24.01.2022 REPOST!! Jamboree racers, don't miss out on this opportunity! Willowbank Raceway | Drag Racing's Finest August 12 at 3:24 PM ... SPORT COMPACT TEST DAY - AUGUST 29!!!!! With the unfortunate cancellation of the 2020 Garrett Brisbane Jamboree due to the COVID restrictions, Willowbank Raceway, with the support of the team at Jamboree, will be holding a dedicated Sport Compact only test day! We look forward to seeing our Sport Compact teams take advantage of the cooler temperatures and lay down some record breaking runs! Saturday 29 August 2020, on track times 9am to 5pm. Entry cost is $225 it includes driver plus three crew members. Given the current conditions we all face we will need a minimum of 40 entries for the event to proceed. Entries are available on-line via the Willowbank Raceway Website, you need to log in/register and then go to the Racer tab and click on 'Enter Race'.

20.01.2022 A day to remember !!!!! We loaded up and headed to willowbank to test at the sports compact test day. We took the 4 cars QIC68 camaro, VNSS90 vn ss, VHP51 vh w...ags, and BQQ57 vl, we have been looking forward to a prepped 1/4 mile. This was the first chance we had this year to give these cars a good test after changing a few things over the past few months and boy didnt we get some results. With every car we always set small goals and chase these goals, we never go out to rotate the earth, swing for the fence or break records. By taking your time and small steps big things happen with time. QIC68 camaro: Mitch bean had been busy doing a new engine and turbo combo for his camaro over the break. This was its first outing and planned to get some laps and data and get it back to where it was with the old combo to give us a good start point for this setup. With danny sorting the ecu side of things on the HOLLEY EFI, the big heavy girl over 3800 pounds started to move forward with every pass, and just making small changes each pass with great results, mitch finished up testing on saturday with pb's at every point, pb 60ft - 1.39 (previous run to time card shown) pb 1/8 - 5.56 @131.6 mph pb 1/4 - 8.52 @166.31 mph Congrats to mitch and kim on some great results moving in the right direction. VNSS90- Shane and his crew brought out the vn ss to start moving forward with this car. We had built this car for shane nearly 2 years ago now how time flys. Shane had recently just got his drag racing licence and been doing some test n tunes learning his car. The deal was when he was confindent enough in his car and he was running consitant 9's we would start to move forward at the track. So shane and his crew went away and did some QDRC and test and tunes came back with a hand fully of 9's time slips. So 3 weeks ago we got it back in the shop and made some changes with the converter added some sensors and put it back on the hub dyno for some ramps we were all super happy with the results. So saturday was the day to see where the car was at and again slowly creep up on it and get some laps in and the car didnt disappoint !. Shane drove this car perfect all day, from first pass off the trailer running a 9.0 @ 156mph smashing his pb at this point and knowing that the change we had made def went in the right direction we were all super happy. So as the day went on we focused on just getting the car off the line smarter and faster and chasing that 60ft time. By chasing the start line we ended up smashing all his previous pb's out of the park. pb 60ft- 1.38 pb 1/8- 5.6 @131.6 mph pb 1/4- 8.67 @158.17 mph Well done to shane and his whole team congrats VHP51- Benny in his vh wagon needs no intrudcution all he needs is a round of applause because he works super hard on this car and does it all him self and deserves every bit of this. WELL DONE BENNY. The vh recently recieved his new heart from jason cowie engines and man she is a angry mofo. Straight from the first pass saturday when it wanted to stand straight up on the rear bar we knew it was angry. Benny did his thing cam back and started to tame the beast down and get it to work in small steps and it didnt it what. Every pass from here it got faster and faster !! Ben does all his own tuning so he knows what it wants and he was letting it have it. pb with 7.8 then pb with 7.6 and then last pass of the day smashing all his previous records with. pb 1/8 - 4.912 @ 148.12 mph pb 1/4 - 7.564 @ 184.90 mph Congrats benny we all know how bad you wanted this and well deserved, and let it also be known every car on the day has one of his @elite automatics gearboxes in them. BQQ57- well well.... This vl has been a massive part of SPOT ON from the start and the hours danny and i put into this car over the last 17years cant be added up or explained. So when somthing like this happens and we reach goals we set together its acutally priceless. I personally cant thank danny and bruiser enough. We orginally built this car for street / powercruise and race it from time to time, but every time we took this car to the track it would blow us away how it performs and respons. So this car became the car we would test all our ideas in and started setting goals of a fast reliable street driven car /combo. We knew this car had allready shown the half track numbers to go fast out the back but like everything untill it does it doesnt mean nothing. So saturday was the day to see if it would do what we had set out to do with this car. First pass was super clean and straight and so smooth but no time boards was a bummer, but be patient and smart. So we turned the car around and went out for another hit we got out past 60ft with a 1.20 then about the 150-200 ft and it unloaded hard so off the throttle and rolled her down the track. So we lined up we know it was starting to get to the peak of the day but and give it a go, the 2 radial cars in front of buz tyres so it wasnt a good sign but we still there to give it a go and yeah we didnt stick either. So back to pits and now time to wait out the mid day heat and wait we did, around 3pm the temp started to cool off and temp started to drop and could feel the time was coming. So changing nothing on the car from the morning run and she came out and rolled down a 7.31 @ 191.4 mph and man so stoked with it. We checked the data and so happy with it was time to send it again and back it up and that we did with 60ft - 1.21 1/8 - 4.721 @ 154.9 mph 1/4 - 7.246 193.57 mph So impressed from a fully weighed 3590 pound street driven car. Thanks again to bruiser and danny and to all involved cant do it with yous its a team effort not a solo mission.
