21.01.2022 Not ever workout needs to be perfect, super intense or a landmark event... In fact it's best that it's just 'good'. : : : So many times as a PT and even CrossFit coach, I've had people come in with the aim of 'being smashed' and using DOMs (aka muscle soreness) as an indicator of how hard they worked. This is the best way to set yourself up for failure and even injury.... The body needs light and shade in training to progress. Lighter training days not only allow for the nervous system and muscles to recover, but they also reassure the mind that the gym doesn't always = pain, inability to walk down stairs or wash your hair. We can work on technique and mobility on these days that helps us progress a whole lot faster over time. So stop chasing that sweaty pain cave especially when first getting back into training. 16.01.2022 2019 is nearly here... Christmas has passed and you've no doubt had your fair share of mince pies, ham with everything and chocolate for breakfast (some of my favs )... It can be VERY VERY tempting to give in to all-or-nothing New Years resolutions... Probably consisting of fasting, juicing, quadrupling your exercise or training for a marathon... Now don't get me wrong, I like using this time of year to reassess what I want to achieve in 2019 and write down some 12month, 6... month and monthly goals. So ask yourself, is there something you could be challenging yourself to get a little uncomfortable with in your fitness and nutrition side of life This doesn't need to be a huge step outside of your comfort zone, but one small step is one closer to progress and feeling more awesome....
