24.01.2022 I am safely home and recovered from my travels....somewhat......my dreams last night had me walking through a maze with bizarre interpretations of my journey....so I guess this is my mind trying to unravel all that it has absorbed. I would like to say a big thank you to all that have followed and contributed to my big adventure... it has provided enormous support and companionship. A huge thank you also to the folk on the ground that have provided local support, food and s...helter and generally contributing to my education and overall experience. These moments will live on in my psych for ever! Also my sister Val and niece Stephanie for caring for my horses and to David for having a home that was "same old" to return to. Lastly to Darren from www.southeastmotorcyclehire.co.uk for providing a fit for purpose bike that was a comfortable ride and easy to get around on. 6,000km was what I travelled in total....not a lot in Australian speak, but a good ride in context of backroads in Europe. Pictured is a handover of the bike back to Darren and my final backroad of France pic.......it is of a dryland field of silverbeet on one side and a barley crop on the other. I can only imagine that the silverbeet is to be mechanically harvested for the frozen spinach market. Over the next couple of weeks I will be unbundling my experiences and I will continue to share with you further stories that I simply could not manage whilst on the road.
22.01.2022 Riding along the backroads to the ferry, came across a proper french restaurant and decided that I just had to have a proper finale. You see it is my last day in France! I have lots more posts to make ahead of my flight on Thursday so that I can catch you all up. My mind is so full and rich and I am feeling so emotional. I am ready to come home to the great wide spaces of Australia! Aperitif of Kir royal!
