24.01.2022 Welcome to 2021 at Jackie Bakes! Who's ready for a FABULOUS Year? I'm grateful that you're here with me and I'm also grateful for all the support my clients, friends and family have given me over the last two and a half years.... Just in case you didn't know Jackie Bakes is a fully registered (Mackay Regional Council FL2926) and fully insured home based business servicing the Mackay area. I take pride in producing quality custom cakes, macarons, meringues and cookies using the freshest, local ingredients that I can find, all baked from scratch. I'm also a proud member of the Australian Cake Decorating Network and pride myself on great customer service and creating scrummy treats for you and your loved ones. 22.01.2022 Cake of the Week - Part 2 Teenager Party Cake Rory asked for a Standing up R with blue icing and in a mud cake. I think he wanted to challenge me and that he did. I’m not 100% happy with it - especially the fondant part (anyone who knows me knows I have a love/hate relationship with it) but it was made with lots of love and while I was creating it I was reminiscing on all the previous birthdays we have celebrated with my family and friends and the wishes that have come true... for my son. For those playing at home the stand structure of the R was cut by Dee & Co. I’ve put a few staging photos in so you can see how it’s done. I also love the gold acrylic THIRTEEN that they cut as well as it just sets off the simplicity of the design. Thank you so much Danella! It essentially means equal parts of something. In this case it’s equal parts of almond flour and icing sugar and it forms the base of my delish macarons. 01.01.2022 Birthday Cakes....... September always is a busy month for me, amongst my lovely clients there is one that is always demanding, very creative in his request and is nearly always taken aback when he sees his cake for the first time. Yes you guessed it, it's my son! This Friday he won't be my little boy anymore, but instead turning into a bright, handsome, talented and well mannered (well mostly) teenager. Over the years the cake evolution has been vast and reflects the many different phases my son has gone through.
