Take a moment to remember every victim of road trauma. Take a moment to think of the families who live with the loss of their loved one every moment of every day. It’s time to think about how you drive. ... Zero excuses ~ Drive so others survive ~

16.01.2022 IF IT SAVES ONE LIFE... IT'S WORTH IT ... Do you know the story behind this sign? Each Friday, Brian Hastie updates the road toll on his hand-stencilled ...sign in Stratham, on Bussell Highway. A motorcycle crash 20 years ago left him with a brain injury, so he knows the impact road accidents have not just on individuals, but on "families and first responders." The former driving examiner remembers little of the accident in East Perth 20 years ago, but knows he had to be revived. His son also lives with a brain injury, after a traffic crash. Mr Hastie said he had nothing but support for his low-fi sign, including from Main Roads. He said the simple one-man road-safety campaign will continue for as long as he is able. "If it causes people to slow down... or saves one life it's worth it," he said.

14.01.2022 Our 2019 recipient is the East family. Jake you are dearly missed by so many. Our love and thoughts are with your family and friends always. Here are some heartfelt words from his family and important messages they would like prior to take on board. Jake East (aka Easty) had the world at his feet. He was tragically taken at age 22 by a freak accident, involving a brick pillar collapsing onto the hammock he was sitting in. Jake’s family would like to spread the message about... the dangers of hammocks that are secured to brick pillars or walls, to avoid any repeat of this terrible tragedy. Jake was truly a special soul, he has left a mark on many people’s hearts that will never be forgotten. He genuinely made a difference in people’s lives, from his toddler years right through to adulthood, he had a gift for always putting others before himself, lifting people up, making them smile and always going out of his way to help wherever he could. He could light up any room with his huge smile and his big arms that were always up for a hug. He was an energetic and adventurous outdoorsman, he loved motorbikes, camping, fishing, hanging with friends and genuinely enjoying their company. He was an inspiration, as to how we as humans should treat each other. Selfless, kind, compassionate, fun & family oriented. Jake was enjoying his physiotherapy studies at Nottredam University and was looking forward to a career in helping people heal, he had one year left of his degree. It was no surprise to his loved ones that he chose such a caring profession where he could help others. From dux of school, head boy at high school, numerous citizenship awards, volunteering his time to help the homeless, welcoming and inducting new kids to his university and being the best big cousin who always had time for the kids and his family, he really was something special. Jake worked so hard for everything he achieved in his life, always willing to give 100% effort and making things happen for himself. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy that will never be forgotten. Forever in our hearts.

05.01.2022 A message from Jack’s family for the Easter Holidays In the early moments of GOOD FRIDAY 2017 Jack lost his life in our hometown of Collie. Jack was the 49th person to become a statistic of Road Trauma in 2017 and the only person to lose their life over the Easter Period that year. We will never forget seeing our beautiful boy lying lifeless in the morgue of Collie Hospital and we will never get over the horrific life sentence we have been given. ... Please, we beg you Don’t drink and drive Don’t speed Don’t drive tired Wear a seatbelt Put away your mobile phones You are responsible for every person in your vehicle. Please drive safely so everyone gets to go home to the ones they love. #Drivesootherssurvive #everylifematters We love you and miss you so very much Jack. You should be here Love Mum (Tarryn),Dad and Tayla x
