24.01.2022 Yesterday, just in time for the celebration of #InternationalNursesDay, we successfully delivered around 200 food packs for our brave medical workers. This ...could not have happened without the support of our community! Thank you to everyone who donated in our "Buy A Meal For A Medical Worker" campaign. Thank you also to our chefs, managers, and staff who cooked and prepared for these meals. You guys are amazing! Over the last month or so, we have been able to cook and deliver almost 500 meals to support our health heroes who consistently put themselves in danger to keep us healthy. Thank goodness we did not get the full impact of Coronavirus that some of the other countries around the world have had to deal with, yet our health heroes still face the same risk every day not knowing if the virus is going to arrive or not. Hopefully, they will not have to face what we have seen overseas at any time ever. Again, thank you to all medical workers for being in the front line in facing this battle against COVID-19! Happy International Nurses Day for yesterday!

14.01.2022 Here at Little Jack Horner we have been watching the news with you and we are incredibly grateful to our front-line workers, our doctors, nurses and medical pro...fessionals who have been working around the clock to save lives and help people in their greatest time of need. We also know that a lot of them are separated from their families at this time and have no time to think of themselves, let alone think about preparing their lunches and dinners. We have been looking for ways to help and last week we were able to cook 200 meals for medics feeding legends like Johnny (pictured below), to make their lives a little bit easier during this time. But now we need your help. In the last week we have had to close our doors due to Covid 19. BUT we have a fully functioning kitchen and a team of workers that are ready to help the amazing medical teams at the Prince of Wales. In fact we want this new idea to reach St Vincent’s and surrounding medical venues and here is how you can help. We are looking to the community to buy a meal for our front line workers so we can look after them whilst they are looking after everyone else. These meals will be fresh, wholesome meals and can be produced for between $6 & $8 a meal. Our goal would be to raise enough funds to produce 300 - 500 meals per week, for however long we are in shutdown for. In real terms this is about 1 days worth of meals for those medics at work with around 200 of them working a single shift per hospital. We would love to do more, but it is a good place to start. This is our opportunity to give back to the heroes on the front line, to say thank you as a community for risking their own lives to save others. How can you help? Donate $8 for one meal, donate $40 for 5 meals, Donate $80 for 10 meals, Donate whatever you can and say thank you to the people who are working so hard to save lives. Thank you! We wanted to also address the fact that this will be a not for profit exercise. All money raised will be used for produce, wages and other expenses that are directly related to the production of these meals. This money is not to keep our business running but simply to use the resources we have to make a difference.
