22.01.2022 CHRISTMAS OPENING HOURS Closed Tuesday 24th December Reopen Monday 30th December... CLOSED Wednesday 1st January It has been a big year for many of us. There is a feeling of closure, at least for some, on a psychological level , and the thought of a fresh start in January is refreshing. I have been honoured to hold a space and watch the struggles and growth of so many beautiful people this past year. Thank you everyone for your support, generosity, and passion, it has been a privilege to be part of your healing journeys. With that I wish you all a very beautiful Christmas break, whatever that looks like, and a happy new year. I very much look forward to doing it all again in 2020

22.01.2022 Just to follow that previous post (because apparently I can’t be greedy and have two links on one post ) This book is a result of the research into this area Fascinating read https://books.google.com.au/books

19.01.2022 I have been exploring the constitutional facial acupuncture. This particular style (not sure about the others yet, so don’t judge!) seeks to change the facial lines through, and as part of, processing emotion. While researching I found this little nugget. Apparently while facial acupuncture seeks to draw out and eliminate emotion Botox has been shown to inhibit both the expression and the perception of emotion. How fascinating is that! Therapists have long been aware that so...metimes releasing muscles can trigger an emotional release. I find it interesting that by inhibiting certain muscles it can actually stop the emotion being expressed, or understood in others. I can not give you the full article here, but the link in case you feel like purchasing https://www.sciencedirect.com//artic/pii/S0041010116301179

07.01.2022 You guys. Chloe's first acupuncture experience exceeded our wildest expectations. In this video you can see how relaxed she is during acupuncture and elect...roacupuncture (she literally fell asleep on her alpaca while listening to calming music)--and you can also see that she began to kick her legs, move her tail, and even STAND UP. This is incredible. Bear in mind that this is just a very small victory on a long road, but we now are looking ahead with more optimism than ever. Thank you to everyone who has donated so she can receive this care. We love you so much. Thank you for believing in Chloe. And thank you CityPaws Animal Hospital for giving Chloe a chance! #teamchloe #gochloego #kittenlady

07.01.2022 I have been watching the COVID-19 situation very closely and monitoring the guidelines as they evolve. While I can minimise risk and support you in a warm inviting safe space, I have to admit it has been a challenge to attempt to do what I do while maintaining acceptable social distance! It has been a heartbreaking decision to temporarily close and one I have struggled with for many reasons. Social responsibility ultimately prevails as I join forces with the many businesses... in my community who have already stepped up with the aim to work together to minimise damage. As this situation is a bit unpredictable, it is uncertain how long the doors need to remain shut. I will tentatively plan to reopen on the 17th April. I will continue to monitor and re-evaluate regularly and makes changes as necessary. The online booking remains closed for now, it will reopen as soon as I have the clearance to resume business. Please keep an eye on my Facebook page for updates and feel free to maintain contact with me throughout. In the meantime take care and make use of the free content widely available to reduce stress, stretch your body and feed your soul. I will happily share some of my favorite links on the Facebook page and I encourage you to to openly share some of your own personal stories. Be kind, be responsible and be loving but most of all be safe. I look forward to seeing you all again very soon. Warm regards, Lisa

06.01.2022 Turns out I have air conditioning, it has been a good day to get acupuncture!

06.01.2022 For all the first timers, or for those thinking about it. It is very different to the horror your brain might be imagining (the idea of needles can sometimes bring unpleasant thoughts!) Many are surprised to find themselves very relaxed at the end of the treatment. Give it a try! https://www.aboveandbeyondacupuncture.com/what-does-acupun/

02.01.2022 Hi Guys We have implemented COVID 19 infection control procedures at Jade Acupuncture in order to maximise the health and safety of all who enter the practise We don’t need to change a lot but we have definitely ramped up the procedures in place. And so we are pleased to announce a few changes ... Rooms are being ventilated between each persons (not new, but needs to be clarified) Magazines have been removed from the waiting area (Sorry!) Common surface areas are being wiped between each person. Including door handles face cradles (also not new, but needs to be mentioned) and furniture. Bathrooms are wiped regularly We have some fabulous immune boosting points which will be used liberally!! Please choose to use the bathroom down the hall to wash hands before coming in. We do have hand sanitizer available throughout the premise for you to use. If you are unwell please phone/text or email ahead of your scheduled appointment If you have been overseas in the last 14 days please notify us (before coming in!) Disruption will be kept at a minimum and we will aim to keep our peaceful atmosphere. (You will need to have a calm atmosphere after dealing with the extra stress and uncertainty!) Please don’t hesitate to call and discuss any concerns you have. I look forward to working with you to keep you healthy Lisa
