15.01.2022 A RARE PEICE OF HOLDEN HISTORY FOR SALE 1987 APV VL CALAIS BUILD 001... 333 Pack Factory V8 T5 Manual The very first iteration of the then newly formed APV or (ADVANCED PERFORMANCE VEHICLES) APV or Advanced Performance Vehicles was established soon after Peter Brock and GMH parted ways. Roughy 40 ex Bertie Street HDT employees - under the leadership of ex HDT Director Jeff Hughes, formed a short lived company to look after HDT owners and their cars. This then lead APV into developing their own standalone Commodore offering, to battle the likes of HSV. Here we have the first lot of the line. Build 001 - stamped July 1987 - with the original build plate. Back in 1988, it appeared in Car Australia Magazine, and at the time it had covered 28,000 klms of testing for APV. The car comes with those original magazines. This APV Calais features unique additions that make it stand out from your average Holden Calais. Such as: * APV Body Kit * APV Spoiler * Momo Steering Wheel * Engine Enhancements - which over the years has lead to the original engine being rebuilt and stroked to 355ci - then fuel injected. * Genuine ROH APV Wheels 15x7 - wrapped in brand new Toyo R888 semi slick tyres. * Factory Holden Radio Cassette * Original Scheel Interior - which presents fantastically for its age. * Freshly re - Painted Front bumper bar, rear bumper bar, bonnet and spoiler. This has been done to freshen the car up from a few marks and road wear and tear - not from being in an accident. * Over time the suspension had been upgraded, front and rear - including struts, shockers and springs. * Slotted rotors and heavy duty brake pads have been fitted - upgrading the standard Calais fit-out. * A rear sway bar has been fitted * Brand New front and rear Floor Mats * High Flow Exhaust * The diff was upgraded for the new higher power output. * APV Vic plates ( APV 001 ) Overall, as a car it presents amazingly. Now with VL’s being over 30 years old, they are know for rust in certain areas. As for this VL - It’s RUST FREE! Throughout the whole car. A hard thing to find. This is real opportunity to own a fantastic piece of Aussie History. We will be selling this vehicle with a Victorian Roadworthy.
