05.01.2022 Please share amongst your family and friends in Jamaica. Phase II of the Rural Youth Economic Empowerment Programme (RYEEP) will begin very soon. The Programme allows young people the opportunity to kick-start their own Agri-business.... Eligibility: 18-35 years old unemployed & not in school they will receive up to $50,000 in agricultural input to start their Agri business participants will undergo business & entrepreneurship training The areas are:- A. Livestock (poultry, pig, goat, cattle) B. Crop production C. Agro processing (cottage based) D. Apiculture (Bee keeping) Participants may be from any of the three categories: Youth involved in agriculture with little or no formal training. Formally trained but no experience operating an agri business Youth interested in operating an agri business but have little or no training and experience. Participants must have the basic infrastructure to operate their business. So if they’re applying to do poultry rearing, they must have the chicken coop. If they’re applying for the other livestock areas or crop production, they must have the land or access to land.
