24.01.2022 There's a stark difference between a general gynecologist and an advanced trained excision surgeon in endometriosis. It could be the difference between you getting overlooked or getting the care you need. It could even be the difference between you having surgery and them telling you nothing was found, to actually finding it and having it properly removed. Due to stories of poor treatment, poor surgery or using ablation (which often sees it grow back, or more adhesions) th...is instills a lot of fear into many sufferers, thus they may miss out on getting the proper care they need. You should all know my story by now. That my endo was originally missed. Last year when I revisited the issue, I originally asked my GP for a referral to a gyno (because I didn't know any better). He said "do you know any that you want to see"? I didn't have a clue. I said "just any". Thinking that's what you do. He referred me to a gyno who specialised in oncology . $450 later (for a 10 minute consult and colposcopy) she referred me to someone else who's be better suited. Granted she was lovely, and understood straight away that she wasn't who I needed. But $450 for almost no reason just like that! That's when I got in my zone and started making further enquiries. Low and behold I learnt about this category of advanced surgeons. You can imagine how much that fuelled my fire. I thought "that's it. I'm making this my life purpose". Everyone deserves to get it right the first time. No one should have to fork out thousands of dollars (and heartache) repairing the mistakes of the prior surgeon (and sadly that's the reality of many). TIP: there are some great endo Facebook groups where you can do a quick search to find a good surgeon in your area or write a post and people are usually pretty quick to reply. E.g "Inclusive Endometriosis Support Australia".

22.01.2022 What’s one thing you’re going to reach out and grab this year? For me, it’s making sure I set myself up before these babies come so that my business stays afloat and I can still settle into motherhood the way that I want to. Running a business and going into maternity leave is daunting. Will my staff run my tea business the way I run it? Will my clients be okay with a different Naturopath for a while?... What if I suddenly don’t make any money to support me and my family? What if I need to go back to work by physically don’t have the energy? These are all the fears of a business owner with babies on the way. So I’m surrendering to two things: 1. It will fall into place as it should. 2. It won’t always be perfect and that’s okay. I also take comfort in that when running a business I can do things my way. I’m my own limit. If I need time off. I can take it. I can work around my babies and family. by @jessicashepherdphotography

22.01.2022 There are many co-morbodities that come with endo. But which ones are a direct causation? Irregular periods are not. If you have irregular periods, it may be due to PCOS, underactive thyroid, gut dysbiosis (bacterial overgrowth coupled with intestinal permeability), stress and dietary problems... The good news is, most of the time we can get them back on track. It takes an investigative approach to first discover whats causing it. Then a holistic approach to use diet, herbs and nutrients to tell your body to get its shit back together. Do you have endometriosis AND irregular periods?

21.01.2022 Do these statistics alarm you? Well that’s only half of them. Thanks @ash_chad321 for bringing my awareness to this important day. Sadly, there are many ways that I can relate to these statistics. ... For almost 2 years I had the privilege of being a triple zero call-taker for police. Anyone who has that job will tell you one of the most common calls you take is for domestic violence. Working there truly opened my eyes to the prevalence and severity that really takes place behind closed doors. I cannot share the stories, but it is as bad as you hear. As a Naturopath, I also cannot tell you how many women bravely tell me their stories of emotional, physical and sexual abuse they have experienced both as a child and/or as an adult. Personally, when I was just 13, I was in an abusive relationship with a possessive older guy. It damaged me for many years of my important teenage life. Later in life, I was also subjected to sexual coercion and taken advantage of under the influence several times. Much like these statistics, as a young woman, you just accepted that was normal. Or that it was your fault for being put in that position. To any young woman reading this, it is never okay for you to put in any position you don’t feel comfortable with. It’s never okay for someone to pressure you, manipulate you, gas-light you or abuse you in any sense. What can you do to stop this? - SPEAK UP: if you see a man speaking to or about a woman inappropriately, pull them up! Make it very clear that it’s not okay. - ASK YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY: if you suspect someone around you is a victim, speak to them. Don’t tip-toe around the issue. Advise them of their options in how they can get help. - GET HELP: if you’re a victim, speak to your friends and family. You can call 000 anytime whether you’re in danger now, or it happened earlier. Family violence is taken very seriously. You can also call 1800 RESPECT. If YOU’RE a man who has these tendencies or attitudes, seek help from a counsellor and educate yourself on the statistics. Speak to women about why this is not okay. Certain attitudes can be passed on from generation to generation. Thus we need to break them.

21.01.2022 If you think people dont want to hear what youve got to say, they judge your beliefs, or priorities, they give you shit for being healthy, or you can just feel it that they think youre odd, then you need to find a new group of people. You need to do some bulk unfollowing on IG and follow new people on your wave length. I remember I used to fear sharing what I had to say ALL BECAUSE there were those one or two people in my circle whos voices I already pre-emoted in my ...head, flattening anything Id have to say. Those people HAVE GOT TO GO. They do not speak for you. They are just not your people. Personally, I follow several other Naturopaths, nutritionists, body positivity accounts, people who are into the same things, and anything health science and inspirational. See more

19.01.2022 Part 1: I knew nothing could ever prepare me for pregnancy. But nothing could have ever prepared me for twins. Particularly as a naturopath, you go in with these ideals of how you want your birth to go like I want a vaginal water birth with no interventions. ... And although you get the usual don’t expect things to go to plan by every mother that ever was, never did I expect to have to completely re wire my brain in the way I’ve had to the past few months. When we learnt we were having identicals we knew it became a higher risk pregnancy. But I still went into this pregnancy with a singleton mindset, trying to force my ideals into a different mould. It was only intensified by the well-intentioned people around me reinforcing these beliefs saying things like don’t listen to them, do your own thing when they really had no idea about the different risks of twins sharing a placenta. Lately, my mind has gone wild obsessing over every detail, every research paper and every professional opinion on the best option for our beautiful babies. And the more I read the more I was deeply concerned that I would make an irresponsible choice. One group I’m in vehemently stands against vaginal births with MCDA twins, saying a planned c-section is the only safe way. Then another twin group I’m in regularly post their positive birth stories of a successful vaginal twin birth, sometimes even declining an epidural. Each group shares compelling evidence for both sides. But yet I had to then overcome more confusion by differentiating these birth stories by their countries as I’ve learnt our birthing systems vary considerably from Australia to America. After running myself into a hole with information overload, in the end I had to come back to two things: - Trust the process and my care team - Trust my own instincts with an informed decision After what has felt like studying a degree in twin births, my mind being pulled in every direction, I finally feel content with how things have to be. What this pregnancy has taught me is that sometimes we get stuck in our ideals and won’t allow room to move. To be continued...

18.01.2022 Brought to you by slippers, my husbands jumper and a sense of adventure.

On the show today, we have the gorgeous Dr Hannah Watson from @acupuncturewellness_co with us to explain the science and function of this ancient art that has stood the test of time, and how she uses it to help women with endometriosis, fertility, and IVF. 18.01.2022 Tomorrow is R U OK Day and so I thought Id jump on an Instagram Live and share my 5 key strategies to deal with it all. So grab a cup of tea and lets chat -> head over to @JadeWalkerHealth at 3:30pm tomorrow Send me a message or write in the comments below if you have any topics/questions youd like me to cover.

17.01.2022 Stop procrastinating. Stop being a perfectionist. Just start. Whatever it is youve been wanting to do. Just make the first move. If its not quite right the first time, who cares. Starting anything is better than nothing. And this is often the biggest road block that gets in the way of everyones goals. Be it health, business, building a brand... You just have to start. You wont know until you try.

17.01.2022 Want to win all of this? Head to @jadewalkertea to enter now!

15.01.2022 27 WEEKS My first major milestone reached. Many MCDA twins are born from this point forward who still go on to become healthy babes (not ignoring the extra stress of time in NICU). ... Today’s a good day! And so was the day before! You really do just take it day by day and don’t expect anything anymore. Reflux is now a daily fixture. There’s no such thing as being comfortable anymore. And sleep, well, you already know. But the babies are very active and my love for them is so strong it often makes me tear up. Only 9 weeks tops to go. I’ll be having a scan and echo with the maternal foetal medicine (MFM) unit at the Royal Women’s in a couple of weeks who are more skilled with multiples than general obstetricians, and I look forward to getting a little closer to understanding how my birth might go. (Think of an MFM to a general Obstetrician, as an advanced trained excision surgeon in endometriosis is to a general gynaecologist). I’m feeling fairly well prepared, with all the major to-dos ticked off. And now I feel like I can relax as much as possible until they arrive.

15.01.2022 Lets talk periods! Tonight with @thesoulconnection_ on IG LIVE at 5pm. @ Geelong, Victoria

15.01.2022 Its time to re-introduce myself. Im 29, a degree-qualified Naturopath, married with a groodle, and I live in Geelong. People call me passionate. ... Im outspoken. I have a no BS, evidence-based approach to natural health. And I will not judge you for enjoying a glass of wine or eating chocolate on the occasion! I am the proud creator of @jadewalkertea, which is a unique organic tea range, completely biodegradable packaging, and serves to relieve what ails you. As an outspoken and passionate female, I also have a podcast called The Jade Walker Way. I absolutely love cooking and Im passionate about the environment. Keeping up with the times, 99% of my consults are ran completely online (which I was doing well before Telehealth became a buzz word ), seeing clients now from all over the world. My passion: In January this year, I was given the gift of something Id chased for a long time. A diagnosis of endometriosis. And when I say gift, I mean it in the literal sense. Because being heard, and confirming something Id suspected that was constantly brushed over by most doctors, was one of the most relieving moments. This gift has driven me even deeper into honing my skills in this important area so that I could not only help myself, but also help others regain quality of life when living with endo. As someone who experienced debilitating period pain every month, and tried every thing under the sun, I will not bull-shit you into a magic cure-all. Because it doesnt exist. But what I know for sure, is that Naturopathic medicine CAN provide relief and prevent worsening of the condition with an evidence-based holistic approach, whilst complementing the best of our amazing advanced trained excision surgeons. No one should have to suffer heavy bleeding, painful periods, and all the other unpleasant symptoms it comes with. Its my vision that one day naturopathic medicine will be integrated into a multi-modality collaborative care team for endometriosis and other conditions alike. If you made it this far, thank you. Let me know, what youd like to see more of, or what youre loving @jessicashepherdphotography

14.01.2022 - Im sorry for anytime I ever asked a woman if she was having kids. - I used to think some women were being oversensitive. Now I get it. Its not your place to decide how someone should experience something. - Telling someone to "just and try and relax", is like someone dragging their nails down a chalk board. ...Continue reading

14.01.2022 Just finished an online Pilates class ran by one of my Naturopath friends who started @bigwellbeingco and it was exactly what I needed. I personally like doing things at home these days. I'm a self confessed home body. When it comes to exercise, I fluctuate a lot with what I feel like doing. I'd mentioned to some friends that I was looking for some new exercise that still gets my body moving but isn't too strenuous. And this was actually perfect. So if you're looking for a way to start your Saturday, definitely reach out to Tegan and join her online Pilates class. So welcoming and anyone can do it

14.01.2022 Partners of endo girls appreciate post Tag that number one rock who gets you through the tough times. For some reason, this period has been one of the worst Ive had in a long time. It wasnt so much the pain (although that seemed to drag on longer than normal), but the emotion and heaviness. The fatigue and nausea. I have no idea whats gone wrong as each previous period had been getting better and better. But the one thing that made me feel more comfortable was m...y husband @edwardroberts . Waking in the middle of the night feeling all out of sorts, realising Id soaked through, whilst fighting waves of nausea and feeling like I was going to pass out... the one thing that eased my stress was my husband asking is there anything I can do (a very important question Ive taught him to ask over the years ). Opening his arms to me was the comfort I needed. As I sobbed for absolutely no reason this morning, he knew how to make me laugh, and encouraged me to come out of the darkness of the bedroom and out onto the couch. Even better, he brought me home some pana chocolate. In times like these, the only thing, and the BEST thing a partner can do, is be there with open arms and bring a few of your favourite things. Because we know it will pass. And thats all we can do. Having someone there, be it a friend, family member, partner or even your dog is an important part of any care team. Thanks @jessicashepherdphotography for capturing this family photo See more

13.01.2022 Tender breasts before your period is a common problem. However, contrary to popular belief, its not normal. Let me explain two of the most common culprits I see clinically, along with how we fix it. 1. LOW IODINE... Our breasts are filled with iodine receptors. You can imagine these receptors throwing a tantrum when they dont get what they want. Low iodine is one of the many nutrient deficiencies we face today (poor soil being one reason). I found this was my problem. I used to get the most intense sore breasts. I couldnt run without holding them and Id go up a size. I would often convince myself I was pregnant, they were that sore. But once I started supplementing with iodine it completely cleared up. Best sources include seaweed and fish. However as both of these foods are prone to heavy metal contamination, supplementing can serve as an easy and cheap fix. NOTE: iodine can be problematic in high doses particularly in overactive thyroid conditions. Please consult a professional before self prescribing. 2. HIGH OESTROGEN If youre prone to lumpy fibrocystic breasts which worsens before your period, you may have something going on with poor detoxification of oestrogen. Let me get a little sciencey just for a sec. Oestrogen is metabolised through the liver. We have 3 different pathways oestrogen can go down: 1. 2-hydroxy (2OH) 2. 4-hydroxy 3. 16-hydroxy In a nut shell, the 2OH pathway is the most desirable. The 4OH pathway has been linked to heightened tumour potential, thus leading to excess proliferation. This means more growth that may lead to fibrocystic breasts, heavier periods and exacerbate conditions like fibroids and endometriosis. The 16OH pathway is highly linked to oestrogen dominant cancers like breast cancer. The good news is, we can use specific nutrients and supplements to help force the oestrogen back down the 2OH pathway once we identify this problem. Key evidence-based nutrients and supplements include those that are Sulfur-containing including DIIM, I3C, NAC and broccoli sprouts. This is why we often encourage a hormonal detox when we see women suffering from all ro See more

12.01.2022 * This video may be a sensitive topic for some. This video discusses hysterectomies for endometriosis *. I was recently asked by a few people to do a video on this topic. If you don’t have the time to watch this video, the main take-home is this: hysterectomies do not get rid of endo. There are many people who say they had the hysterectomy and still have pain. If you HAVE had a hysterectomy, I do want you to know this; there are still things we can do to support you. We w...ould still treat you in the same way as anyone else with endometriosis. Because we are not addressing the uterus. We are addressing the whole body. See more

12.01.2022 If there’s a hormone you want to look after, it’s progesterone. Whether you’re working on fertility or simply trying to regulate your hormones, progesterone is essential. At minimum, low progesterone can be associated with PMS. One reason is that progesterone stimulates GABA production which is a calming neurotransmitter. Other signs you may have low progesterone includes spotting before your period, weight gain, low sex drive, implantation failure, headaches, brain fog an...d sore breasts. Of course these symptoms can all be linked to other problems so it’s important to have your case assessed by a fertility naturopath who will take all aspects into account. You should also test your other hormones on day 3 of your period to get a full picture, and may need to do further testing such as a DUTCH test.

11.01.2022 Opening up those hips whilst charging my batteries under that gorgeous window sun. This session taught me a needed lesson. Given it was Yin, poses are held quite long. And at first I was getting impatient. Lets move it along I kept thinking. But then I realised that is the state of mind that Ive been in for the past 6 months... constantly in fast forward mode. As I listened to the guided yoga voice telling me to let go, I felt that need to be rushed, also let go. Ironically, when we slow down, we naturally become more efficient. Less scatter brain. Were able to focus on one task at a time, and do it well. Rather than try to do a shit job at 10 things at once. Beautiful Yin yoga for tight hips sequence by @sarahbethyoga

11.01.2022 Personalised medicine doesnt get any more personalised than this. My favourite thing, and what drew me to Naturopathy, was herbal medicine. The herbs in this blend are used to support stress, anxiety, low immune system, thyroid function and hormones. Have you experienced the power of herbal medicines?

10.01.2022 Common, yes. Normal? No. Pain, PMS, Irregular periods, heavy periods, clotting, sore breasts, acne, diarrhoea, significant bloating... All of these signs is your body screaming out "something isnt right" ... So what can you do? 1. Investigate: work with a Naturopath who specialises in this area so they can tell you exactly which tests to get, the best day to test, and how to properly interpretat the results. They will also ensure you get the most out of your doctors visits, which specialists to get a referal to, and what to ask for to get investigated for endometriosis or other (trust me, this isnt as simple as just seeing a gynaecologist). 2. Treat: have a Naturopath put together a tailored plan that includes key dietary advice, herbal medicines and nutrients that will help aid all of these problems. TOP TIP: often the three biggest things you can do are: remove your main stressor or manage it better (stop doing that thing you absolutely hate, get more sleep, meditate, heal your gut (probiotics, gut healing nutrients and more plant fibres), and remove dairy (dairy is inflammatory and a bitch to your hormones).

10.01.2022 We started out with 6 eggs. 4 made it to day 3. Only one embryo made it to day 5. But despite the devastation this mumma faced after feeling defeated, that fighting embryo had very big plans to become two. 25 weeks with these two peas in a pod. ... To think they'll be here in the next 11 or so weeks still makes eyes well with tears. See more

10.01.2022 SATURDAY BRUNCH Perfectly poached eggs on @gfprecinct toast with @fifyaau DF tzatziki, avocado, smoked salmon, rocket, pumpkin seeds, goats cheese feta and salt and pepper. Takes 15 minutes and is super simple to put together. ... With endo, two of the biggest dietary changes you can make is going dairy and gluten free. But the one acception for some is that you may be able to have a bit of goat and sheep based dairy as it doesnt contain the A1 protein that drives up inflammation. Ive been strictly GF and DF for a couple of months now and its the most committed Ive even been. One day, something just clicked. I was sick to death of flaring up every time I ate it, or waking up with the worst pain in the guts. But annoyingly, it was like I constantly forgot how it made me feel the last time, and Id dive back into a cheese platter or sourdough. As soon as I fully cut these out, my gut started healing rapidly. What I also noticed was that my sharp lower back pain around ovulation almost disappeared. And the usual cramping that would start the week leading into my period also became virtually non-existent. What Ive come to find over the years of Naturopathic treatment for endometriosis, is you may not be able to get 100% resolution of everything, but you absolutely can make a significant improvement to making life more manageable; less of the bad days and much more of the good. With myself, my dysmenorrhoea has always been off the charts. Its never been something that a wheat pack and cup of ginger tea can fix. Its emergency department kind of pain. So for me, even though Ive never had an entirely naturally pain-free period per se, the pain I do experience no longer depends on eating stacks of Naprogesic. For me, my biggest aim was to one day achieve periods without pain killers. And this year, I did just that. Not only as a sense of achievement, but for me mostly because NSAIDs were destroying my gut. After such a long time of taking them, I started getting intense sharp pains from the Naprogesic itself. Replacing one pain with another. Continued below. See more

09.01.2022 Still feeling mildly stoned after my acupuncture session today @acupuncturewellness_co. Today was probably the best so far. Acupuncture and TCM is a powerful modality for supporting endometriosis and fertility. The biggest thing I have noticed since getting fortnightly acupuncture is feeling more centred. Every time I have a session, I go from feeling go go go to calm, collected and focused. And every time I go, the effect gets better. Acupuncture is particularly good f...or helping to reduce stress, pain, can help to regulate cycles and has also been shown to increase IVF outcomes. Teamed with TCM herbs, its an incredible modality to incorporate into your endometriosis and/or care plan. @ Geelong, Victoria

08.01.2022 You’re not ungrateful for expressing you’re in pain. I know how lucky I am to experience this pregnancy. But it’s also okay to show that it’s fucking hard some days. ... And even though it’s tough, I’d still take it even worse just to grow these two humans inside of me. I took this photo this morning not only to illustrate this message, but also as a personal reminder of the resilience I’ve built when I look back in many years. How did pregnancy challenge you the most? Did it change you?

08.01.2022 [shared from my private Jade Walker Way Community group as requested so it can be shared] My TOP 2 NUTRIENTS you should probably be on right now: Vitamin D... If your levels are under 100, particularly under 70, you need to be supplementing Vitamin D. Vitamin D is an "immune modulator". Whenever I see clients who get sick all the time, you can guarantee their vitamin D is low. Low vitamin D is also linked with fatigue, weight gain, autoimmune diseases, osteoporosis. As the best source is from the sun, and the next best sources are from meat, many people are deficient in winter. DOSE: depends on your levels. 2000IU per day through winter is a good start. Zinc Just as important as Vitamin D, zinc is involved in almost every process in the body and gets used even faster when we are stressed or sick. Zinc is crucial for an optimal immune system and helps to fight off bacteria, viruses and the like. Some people also have genetic predispositions that lead to inability to absorb as much zinc. Common zinc deficiency signs and symptoms: - Poor wound healing - Mood disturbances, anxiety and irritability - Always sick - Burn easily (although can also depend on genetics) - Prone to stretch marks - Loss of taste, or fussy with foods - Hormonal disturbances - Poor digestion and low hydrochloric acid (important for breaking down food) - Dry skin - Hair loss The list goes on... IMPORTANT: Not all zinc supplements are the same, thus some are a bit crap. HOT TIP: dont take on an empty stomach or you may get nausea. Heightened nausea ironically can be a sign of low HCl, which can be from a zinc deficiency. DOSE: zinc requirements vary greatly. I highly advise you get support with this. (Join my private Facebook group to find out which types of zinc I use) With malabsorption issues you may need a transdermal zinc cream. FOOD SOURCES: OYSTERS, meats, organ meat, pumpkin seeds (in lower amounts).

06.01.2022 Quick and easy left overs fried rice - recipe and how to in my stories. @ Geelong, Victoria

06.01.2022 A rat study has demonstrated worsening of endometrial growth in stress-induced rats. We know that stress has a wide-spread effect on the body in many negative ways. Whilst we cant always make correlations from rat studies to humans, I have no doubt that this would apply.... Stress can increase inflammation, impact digestion, disturb our HPA/HPO acis and also switch on certain genes. Practicing daily meditation is an easy and free way to reduce stress.

06.01.2022 This is so great to see.

04.01.2022 I was adamant that when we started IVF I was doing everything right. I ate well and we took the best quality pre-natals and supplements. I was confident I’d be one of those star candidates; lots of eggs and plenty of healthy embryos. But when I only had 6 eggs retrieved... and 1 viable embryo, I was absolutely shattered. What did I do wrong?... What’s wrong with my body? This sent me on my war path. Scouring information on causes of low egg retrieval and low embryo outcomes. I then read It Starts with the Egg by Rebecca Fett... mind blown. But boy was I pissed off! Pissed off because, why didn’t I know half of this. Why don’t IVF clinics make this a priority to increase IVF outcomes and save people the money and heartache (I’ve later discovered these clinics do exist, but not many). When I discovered that naturally supporting IVF is a whole different kettle of fish, I knew it was time to see a Naturopath who knew this area like the back of her hand - @drmirandamyles Once I gained the clarity and extra knowledge I needed, I knew at that point that this was the exact path I was supposed to be walking. To be forced to educate myself so I can educate others. Now that I know what I know, I whole heartedly believe Naturopathic medicine should be advised to every IVF participant. BUT, only with a Naturopath who has undertaken further studies in this area, and preferably who’s been through it themselves. Going through IVF myself, I never could have imagined what it’s really like. Understanding the injection schedules, the types of drugs used, and how nuanced timing is. The emotions... the impatience... the fact it’s never a sure thing. Even just understanding acronyms like FET, SET, ICSI, DPO, 4AA... What I’ve also learnt, is that evidence-based supplements that can increase egg quality or implantation are also time sensitive. Needing to take certain things at certain times, and stopping certain things before the next step. I can now confidentially say I know these things, that I absolutely would not have known before. I’m SO grateful for everything now. With that one strong blastocyst we’ve got two . And, I also became a better Naturopath See more

03.01.2022 Part 2. What this pregnancy has taught me is that sometimes we get stuck in our ideals and won’t allow room to move. This amounts to more stress than necessary. But if you allow yourself to hear out the options and understand why they are so, you realise these guidelines are there to make sure you safely bring home your babies. I’m a proud person. I like to be the one with the facts. ... And while this has finally got me to my place of content, sometimes this can also be our undoing. Getting caught up in the detail and forgetting the bigger picture. In many ways this pregnancy has helped me see that side of me, and reflect a little on how I’ve probably been my whole life. Perhaps that’s a coming of age thing. Or perhaps that’s a coming of motherhood? I know for sure these life lessons will forever evolve and rather than chase them I'll continue to let them unravel the way they need to. I feel like my brain has been rewired, and I'm so grateful for it. I can now be more present in the final weeks of pregnancy and have more patience with this incredible experience. Contrary to this, there have been many days of emotions envisioning worst case scenarios. Imagining things like my babies being taken away from me at birth, resulting in many moments of tears. The emotional switch that gets turned up in pregnancy could give any bout of PMS a run for its money. But as strange as this may sound, I’ve loved pregnancy. Even the challenges. It's something we had to work a little harder for and thus I appreciate everything moment. And as with anything I've ever been through, it helps me become a better Naturopath too. Thanks for listening

02.01.2022 Do you ever feel like you're on the right path, but then you get side tracked by what someone else is doing or has achieved. Suddenly it puts you right off course and you start trying to run in their lane. But what you don't realise, is that the lane you're currently in, is actually right where you're meant to be. Don't let someone else's achievements or different ideas throw you off course. There will always be someone in front of you and someone behind. And there'll alw...ays be someone wanting to run your lane too. Whenever I get "idea envy" this is the mantra I say to myself every time "stay in your own lane Jade, it's right where you need to be". 02.01.2022 The strongest people are often those you dont even know are being strong. The pain hidden behind smiles. The years of not being heard, as if there was no answer. The fertility struggles. The hospital visits. The not being taken seriously because "youre just a woman". An endo person is a fucking strong one.

01.01.2022 These are my top essential oils for relaxing an over-active nervous system. Lavender is a GABAminergic. GABA is a neurotransmitter that reduces neural excitability, thus calming anxiety, insomnia and stress. Frankincense, aka Boswellia, has a myriad of uses. Traditionally, the essential oil is commonly used in meditation. Due to its very unique earthy perfume, the scent is grounding and calming. Whilst it is expensive, you only need a drop on the forehead or wrist. Boswe...llia as a herbal medicine, is extremely anti-inflammatory and often found in arthritis and pain formulas (however, do not ingest essential oils to achieve this effect. Herbal medicines use different forms of plant extracts that are safer for ingestion). By the way, Essential Therapeutics is an Australian company that makes practitioner grade essential oils, which is not MLM. This is the brand I often prescribe to clients if required. See more

01.01.2022 "When I leave its like Im away from a lover, but a love like Ive never known. Im in love with a patch of dirt. It raised me, it fed me, it imprinted me with its everlasting Sunday morning-still. But Im only the 4th generation Mills at Myola, 7th since we got off the Royal Admiral in Glenelg from Kent in 1838. And thats where it starts to hurt, when I think about the 40, 50, 60, maybe even 120,000 years, the generational magnitude of indigenous Australians on that land, in this country. Denied existence. Stolen land, beneath my feet. Compared to what theyve lost, my love that holds me in place must only be a little scratch, maybe on the knuckle that just stings a little when I bend it." A well written article by an old friend. Beautiful words.
