legs. Lift them until they are pointing at the ceiling. Make sure your toes are pointed. Then lower them back down. The return journey should be at the same pace at which you raised your legs. Lower them until theyre hovering just above the ground, and then raise them again. Complete 10-12 repetitions. If you cant complete this without pain place your hands underneath your buttocks for support or try the previous exercise. If anyone has any questions, please shoot through a message and we will do our best to answer them.

11.01.2022 MOST EFFICIENT TRAINING METHOD FOR BURNING FAT HIIT There is no doubt a lot of you would have seen or heard the term HIIT. What this stands for is High Intensity Interval Training. This is personally one of my favourite training methods. ... I personally love it because you can do it anywhere, anytime with minimal to no equipment. HIIT allows you to burn a large amount of calories in a short amount of time. Not only does it burn heaps of calories during your workout it also raises you metabolic rate for up to 24 hours after a workout. HIIT stimulates the production of human growth hormone (HGH) by up to 450 percent during the 24 hours after you finish your workout. This is amazing news since HGH is not only responsible increasing the calories burned but it also slows down the aging process, making you younger both inside and out! If all of this doesnt sell you on implementing some HIIT into your life, I dont know what will. At JAB Training a large focus of our training will be built around HIIT. 09.01.2022 TOP 10 MOST COMMON MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE WHEN THEY EMBARK ON THEIR FITNESS JOURNEY 8. Thinking Cardio Is Enough Many people think they need only a cardiovascular exercise program. It is now commonly known that as we age we begin to lose muscle. Strength training builds muscle, which increases our metabolism and burns more calories. ... When you gain muscle, your resting metabolic rate (the number of calories your body burns at rest) goes up. So it may be worth considering implementing into your workout routine. Cardio may be a great way to get a good sweat and burn some calories but we now know that it should not be a stand alone training method as there are much more beneficial and productive ways you could be exercising. Does this mean you have to go buy a pair of dumbbells and start doing curls? No. Do some research, find some exercises that interest you and incorporate some strength training in your life. If you do need some help and guidance creating a program suited to your goals I am more than happy to help. If you do need some extra motivation and accountability then inbox me. If you do not want to miss any quality content then like the page and check it out because I am posting 1 common mistake each week. 9. Thinking You Can "Out-Train" A Bad Diet... For some people (not all) putting in the physical work is the easy part. They can spend hours in the gym and yes, they may lose some weight depending on their starting body composition, however, they will hit a plateau. They will not lose anymore weight and this has nothing to do with the effort they are putting in the gym, it is what is being prepared (or not prepared) in the kitchen. There is a rule that floats around saying the road to health follows an 80/20 road. This couldnt be more true. This means diet is responsible for 80% of your outcome and exercise is responsible for 20%. At JAB Training our job is to nail that 20% while also guiding you the right way with nutrition. Due to this rule of 80/20, we are currently working on a partnership with a well-respected and passionate dietitian to help you nail the other 80%. 06.01.2022 EFFECTS OF EXERCISE ON DEPRESSION Sure, exercise can improve your physical health, enable you to look good naked, improve your sex life, and even add years to your life. The brain, however, may be what is benefiting the most. Studies show that exercise can treat mild to moderate depression as effectively as any antidepressant medication but without the destructive side-effects. Depression causes problems to the serotonin pathways of our brain so when exercise is applied on a ...regular basis our levels of serotonin are increased which can help regulate our mood and sleep. Exercise is also proven to produce endorphins which is our feel good hormone. Regular exercise can assist with depression by giving one a sense of ownership as they take control of their health and look after themselves. Exercise can also act as a distraction from ones life from their worries and rumination. Exercise and nutrition is natures best medicine.

05.01.2022 -If you win the morning, you win the day- Do you want more freedom with your day? Start your day with a productive morning. Complete your most important tasks first. This will give you the rest of the day minimising stress and worry... Start by writing out a list of no more than 10 important tasks that will set you up for a successful day. These are "non-negotiables". This means if you were to finish all of these tasks that day then you would feel like you were productive that day. These are things that need to be completed. Nail those tasks out as soon as you can in the morning. It may take you the whole morning but once you have finished them it is a higher chance that you will go on continuing to be productive. Everyone loves the feeling after being productive.

03.01.2022 CAN EATING TOO MUCH PROCESSED MEAT CAUSE CANCER? For a long time it has been questioned if processed meats have a direct link in the causation of cancer. The World Health Organization classified processed meats including ham, salami, bacon and frankfurts as a Group 1 carcinogen which means that there is strong evidence that processed meats cause cancer. ... This may also be quite shocking to hear but red meat such as beef, lamb and pork has been classified as a probable cause of cancer. The cancer council states that "these classifications do not indicate the risk of getting cancer, rather how certain we are that these things are likely to cause cancer." The cancer council actually estimates that in 2010, 1 in 6 bowel cancer patients or 2600 bowel cancer cases in Australia strictly correlated to a diet that consisted of high amounts of red meat. Processed meat consumption has also been strongly linked to a higher risk of stomach cancer. Advice: Cut down on meat consumption, fill your stomach with wholesome nutritious meals with lots of veggies instead.
