25.01.2022 A change is as good as a holiday they say... So because we missed our holiday due to Covid-19 I've changed up the room. A few little changes to make then I'll be set to start back up. Only 3.5 weeks until I return from maternity leave where has the time gone?

25.01.2022 With my first week back at work the children have settled in very nicely, we explored all there is to offer both inside and out. I'm looking forward to doing it all again on Monday and I'm sure the children are too.

24.01.2022 Quality Area 6 Collaborative partnerships with families and communities. Today's parent input: Master L likes dolls and prams at the moment. With this input I was able to set up a dramatic play area. Dramatic play is an excellent way for children to develop their imagination and creativity. Children also have the freedom to express their feelings through dramatic play.

24.01.2022 Today we went on an excursion to White Ridge Farm, needless to say the children and I had a blast. I cant wait to extend on this interest with the children over the next week or more.

23.01.2022 Easter sensory tub filled with natural and processed items. Children are using imagination and language skills during this activity.

23.01.2022 Henny Penny Hatching program The children are loving learning about the lifecycle of chickens and how to care for our baby chicks.

23.01.2022 Learng Outcome 3.2 Children take increasing responsibilty for their own healyh and physical wellbeing. Some of the children don't like to eat these foods at meal times but they are willing to taste them when picked fresh from the garden. We love watering, tasting, smelling and picking the vegetables and herbs from our very own vegetable garden.

21.01.2022 Play room is all set up. A few more weeks and I'll be open.

21.01.2022 Our vegetables are going strong, we have a few little tomatoes growing and looks like the capsicums are about to start growing too. However a caterpillar has got into the brussel sprouts and munched on majority of the leaves.

19.01.2022 Easter puppet show all ready for the children. This activity will use language skills, imagination and role playing.

18.01.2022 A special visitor came and left a colour matching egg hunt for us.

18.01.2022 This week we have an extension from last weeks dinosaur activities plus a new activity table of farm animals after visiting a childs farm style birthday party today. I have also included counting puzzles, books and sensory activities for the week.

17.01.2022 Yesterday we attended the schemes children's Christmas party. What a great way to start unwinding for the end of year.

14.01.2022 I will be returning to work October 22nd, please inquire for availability.

14.01.2022 Today i was ecstatic to see that i have been nominated for the 2019 Excellence in Family Day Care Educator of the Year awards. This is the second year in a row that I have been nominated. It goes without saying that I wouldn't be the educator that i am without the ongoing support from families in care, scheme coordinators and my family. Really appreciate the nomination

14.01.2022 Site supervisor checking the puzzles are secure

14.01.2022 What an action packed first day back! It's great to be back doing what I love doing

11.01.2022 Today we had our first of many outings to Bush Kindy. We enjoyed a narrated bush walk, looking at the fish, watering the plants, chalk drawing and playing in the playground. We will definitely be heading back again for more fun outdoor activities.

11.01.2022 The children and I have been busy attending play groups and parks. The children get to socialise and interact in larger group settings whilst still getting the individual care that family day care offers.

11.01.2022 Frozen treats for the children this week made with home grown bananas and local honey

10.01.2022 Spring has sprung and we have embraced the lovely weather, expending our gardening. Last week we added hanging pots of strawberries and flowers and we started the woolworths discivery garden program. This week we will be extending by planting more discovery pots, a counting and number recognition flower activity and an edible sensory tub filled with edible dirt, carrots, mushrooms and spinach.

09.01.2022 A colour recognition and sorting activity all ready for tomorrow’s children.

09.01.2022 All ready for our little Christmas/Maternity leave break up party.

08.01.2022 Tonight we were incredibly lucky to witness a chicken hatching! We've been checking in on the egg all day waiting for this very special moment

08.01.2022 This week we have been learning 'all about me', talking about skin/eye/hair colour, doing self portraits and measuring our height.

07.01.2022 I hope everyone has had a wonderful long weekend! I have just started maternity leave and will be back to work in roughly 6 months. Take care!

06.01.2022 Im so lucky to be part of a scheme that has a resource library, allowing us to extend on interests with quality resources like these coloured blocks. We will be focusing on colours this month and this is just one of the many wonderful items I have borrowed to keep busy children engaged in learning activities.

06.01.2022 I'm very lucky to have such wonderful children and families in care, thank you for such a thoughtful gift

06.01.2022 Some examples for the children to make their own Christmas treats this week.

05.01.2022 Keep an eye out, lots of changes happening! While on maternity leave we've moved house and now I'm in the process of setting up again. Not long until I'm back at work, no start date as of yet but somewhere in the ball park of 5 weeks (maybe less if we can smash out these changes, maybe longer if we are at hit with hurdles). I'm looking forward to returning!

04.01.2022 A little set up to extend on a childs interest of dinosaurs.

02.01.2022 Yesterday we extended our interest of colour and blocks by tracing the coloured shadows cast by the sunshine shining through the blocks.

02.01.2022 Mix and match facial activity.

02.01.2022 The children are showing an interest in all things diggers and dirt so for todays invitation to play I set up an indoor construction style play dough tub.

01.01.2022 A new weekly learning activity. Each week we will discuss the letter, number and colour then follow on with all sorts of activities which might include tracing, painting, sensory, language plus plenty more.

01.01.2022 A little nature table for the children to explore.
