21.01.2022 Last week I received the SPASA Australia, 2018 Tradesperson of the Year award. For those not in the industry, this is the award for the best swimming pool tradie in the whole flippin country - whoop whoop! This is the greatest honour I have received in my entire career. I might have to change industries to top this, but before I retire I have to thank every-one that has helped me along the way. I could never earn this recognition without the support of so many wonderful clients, suppliers, and team-mates. The best thing I have done is to surround myself with the right people!

15.01.2022 Power of Three Three fans of water sprinkling on the surface of this pool are the pinnacle of a design and construction project that is uncluttered yet multilayered. This water feature is part of a project that included regular structural elements, such as paving and retaining walls, as well an extroverted piece in the form of a fire pit. The significance here, is that the fire pit and water feature were designed and built in tandem to be viewed and experienced together. The ...Continue reading

10.01.2022 The recent renovation of the classic Central Pool at, One and Only Hayman Island, by Cascade Pools and Jagun included resurfacing of the pool with Bisazza mosaics. Watch the process unfold as Jagun install over 650,000 tiny glass tiles, including over 3,500 cuts for the architecturally designed pattern. We lost count the cuts in the corners, cove and borders. Filmed in time-lapse, the team work day and night to meet a deadline. http://youtu.be/56XZ2ns4w04
10.01.2022 This simple job had the most dramatic transformation because it wasn't completley finished when it was built. We had the pleasure seeing the job to fruition. Our reward for responding to the original builders design intent was 2016 SPASA Award for Pool Renovations uo to $25,000.

08.01.2022 We are often reminded of Japanese Zen Gardens when thinking about our product and the way we go about building our creations. In a Zen Garden pebbles are carefully placed in much the same way we place our mosaic tiles. For many of our clients, cleaning their pool is a walking meditation, as is the regular process of raking the Zen pebbles. Like many art forms, the process of creating is the focus, not the result of the garden. Yes, the garden is a quiet place for contemplatio...n and inspiration, but for the gardener, this work is a walking meditation. Whilst the gardeners mind is focused on placing the pebbles, it is taking a break from the thousands of thoughts rushing around inside his head. All those worries about the past and future, what other people are doing, money etc etc. All these thoughts go quiet whilst the mind concentrates on the movement of pebbles. An unsettled mind is in a state of chaos. Each random thought is like a pebble bouncing around against a million other pebbles in a storm. The raking of a Zen Garden represents the minds effort to bring peace to this chaos. For us, we come to a pool in a state of chaos and for a short time our walking meditation brings peace. Like the Zen Garden, our creations don't last as nature inevitably brings another storm or time just takes its toll, but as we step away from our work, for a short moment there is peace. Every little tile that we place is a thought at peace. In this way our work is not a representation of our skills and experience, it is a representation of our meditation. In this process perfection is not the goal, because nature and the mind are not perfect. Also it is not possible to get every pebble and every tile perfect. Our aim is to create moments of peace and inevitably our clients will experience this peace when they step into our creations.

03.01.2022 Fresh White Wall of Ashgrove By the time we looked at this job, most the stacker stone had fallen of the feature wall. A closure inspection of the rest of the wall showed the render had been compromised by the pool water. To prepare the project, we removed all paint and deteriorated surfaces. With a fresh surface to work on we applied a white glass mosaic blend. The beautiful new wall was framed with stonework to match the existing pool coping and surrounds. To complete the job we did some repairs and had a big clean-up. The structural qualities of glass mosaic ensures that this wall will look amazing and fresh for many years.
03.01.2022 Summers on the way and we are having a great time getting pools ready for Christmas. If anyone wants some work building pools, give me a call. Thanks, Dan.
