24.01.2022 Tell him he’s dreaming... Oh he knows...

23.01.2022 Something new, same old water bending off a rock though.

22.01.2022 On a bit of a dry spell these recent weeks. For those interested in the simple method being used for the coursework found in our website www.jacktar.com.au please see this recent post I really missing being in the school of art, around all of my peers, my friends. I’m sure plenty of people have sacrificed a lot in 2020.... I hope that those who have suffered are prepared to come out of this shining.

19.01.2022 Yet another print in process for being shipped up North where the sun is warmer. The Freshwater|Saltwater Study series that has been on a few walls since 2019 can be seen at www.jacktar.com.au, limited editions and sealed with the trademarked wax seal stamp.

19.01.2022 Conjuring up some new methods, with new tools, to make new ideas come to life. Light painting and water go so well together. Graduating the Master of Photography program, here we come!

17.01.2022 This month in my real world position we skipped out to several of the checkpoints where VICPOL and the ADF are working alongside containing the bio-threat of SARS-COV19. Being a part of something bigger than art is important to us and community matters. Now it's time to get back to the ABCs... Accountability. Brews. Creating. JT-

16.01.2022 We have had some really amazing tools delivered today from a master of light painting! Denis Smith has been really generous and we are proud to have his tools to use for the graduating semester at RMIT School of Art Master of Photography program in Melbourne. While in lock down, we will be sure to explore colour and light, while staying on the wide oceans in our artificially constructed water series.... If you haven't seen Den's amazing adventures, please visit https://www.denissmith.com.au/liquid-light Or visit Den's Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/the_ball_of_light/?hl=en Thank you for your efforts in workshops and online tutorials, Den! It is brilliant to see your Ball of Light series at the Monash Gallery of Art in 2019 as an intern! Subscribe on Youtube! https://www.youtube.com/c/SCHOOLOFLIGHT/videos

15.01.2022 Atmosphere Absolute 2020 is beginning to find new layers while we work with a new material, coffee. What do you think, is the added element making for something exciting? The third semester is coming to a close in the Master of Photography program, and graduation is nigh!... #2020vision #masterofphotography

14.01.2022 Sea State Seven, 2020 is the graduating photographic work for the RMIT Master of Photography program. This image, Sea State Nine (Phenomenal), is indicative of the the ocean's gargantuan power, capturing the liquid into an anthropomorphised form. Sea faring cultures have historically told and documented great beasts and beings rising from the sea and decimating humankind.... It is exciting to be in the closing weeks of my program and the fellowship of artists brings a new wave of belonging. JT-

13.01.2022 Virtual Exhibition for the closing weeks to graduation in the RMIT Master of Photography program. Please pop on in

12.01.2022 This year has seen so much drastic change amongst the wider community. Personally, the opportunity to grow further digitally has been presented through the Master of Photography and with that, new things are coming to mind in lieu of being physically present at classes. This is a link to a virtual gallery that has been conjured with a fresh series called Atmosphere Absolute.... It has been really fun interacting with online resources after spending much of 2019 imbedded in physical fibre based prints for exhibitions. I hope you enjoy and as always if there is feedback and criticism I’d rather it shared with me to evolve than not. Take care out there. JT

11.01.2022 Time for a ‘Fresh Start’. Art/Edit Issue No.27 features us on pg118-119. We were granted a chance to discuss some important cultural and socio-political issues, while remaining positive for an inclusive and creative future among some incredibly talented people.... Our oppos are grieving this weekend. We wish to share our condolences to them, their friends, and the family of the deceased. On a light note, thank you for those willing new members of the collective for being patient with me devising how best to meet the needs of all parties, including our potential clients and the stoic seafarers we represent. Life is an amazing journey, let’s be in it together. JT-

11.01.2022 We have had some time out from our own endeavours, for a few more important things. This is one of those results. Thank you Aussie Veterans, keep succeeding ... #supportingeachother

09.01.2022 Endless inspiration from the First Lady. If you thrive on adventure and being beyond your capabilities, this is the visual journey to follow. We thrive on pushing beyond the limits, beyond our own. And the further we can push others, the greater for the common good.

09.01.2022 Another lovely addition to the graduating semester

04.01.2022 Atmosphere Absolute, 2020. RMIT Masters of Photography, Semester 3. 2020 has thrown some hammers already, and the pounding pessimistic side of me has prevailed more than I can bare.... I've had to harness traits from a lifetime ago, adaptability, perseverance, restraint. Being cognisant of the societal impact has also encouraged my continuation and peers and academic staff have been more valuable to my progress than I could ever describe. Atmosphere Absolute has been aptly used to not only be this body of work, made in the confines of a Do It Ourselves makeshift light studio at home, with the best photo assistant imaginable, to conclude a tumultuous semester, almost completing my postgraduate journey. I'm really eager to get back to my cohort, it simply isn't the same without them all around. We hope you enjoy this collected body of work using rainwater, coffee, some other rare ingredients and some in camera magic. We're thinking these would look incredible on aluminium.

02.01.2022 It’s those care packages that makes the world go round.
