24.01.2022 Rowan reached out to me a couple of months ago saying he wanted to record some acoustic songs. One studio session later and I was left feeling amazed at how someone can incorporate such bright, uplifting melodies into songs with a much deeper messages of self reflection and life experience. 18.01.2022 Had the pleasure of doing some live outdoor recording for Kimberly Here's the first of the three videos we ended up with, titled "Turning". "I've been feeling the weight of the the world lately, and I'm know I'm not the only one. The world is changing around us fast, things are getting worse. It's evident in the erratic weather patterns, our rapidly decreasing ecologies, the dear flora and fauna and our ever sprawling cities. I've been slowly watching things change around me ...over time, subconsciously adjusting to our new normal. But we cannot let this absent conditioning go on! We need to start talking, keep each other informed and safe, we need to lean on one another during these trying times. We can't let ourselves become desensitised. So please, talk to a friend (or a stranger) about how you are feeling, let people in and let them know about the changes (however small) that you are noticing around you. 14.01.2022 Hello to everyone keeping an eye on this page! Brace yourselves for a bit of a read, I've got some thoughts I need to share... If you know me, you also know how much music means to me. Nothing is changing there. At the beginning of last year I moved to Melbourne with the intention of furthering my career as an artist and had most of an EP written. Since then, I've become more familiar with myself and have changed direction. From this point on I will be focused on being a Voca...l Producer and taking a more technical, behind the scenes role in music. The ones on stage are always the ones more visible to us as everyday listeners, but I always felt like I was moving towards that because it was easier to expect and had a more appealing narrative to justify what I'd been doing for the past 5 or so years. Making my own music and videos has been great fun but has also confirmed that I'm much more comfortable pursuing a career in production than being a full time artist. I want to thank everyone that popped their head in whenever I have released content, it's truly heartwarming, not to mention all the amazing people who I've had the pleasure of singing with. Music will still come your way through this page, but more often than not it won't be my own. I'm genuinely loving and admiring the intricacies of life and the music industry so far. It feels good to finally roll the ball in the direction I've always wanted to deep down. You can be sure I'll be keeping it as real, open and human as I can in connecting with all of you who follow, support, love or hate me. Jake x
