09.01.2022 First snake for the season small Tiger snake caught in a shed at Carrajung. It may seem early but with these warmer days we have been having the snakes are waking up and getting out and about after their time in isolation. So keep an eye out for our serpent friends and please leave them be if you come across them.

08.01.2022 Little Tiger snake relocated back to the bush and away from people and possible harm.

06.01.2022 Busy day today for reptiles, the wet weather we've had lately hasn't put damper on love! These 2 Lace Monitors (Tree Goannas) were in an Alberton West backyard setting up their home under a shed and needed to be relocated. While not inherently dangerous to humans they can be aggressive during mating season and will steal chook eggs and chicks or small chooks. Their love story can now continue out in the bush, undisturbed by humans! There is a healthy population of Monitors in the Gippsland bush, if you hear a rustling or scratching look up in the trees and you might just see one. There was also a cheeky Tiger Snake hanging around a shed in Jack River that got a new home today as well.
