19.01.2022 White diamonds are revered for their lack of colour. But this is not the case with the rare and exquisite pink diamond! More vivid pink colour in the stone means that the diamond is more valuable. As the market for pink diamonds differs to that of white diamonds, these pink lovelies can tend to be more expensive. While 90% of the world’s pink diamonds are mined in the remote Kimberley region of Western Australia, less than 1% of the total of the diamonds mined in this remot...e and rugged environment are pink! Coloured diamonds like pink take longer to process than their normal counterparts. Closing this year, Rio Tinto’s Argyle mine was first explored for these beauties back in the late 1970’s. After assessment to ensure economic viability, mining operations were commenced in 1983. Sorting will continue until late 2020, which is when the final rough sale will occur. Still today, no one is sure what gives the pink diamonds their beautiful colour as they contain the same impurities and compounds as white diamonds, however it is believed the colour difference could have been have been caused with some kind of seismic shock which altered the molecular structure (Australian Mining 27/10/2020). The diamonds discovered in the volcanic pipe near Lake Argyle were formed about 1.2 billion years ago! Once mined from the ore and acid washed, the next destination for the diamonds is Perth where the stones are sorted for sale. 18.01.2022 Designed by Erin and handmade my Michael, this one-of-a-kind pendant was just what Robyn wanted for her precious yellow sapphires. Before Robyn became a customer at Jade Jewellers she had always used the big brand jewellers. While they were ok, she didn’t want to ask them to create her pendant feeling that it would be shipped off somewhere else to be made. I have heard so many great reports about the team at Jade's which is why decided to give them a go, Robyn said. ... As we walked in the door, we were welcomed with a smile by Gary and the girls. We knew we'd found "Our" jeweller straight away. Robyn had an idea of the style of pendant that wanted made with their precious sapphires and were so pleased when they received the three design drawings that Erin had created for them. We didn't hesitate to give them the go ahead to make the pendant, Robyn said. I could not be happier with the quality of workmanship, price and the service we received. 02.01.2022 A few months ago, Jade Jewellers customer Amber didn’t come into our store on a whim but based on a family connection dating back 26 years. Amber’s grandmother purchased her granddaughter’s first piece of jewellery - a beautiful name bracelet to celebrate her birth. Keeping the tradition strong Amber reached out to Erin to design and create a special piece of jewellery to celebrate her gorgeous daughter’s first birthday. Erin and Amber had many conversations and consults an...d bounced ideas off each other until they had the perfect design. They settled for a Peridot stone (the birth stone of Amber’s daughter) with a vintage inspired fancy halo and shoulders. The stone was cut in an emerald cut and Amber’s daughter’s initial was included in the back of the setting. In a matter of weeks Amber had the ring in her hands which she said was absolutely perfect for the occasion. Jade Jewellers were absolutely brilliant to work with, Amber said. They were in constant communication with me throughout the process and got to know about me and my daughter on a personal level.
