25.01.2022 Wet weather weekend guys, perfect time to get your trailer maintenance done ready for Xmas. We see so many boat and ski trailers at the ramp every weekend with noisy bearings, rollers missing and even wheels coming completely off! A good note is to record somewhere what model bearings your trailer takes as well- when the time comes to replace, it will save a lot of hassle.

24.01.2022 Patrick was fishing off the jetty this morning when he landed this cracking jack measuring a total of 49cm long, he caught this beauty on pilchards from our shop !!! Great stuff mate

23.01.2022 The Jacobs Well jetty fires again. Robert came in and bought some small slimy Macks off us and just nailed this 80cm lizard. I’ve seen plenty caught off the jetty here on the first of the run out tide as was today. Thanks heaps mate for sharing your catch!!

Thank you to Tipplers Licensed Cafe... for their support in making this event possible! 1030-1100; Jacobs Well Boat Ramp and Swimming Enclosure 1130-1300; Tippers Cafe and Campground 1400-1430; Horizon Shores Marina 1530-1630; Jacobs Well (Including Tavern, Tourist Park, etc.) PLEASE NOTE: Santa will be onboard an active rescue vessel. While we will have another rescue vessel on duty that day, if our secondary vessel is required for an emergency or rescue activation, the Santa Visit will be abandoned to attend the activation. Our priorities will always be the safety of life at sea, and we thank all of our supporters for understanding.

13.01.2022 Mud crabs have been going nuts the past few days around the local area. Definitely worth putting a few pots in. Just a reminder that there is a limit of 7 mud crabs per person, but also a boat limit of 14 crabs maximum if 2 or more persons on board. Obviously no take allowed on female crabs as well. Good work Luke, Kerrie and Andy!

10.01.2022 146 crab pots have been seized by Gold Coast QBFP. Officers recently teamed up with the Gold Coast Waterways Authority to remove derelict crab pots from the... Southport Sundale Bridge to the Logan River. Don’t lose your pots! Crab pots must be marked with the user's surname and address and your gear should be removed from the water when you finish up. Crab pots that are left in the water continue to 'ghost fish' and can trap crabs, fish and other animals like turtles and even birds. You can report abandoned and unmarked crab pots by calling the 24-hour Fishwatch hotline on 1800 017 116 (toll free within Queensland).
