17.01.2022 Short Term Accommodation! We’re always looking to provide the best services for our participants so recently we have started trialling short term accommodation/respite. The team took Emre away for 2 nights to Manly for some fun activities like riding the ferry, go-karting and chilling by the beach. They even got to meet The Bachelor but I think the girls were a bit more excited than Emre though! ... We believe these short trips are a great way to try new things, engage in the community, learn new skills, practice independence and also give carers (in this case mum) a break at home.
16.01.2022 Decorations on point for Halloween week at Jade
16.01.2022 MINI ABACUS A.K.A. TALKING BEADS A little technique from our Speech Pathologist Clarissa for our kiddies who have some trouble making certain sounds e.g. 'K' sound. In a 45 min session, Speechies should aim for about 100 practices of the sound. It might be a BIG number, but with this tool we just need 10 words and complete the abacus 10 times! Kids also benefit from visualising their progress based on how many beads there are left! Simple but effective

14.01.2022 PSA: "One of the new coronavirus cases from the Crossroads Hotel worked at a Kmart in Casula on July 10, from 5pm until midnight. People who visited that during that time should monitor for symptoms, self-isolate and get tested, Dr Chant said."... Stay safe everyone!

You now know exactly who’s a part of the Jade team and our staff no longer have to worry about what to wear each day! This uniform is our ‘activewear’ which is very comfortable and the team just love it (especially Bo who thinks he looks super cute ).
11.01.2022 JULY CHANGES AT JADE IN RESPONSE TO COVID OUTBREAK AT CASULA Dear clients/care givers, You may have heard of the Covid19 outbreak at The Crossroads Hotel in Casula recently. As of today, there are 9 known cases linked to this outbreak. The safety and wellbeing of our clients, caregivers, families and staff is of utmost importance so we have put a few things in place:... - Encouraging all clients to have their appointments as online (telehealth) for the rest of the month if possible. Please call us on 8712 2897 to discuss this. - If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms, been to The Crossroads Hotel since July 3rd, in contact with someone who visited the hotel, or in contact with someone who has Covid19 you are not to come into the centre but stay at home. - Anyone who enters our centre will need to have their temperature checked and hand sanitised at Reception - Continuing our no handshake policy, maintain 1.5m distance where possible and coughing into the elbow. - Our staff will continue to disinfect and wipe down the rooms between each session and adhere to infection control measures. At the end of the month we will reassess the situation and act accordingly with the safety of everyone as priority. Thank you, Jade Management Team
