11.01.2022 My Son and Daughter in this Photo Jack and Ruby - which Jackaroo is named after - making me very proud this Week and always - as Australian Farmers are in a severe Drought Jack is helping @afiverforafarmer As I went to bed last night, completely exhausted, it was great to reflect on whats been a life changing week. Last Monday evening after basketball and over dinner, Jackman shared with us his concern for the farmers enduring the drought, and his desire to help.... I was a bit taken a back as we werent really following the story closely. Jacko educated me in 10 minutes more than anyone else probably could, incredible the knowledge and passion the little man has. He explained that the stories of drought affected Farmers, the utter devastation occurring across rural Australia, and how sad it made him to feel powerless to help. (Did you know 98% of NSW is in drought?!) Jackman has never been one to sit idle, so after dinner he set off to the bedroom and began to write an email. He had decided he was going to send it to anyone and everyone!. And so, to everyone and anyone, at Jacks direction we starting sending emails. 12 hours from sending his letter, I received a call from Sunrise on channel 7. They loved Jacks letter. He had even signed off P.S My Mums mobile number is xxx... It has been the most amazing week. Watching our gorgeous 10 year old Jackman handle himself with a confidence I didnt know he had and a knowledge I never knew existed, hes built a little empire, inspiring a nation with a call to action. To me, its been a gift to showcase what a beautiful, caring boy he is. The post is mostly about gratitude. We are overwhelmed with love and support being shown. We love our village of staff & families at SJB - I couldnt have survived this week without you. Especially to Emma and Ellen tirelessly working away. To Kate for setting up a website and go fund me in under 2 hours. And to everyone that has messaged to say how proud they are of Jack. We couldnt have foreseen this path, but what a journey its been.
