A throwback to a very special and refreshing group show with some of Australias talented paper artists with the amazing @clarecelesteart at @claremonttowncentre with @formwa and Claremont business partners back in May 2019. It was so much fun! .... . . This piece was exhibited in Claremont library (Perth WA) for the #offthepage2019 art installation. . I was shocked (but extremely delighted) when told that one of the photos of @gregory.t.nichols and I were chosen as part of the exhibition! Lots of trinkets and celebratory ornaments of lunar animal zodiac or long scrolls of characters that I have no idea whats written on them. All auspicious of course . What if in the future I cannot describe the touch, smell, sound, taste and what they (animals/plants) look like? What if you are not around to explain? What if your children dont have the knowledge to explain to their children. .... . HELP humans, help animals, help civilisation. . . Thank you for making sure I have a voice in social, economic, cultural and political views. And to the others, thank you for recognising our achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, cultural, linguistic, economic or political. . . My maternal grandmothers feet was bounded at a very young age. This... practice was considered an attractive quality within the bourgeois society then. But luckily her feet was released at 8 years of age when my great grandparents finally came to their senses. Despite all that, she lived a long life with apparently amazing stamina with her little size 4 feet and 5 3 tall. Bless.. . . 01.01.2022 Confession: I dont have any precision when it comes to folding papers (thats why I struggled so much with the Muira fold ). I realised the simplest task of folding drains me..... ok... more like the pre-crease section that drains me. But after a few hundred mountain and valley folds, I realised it is an intrinsic quality of all origami artists (yes, ALL origami artist) to be one with the entire process from pre-creasing their patterns which sometimes take up to a few hours... before actually creating towards their final piece. My point is... I dont know enough about paper folding and the experimentation and learning continues... oh yes... and breathe... . . This short recording was one of many experimentations of me creating into the night. I know its simple right? Im just slow .
