This time we went to the Dandenong Ranges Botanical Gardens (Rhododendron Gardens) and I snapped these long-leaf wax flowers on our way out. 17.01.2022 PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS Dandenong Ranges Hi everyone! I'm hosting two photography workshops on September 21st + 22nd on the topics of Landscapes and Products.... Both workshops are suitable for any skill level and any camera, from a smartphone to a DSLR! No equipment or experience necessary. We'll cover the technical basics of photography and the artistic practices of each field, with a booklet to take home and reference. The Landscapes workshop will be a group walk in one of my favourite forests in Olinda and the Products workshops will be 1-on-1 lessons in Montrose. I'll see you there!

15.01.2022 Couldn’t be happier with my new branding and website! I worked on this with my partner at Vessel Studio and it took about 400 drawings and countless digital versions to get to a point I was happy with. I wanted not only a logo but a makers mark for my woodworking, which I could engrave or burn into products. This was the hardest part, finding a symbol that suited my needs. In the end, as always, it was the simple approach that won: an updated version of my logo which is so c...lose to me that I even have an oak leaf tattooed on my arm, and a hand-lettered J with a vintage feel and inspiration from runes and all things magical. Huge thanks to Sunshine for her art direction and guidance through this redesign, encouraging me to always dig deeper to find what it is I really want to be doing. So here it is: the new look for Jaccob McKay, an artist.
