22.01.2022 WORKING TOGETHER FOR ACTION ON NORTH WEST FUEL PRICES Pilbara and North West residents are long overdue for relief at the fuel bowsers. We are paying the cost of the price war that is going on in the metropolitan area. That’s why I have been working with all of my Parliamentary colleagues from all parties representing the North West to put pressure on the major fuel suppliers, the ACCC, and the Federal Treasurer.... The letter below has gone to the major fuel suppliers in our region such as Shell, Caltex and BP to make our position as your North West representatives clear. The ACCC has the responsibility to deal with this, and they need to regulate these fuel companies as soon as possible. Thank you to my fellow North West Parliamentary representatives for your co-operation and for standing as a collective front. Today we ask all North West residents to keep the pressure up by using www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au/ and only fuel up at the cheapest price this will help send the message to the fuel companies. We have formally raised these concerns with both the Premier and Federal Minister. While understanding there have been significant changes announced recently, we know there are some unintended consequences for our small centres. If your Centre or business is at risk and requires assistance please don’t hesitate to contact me, or your local Member of Parliament.
