Shown here are details of the rear brake vent as specified by the owner of this Roadster. Note also the smooth rounded XJ13-inspired roadster rear ... 24.01.2022 JAGUAR ATTEMPS TO BAN PORSCHE, LAMBORGHINI, AUDI AND VW MODELS FROM THE US Land Rover was among the first automakers to forge a path in the highly profitable market for luxury sport utility vehicles, simplifying the technology for affluent but inexperienced off-road drivers. But the foreign-made rivals in the British company’s rearview mirror have grown closer than they might appear.... On Thursday, Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Plc asked a U.S. trade agency to block imports of Volkswagen Group’s Porsche, Lamborghini, Audi and Volkswagen SUVs it says are using its patented Terrain Response system without permission. Jaguar Land Rover, which is owned by India’s Tata Motors Ltd., said in a filing with the U.S. International Trade Commission that the technology helps negotiate a broad range of surfaces and is a key feature in Jaguar’s F-Pace and Land Rover Discovery vehicles. JLR seeks to protect itself and its United States operations from companies that have injected infringing products into the U.S. market that incorporate, without any license from JLR, technology developed by JLR and protected by its patent, Land Rover’s lawyer, Matthew Moore of Latham & Watkins, said in the filing. A spokesman for Volkswagen declined to comment on ongoing litigation. 20.01.2022 A star of our next edition - almost ready to go.

20.01.2022 JAGUAR RE-SIGNS TO SPONSOR MELBOURNE DEMONS Jaguar Australia is pleased to announce that it will continue as Co-Principal Partner of the Melbourne Football Club for the 2021 season. The re-signing will see the Jaguar brand remain on the back of the club’s guernsey, in what will be its third year of partnership with the Demons.... Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Australia, Mark Cameron, said he was excited to continue the support of the club, and building on the strong relationship between Jaguar and Melbourne fans. Jaguar is very proud to extend its partnership with Melbourne, Cameron told Melbourne Media. 2020 has been a challenging year for so many businesses and industries. However, our partnership with Melbourne has provided us a national platform to connect with current and potential customers. We look forward to continuing to find ways to innovate and support each other, particularly as we work through these changing times. We’re excited for next season and continuing to be part of the journey said Mr Cameron. Melbourne CEO Gary Pert was equally as thrilled to welcome back the premium automotive manufacturer for next year. The Jaguar brand is one of the most iconic in the world and today’s re-signing is a show of great strength, he told Melbourne Media. Mr. Pert added Jaguar has been a dynamic partner for us since joining at the start of the 2019 season, and to be building on our relationship with a prestige international brand is really exciting. This year has thrown some unique challenges our way, but to have Jaguar’s ongoing support is a significant step forward for our footy club. Jaguar Australia has been working closely with agency, MKTG, on strategy, activation and evaluation of the partnership with the Melbourne Football Club. Jaguar provides member exclusive offers throughout its dealerships nationwide. 18.01.2022 The great unassuming and brilliant Malcolm Sayer was an aerodynamicist not a designer. He brought monocoque racing to Jaguar which revolution everything. He created the C-Type, D-Type, E2A, E-Type and XJ-S along the way - not mention XJ13 which is a work of art in the truest sense ... He died way to young of a heart attack in 1970.

17.01.2022 JAGUAR LAND ROVER SALES GETTING BACK ON TRACK Jaguar Land Rover retail sales for the three-month period to 30 September 2020 were significantly improved from sales in the preceding quarter but continue to be impacted by Covid-19. Almost all of Jaguar Land Rover’s retailers worldwide are now open or partially open and the company’s plants have resumed production with robust protocol and guidelines to ensure that effective social distancing, hygiene and health monitoring measur...es are in place and all sites are Covid-19 secure. The vehicle manufacturing plants at Solihull (UK), Halewood (UK) and Nitra (Slovakia), as well as the Engine Manufacturing Centre (UK), have now increased to a two-shift pattern to meet increasing demand. Retail sales for the quarter ending 30 September 2020 were 113,569 vehicles, up over 50% from sales of 74,067 in the prior quarter, while down 11.9% from pre-Covid levels a year ago. China sales were particularly encouraging, up 14.6% on the prior quarter and 3.7% year-on-year. The month of September also saw sales up 28.5% year-on-year in China. Retail sales for other regions also significantly improved from the prior quarter, including the UK (+231.6%), Europe (+78.8%), North America (+21.3%) and Overseas (+35.1%). However, sales in these regions have not yet recovered to pre-Covid levels a year ago: UK (-2.9%), North America (-15.8%), Europe (-19.8%) and Overseas markets (-30.3%). The exterior features a new front bumper with larger and lower air intakes for increased visual width. This visual width is enhanced by a wider front grille featuring a mesh design detail inspired by Jaguar’s heritage logo. The technology uses the forward-facing camera to automatically switch between high and low beam, ensuring that oncoming drivers aren’t dazzled. Animated Directional Indicators are also available as an option upgrade. Design enhancements at the rear include a wider bumper and body-coloured rear upper valance, which visually lower the car. Darkened rear light surrounds now also feature on the XF Saloon. 15.01.2022 WOW. Perhaps the only colour picture ever taken of the Anderson Special which was based on a new XK120. It was built by the Queensland and Norther, Territory Jaguar distributors and driven by Bill Pitt in the 1954 Australian GP which was held on the Gold Coast. Bill had never driven it before the start of the race. It was running strongly until a type blew. A wheel weight was found wedged between the tube and tyre! It never raced again. The race was won by Lex Davison driving his ex-works (Moss), Gaze HWM Jaguar.

15.01.2022 The mighty XK8 of very passionate Italian Luca Manni.

14.01.2022 CHANGING JAGUAR'S BASIC HISTORY IN OUR COMING MAGAZINE Here is the editorial in the coming magazine. The ground-breaking edition will be sold individually (www.jaguarmagazine.com) to devotees immediately it is released. ... Printing commences on Monday. OUR MOST EXTRAORDINARY EDITION I never thought we would publish an edition with SUCH profound features as this very one, especially after 36 years of producing Jaguar Magazine! To cover no less than three new up-dated Jaguar models is big in itself, but the really huge ones for me come with featuring dual Jaguar Le Mans winning driver Ron Flockhart's best friend, 96 year old Hugh Langrishe, and getting his stories. The most important story we will almost certainly ever publish though is revealing the 1948 London Motor Show's world debut XK120 actually exists - and we tell where! The car was always documented by EVERYONE as being chassis number #660001 and that it was used by both Jaguar and Dunlop for testing and model development before being cut up after being one of the most heavily publicised cars in the entire world. In late 1948 the motoring scene and car devotees were left with their jaws agape, and were instantly in love with this Jaguar. This single vehicle put Jaguar instantly on the international stage for the first time, to the point where the tiny Coventry company had to put it into full scale production - not what they had anticipated. It was through good and long time friend Richard Hassan that we learned this astounding truth which belies belief. He was young when all of this happened, but his father was one of the very main men at Jaguar, and managed the first race for the XK engined '120, as well as the Jabbeke speed run in Belgium. Walter Hassan co-designed and personally developed the engine and it officially recorded 132 mph there to defy all the doubters. Richard worked hard with me, as we put all the facts on the table while building the case for the car which Richard knew, and could prove was correct. One XK120 was on the Show stand, ran at Jabbeke and won the one hour race at Silverstone in 1949 - but not the car everyone thought! It is amazing how wrong in many different ways Jaguar Cars, writers and historians have got not just this wrong, but they totally got the histories of the two other first XK120s incorrect too. At that time those were the only XK120s in the world! Thanks Richard - and I hope you have more truths as profound! Les. 13.01.2022 From my scrapbook - a newspaper clipping.

12.01.2022 Brian Sewell mentioned the attractive shape of the first SS90 a while ago. years ago, when I exchanged SS1 chhassis for slabs of beer, and SS1 chassis came up ...and Gordon Doering bought it and a few other SS100 bits, grille, bonnet etc. He had a local coach builder do a body in the style of the 1 st SS90. Unforunately despitehaving a lend of a SS100 scuttle they got it about 1 1/2" too low. Soo I could never fit in it but Gordon being afair bit shorter was quite OK and happy with it It was sent to Doug's to do the mechanicals, fittings and assembly. And Gordon ran in events for years, Sadly Gordon has gone to that great pit stop in the sky. but here are a few pics, Rolling chassis and the MK iV that went to UK poking it's nose out behind. And some pic sat Eddington Sprints with both Gordon and myself running. Eddington as you can see is a laid back affair, A one horse town [ school, couple of houses and a petrol station. And anice straight road out of town . The locals close of the road, use the school yard for the pits ,sell pies and sandwiches to the competitors and avast variety of cars enter. From memory the Bugatti in the foreground # 35 is Bob King's Anzani engined Bug. a fast car. I have fond memories of running against it at Geelong Sprints We get 3 runs. After the second he was comfortably ahead of my time and didn't bother with the last run having it safely in the bag So I stuck it into it hard and surprised myself by beating a DB 4 GT,a V12 E, and a Daimler dart and the Bugatti. And of course it was too late for him by them to have another run. See more

10.01.2022 Frank's start - he was a trained Jaguar specialist with a Mobilgas Service Station at Whale Beach. He was a Life Saving Captain and international representative. His Uncle Hope Bartlett bought two new XK120s, Frank's racer was one of those.

10.01.2022 Who else was there when the one and the only Jaguar XJ13 came to Australia? I was more than excited to see it and I wanted to get up close and personal with it ...as I was intending to build a replica and wanted to see every detail that I could. I have a lot of photos so I won't post all of them right now, can save some for another post. See more

05.01.2022 Everybody please read this. The brand new car was launched to the public by Ian Cummins in 2008 in front a crowd in Sydney which included UK personalities and Jaguar authorities Penny Woodley and Jim Graham (former Jaguar Student Apprentice and executive). When I saw it at JD Classics in Essex during mid-2010 it was being claimed as genuine! It was intended to be loaned to the Jaguar CEO for the Mille Miglia until the truth that it was not built by Jaguar was revealed.

03.01.2022 JAGUAR LAND ROVER INTRODUCES NOISE CANCELLATION INTO ITS CABINS Jaguar Land Rover has revealed new noise cancellation technology that removes unwanted road and tyre sounds from the cabin and provides a quieter and more refined experience for drivers and passengers. The technology, introduced on the new Jaguar F-PACE, new Jaguar XF and Range Rover Velar, is capable of lowering unwanted noise peaks by 10dB and overall noise levels by 3-4dB the equivalent of turning down the i...n-car sound system by four ‘steps’. This significant reduction in exposure to low-frequency noises up to 300Hz can help prevent driver fatigue on longer journeys. Fatigue affects the ability of a driver to deal with hazards or unexpected events, with tired motorists recording an average reaction time increase of 16.72% compared to those fully alert. Reducing accidents and improving driver wellbeing is a key part of Jaguar Land Rover’s journey to Destination Zero: an ambition to make societies safer and healthier and our environments cleaner through relentless innovation. Active Road Noise Cancellation, enabled by Silentium’s Active Acoustics technology, uses sensors on each wheel to constantly monitor the vibrations from the road surface and calculates the opposite phase sound wave needed to remove the noise heard by the occupants. By monitoring in real-time, unexpected noises from potholes or rough surfaces can be isolated and removed. More in our new edition.

01.01.2022 So sad - but the usual outcome.
