18.01.2022 One extreme to another. It’s raining here and smells wonderful. . Don’t think it will last long but sounds wonderful on the roof. The red tail cockatoos over the valley are swooping and calling to each other. Just a bit more please

16.01.2022 The roses are really putting on a fabulous display

16.01.2022 Love wandering the garden to pick bunches of spring flowers for the house and cottages. I enjoy fresh flowers all year around in the house but am spoilt for choice at this time of the year from my garden.

15.01.2022 The azaleas are in full bloom .

14.01.2022 Can anyone identify these feathers please. We had a bird hit the window and was stunned for awhile . Sat him in a safe place and when I checked him he/she flew away but left these tail feathers behind. I had noticed the bird around in the past week but could not identify it. Bigger than a wagtail but smaller than a parrot or magpie. Was a dun/ brownish colour. Any info would be appreciated. T.I.A

13.01.2022 Full house and lovely to see our guests mingling tonight and wandering the gardens.

12.01.2022 Ibis couples only spa cottage looks so cool under the soft green of the Robinia tree and surrounded by the gorgeous blues of the agapanthus in full flower.

12.01.2022 Perfect day to fertilise the roses. We have had steady soaking in rain overnight and drizzle most the the morning. Perfect garden feeding weather.

11.01.2022 Finally some sun to help my roses to bloom. We are having very cool overcast days and it rained here yesterday. So many buds on the roses and today we saw flowers on some bushes.

07.01.2022 A wonderful meditation tonight in the gazebo in the rose garden at Jalbrook to celebrate a new full moon. Karly did an amazing sound meditation with gongs and bowls.

05.01.2022 Had some visitors fly in today to check out my repotting work. They are very inquisitive and show no fear at all. They chirp and chatter to each other . Feel very lucky to have so many visiting daily.

05.01.2022 Gorgeous new flowers and foliage today on the weeping wisteria and the wedding bush. Love this time of the year.

05.01.2022 An incredible Nessun Dorma flashmob, in a shopping mall. Our friends at Opera North are beginning their return to live performance this autumn. You can support their inspiring work with a donation at https://clssicfm.co/31yJBd2 (and to this amazing tenor, Rafael Rojas)

03.01.2022 Well it’s cold, wet and very wintery here today. Full house and everyone will be enjoying their log fires, hot tub spas and warm cottages. The perfect place to relax and reconnect.

03.01.2022 Love filling the cottages with fresh flowers for our guests to enjoy. Ibis in the pink with Pierre de Ronsard roses.

03.01.2022 Having a clean out and found this little book that belonged to my dad who died when I was 10. He was 40 years old and died on duty at Donnybrook Police Station. He was a POW in Changi and on the last page I found a note presumably written by him. Today being Remembrance Day it was sad to reflect that the conditions endured at Changi by him and thousands of others cut short so many young lives. Remembered always with love. Xx
