25.01.2022 It’s great to see Tasmanian’s getting out and exploring their own backyard, while we’ve got the place to ourselves. Three Capes Track has been a popular destination, so we’re extending the fee discount for another 2 months to 30 November. Get the details at http://www.premier.tas.gov.au//three_capes_track_walk_disc and book online at https://www.threecapestrack.com.au/

25.01.2022 Win-win! Youre looking at two gorgeous tassie wedge-tailed eagles perched safely on a poletop retrofitted with a perch. It seems simple enough, just two cheap... pieces of timber and hardware. But this photo is the outcome of years of negotiation and advocacy, resulting in a partnership between @tasnetworks and @raptorrefuge. And were just getting started! There is still much to do. Soon were hoping this will be a common sight as we aim to save countless bird lives. #tasmania #wildlife #animalrescue #eagles photo from Peter Thorp. See more

24.01.2022 Here's to all our older Tassie treasures! Enjoy your special week!

20.01.2022 Today is Aged Care Employee Day 2020. In our own busy days, its easy to overlook the incredible people who take such good care of those most dear to us. Today, thank them for their dedication and empathy. They deserve our respect. We rely on them to be there for our older family members, when we cannot. Be nice to an aged care worker today.

19.01.2022 Maintenance work at Granville Harbour to Pieman Heads 4WD track Staff from the West Coast Field Centre recently undertook some maintenance works on the popular ...Granville Harbour to Pieman Heads 4WD track. Over the weekend of 14 and 15 November, a large culvert on the remote 4WD track was replaced as it had begun to rust out showing signs of age. With the help of a local earthmoving contractor, the old steel pipe, which was a relic from former mining operations, was able to be replaced with a modern poly culvert. PWS appreciates all the effort from Granville Harbour residents that provided assistance for this work to be achieved. Discover Tasmania Visit North West Tasmania 4WD Tasmania

17.01.2022 Just 10 weeks since the slabs went down! Keep up the great work, Beardwood Pty. Ltd., and all your partners. This is how we need to work to deliver the houses and the jobs Tasmanians need, now and through our recovery from COVID-19.

14.01.2022 2020 has been a tough year to be in business. The best way to rebuild our economy, is to strengthen the businesses and industries who employ people. Last night, the Federal Government announced this major measure to immediately support all Tasmanian businesses - an instant asset write off to include the full cost of capital assets to help businesses with cashflow.

13.01.2022 Burnt out car recovery at Dial Range Our rangers are often called to unusual tasks in the line of duty and recently they were tasked with going into the Dial Ra...nge to retrieve a burnt out car on one of the tracks. The Dial Range attracts a diverse range of users from mountain bike riders, to walkers, hikers, horse riders and those undertaking natural studies. It is also popular for recreational vehicle use including trail bikes, all-terrain vehicles and four-wheel drives. Unfortunately, on this occasion, vandalism was the motivation and a vehicle was set on fire and pushed down an embankment off a trail. One of our Rangers found the car while off duty enjoying the Dial Range. He contacted the Leven Field Centre and the incident was reported to the Tasmania Police. The damage to the car was so severe that it has no identifiable features. Fortunately, the fire did not spread to the reserve. If you witness any illegal activity in a park or reserve, please report it to [email protected] Dial Range views @Blue_Tas_Runner on Instagram Vehicle recovery PRM North West Coast Lara Connel
