25.01.2022 Jacked Back Upholstery today.

22.01.2022 The big girl has had her heart removed for some upgrades, , and a few niceties like power steering and a better radiator/fan set up.

22.01.2022 Consloe is all in and hooked up. Fixing leaking rocker cover gaskets, so might as well check over the valve train while I'm there. Hard to see but no markes on valve stem tip, just faint shiny patch right in the middle and you I can see where the valve has been rotating, must have done something right in the first place.

22.01.2022 Big girls upgraded hearts back in and almost ready to fire, just wiring to go. Big Block Mustang radiator fits well with radiator support pannel modified to sit it 2" further forward, shortened water pump and custom pulleys, should have the overheating issues sorted now. Got a spare bonnet and need the clearance for the new manifold and carb spacer, so rather than a 4" thunderbolt, had a mate do up a 2" thunderbolt, should provide just the right amount of clearance and look the part.

22.01.2022 Alternator set up done on black Falcon 289. Water pump shortened, pully lined up correctly with crank pulley. Small 80amp alternator brackets made and braced to keep it all compact, inline and tensioned.

21.01.2022 Again been a while. Plenty happening, boats been rewired and found the knock at revs (bad plug leads), Big Girls had all her leaf spring bushes replaced (doesn't ride good with no rubber left in front spring eye bush), she's also been all measeued up for a new exhaust system, primary's back, twin 3", still so reliable though done some more drag racing and weddings, every time just get in and away she goes. Black Falcon on hoist now for new rear shocks, leaf spring bushes and shackle bushes and strut rod bushes. 289 for Black Falcon nearly finished, just machining up spacers to align gilmer drive correctly. Mock up of the C-Cab chassis has begun, cowl chopped to get it sitting right and work out how much sweep we need in the front of the chassis to get her sitting just right. And of course the shed helpers on duty.

18.01.2022 Big girls upgraded power plant ready for the run stand. Next, power steering and radiator, fan setup.

16.01.2022 Another job done and another started. Handle for a mate that is restoring an old safe turned up. 351 Cleveland project started, crank in the lathe linishing up the journals, just needs some deburring and blueprinting now.

15.01.2022 Been a while since posting anything, gardens all done now in new digs, so back to playing in the shed. Bathurst day today, so whilst watching the big race and having a frof or 2 we will install a new fuel line in the big girl (Big Block Stuff), might do a couple of small jobs on the Black Bird ( Small Block stuff) and a bit more on installing the Hoist to save the jacked back.

14.01.2022 BIG GIRL'S running again. Couple of water leaks to sort and timing / carb adjustments still to go. Sounds lumpy

10.01.2022 Center console coming together nicely for the big girl. Had to modify new shifter to suit, cut new gate and made lock pin for the gate. Part collection for the 65 all done, start on that next week.

09.01.2022 Started on another project the other day that should save a lot of leaning over guards, don't know what will be the first to run on it

08.01.2022 Cleveland striped bare, supposed to be a 351 turned out to be a 302 351 crank found measured up good (I did use a micrometer to get final measurements) crank will need a linish and all the other bits are on order. 2V heads were quoted at 2k to overhaul (they needed everything) so another recent reco set were found for $400 and I'll work them over and make sure there ready to go.

06.01.2022 Not a lot happening lately, back working again so the jacked back stuff has slowed considerably. Moved into a new garage, the black birds engine is nearly ready for the test run stand I have to build and parts are still coming together for the C Cab. Little bit of drag racing in the big girl again.

05.01.2022 Engine for the black Falcon just about ready for the cam to be run in, need to build a test run stand now. Camper trailer getting new bearings, new stub axel and brakes. Few more bits for the big girl, power steering and a few engine tweaks. And a Cleveland on the stand in for a rebuild and upgrade. Busy times in lock down.

03.01.2022 Friday night starter motor rebuilds, hope this puts some fire back in the big girl, or more head scratching.
